The Romex salesman came to my house and sold me the service based on information that was not at all accurate. I was told that it would be $130 plus tax and service would be quarterly. They were going to come back 1 month after initial treatment as a followup at no charge to make sure all was good. Romex has never done any treatment inside my home which was part if the $130 initial cost (Romex has come by twice and never has dome anything iside my home). When I received the first invoice, it was for $150.47. I then received another invoice 1 month after for $130.99. This was for the follow up that I was told would be at no charge. When speaking with ***************** the ********************** Representative was very rude and said he was not there in person to confirm what our salesman said. I told him exactly what was said and what the acceptance of service was based on. He again said he was not there so now I feel that he is calling me a liar. I want my initial billing corrected to $130.00 plus tax. I also want my "follow up" billing creditetd back because it was told that it would be at no charge. I also want to cancel service altogether with being charged $250.00. I am not at all satisfied with anything Romex has done and neither are my neighboirs as they experienced the same issues. I just want to cancel service (or lack there of) and move forward and put this behind me. I expect a return explanantion and solution to my issues but I am sure this will not happen either.Business Response

I signed a contract with Romex Pest Control in March 2024, and they provided wrong Information from the start. I was told about the following: 1. My service fee will be $139 and when in reality it was $139 + Taxes and it comes out to be $150.47 /service.2. I will have quarterly services for one year, whereas they started with a service in every two months. This gives them extra 2 services in a year, charging me an addition $300.94 3. They told me the contract was only for 12 months. When I reached out to them on 02/21/25 to not renew my contract anymore, I am told the contract is for 18 months instead and they cannot cancel my subscription yet. This is the violation of what I signed up for and the contract was signed only for 12 months.I am feeling cheated and scammed into signing up for a service which is highly dissatisfactory. It did not control the Scorpion problems I was facing in my house, and they are charging almost double than what a competitive company would charge. Now, their contract cancellation service is reading into fine print which clearly mention that the contract could be for 12 or 18 months whereas, I signed up for the 12 months duration. They are clearly violating the contract and doing bad business practice of scamming people with more charge and longer duration of the contract without their knowledge. I would request you to please look into this matter and refund me the extra two months' worth of service charge that they intend to get from me until September of 2025. Romex Pest Control offered their services to control pests in and around my home. The tech comes every other month, and sprays in about 5 areas in my 2300 sq. ft. house. There are more pests than before the treatment. $180 every two months is ridiculous when they spray 5 areas in the house (I work remote and followed the tech to see where he sprayed.) This is robbery. I talked with Romex about my dissatisfaction with their services and they refused to cancel my contact, stating a tech can come out any time. And spray 5 additional areas?! Romex was very aggressive pushing their services throughout our newly built neighborhood. Technicians did not perform services as agreed upon. Months later, despite monthly service, there are scorpions and spiders throughout the house. Nothing works as advertised. When calling to complain they immediately went to a $250 cancellation fee with no other option or recourse except a "re-service." ************ is awful - do not do business with them. On March 11 the salesperson for this company Hunter, approached me at my home while I was in my yard. He was soliciting pest control business for this company. I agreed to try the company & was told I would receive the contract by email. When I went into my home I researched the company & saw the horrible reviews. I promptly called Romex & told them I want to cancel the contract. I asked to receive proof of my cancelation by email. I didn't receive the proof but instead another contract. On March 13 I then sent the attached email. I believed that the matter was closed. Three months later I saw that Romex charged $250 to my **************** as a cancelation fee. I called **** to dispute the charge. The decision was in favor of Romex. **** told me this is due to them having a signed contract. They advised me to file a lawsuit in small claims court. I called and canceled this contract a short time after ****** left my property. According to the *************************, the law is very clear in ***** with respect to door-to-door transaction. You have the right to cancel the sale within three business days. ***. Bus. & Comm. Code ***., Sec *******. In addition to your right to cancel these transactions, the merchant is required by law to provide you notice of your 3-day right to cancel. ***. Bus. & Comm. Code ***., Sec 601.052-601.053. The merchant must do so by giving you a contract or receipt stating the date of the sale, the name and address of the merchant, and a statement of your right to cancel the contract including an address for sending your cancellation notice. I never received this door to door sales requirement. In researching this company I have learned that this cancelation fee practice that they engage in has many, many consumers upset. Consumers should be protected from these people. The number of complaints of the business practices of this company speaks volumes. I hired Romex earlier this year to rid my house of rodents. Their service did not meet my expectations as they did not remedy the rodent problem. I emailed them to cancel my service, I then got a text to call them to try to retain my business. I declined and they told me there would be a $250 early cancellation fee. I specifically asked the door to door sales representative if there was a cancellation fee to which he told me NO. I the BBBs site is littered with the same exact complaint which shows this is a standard practice to tell a prospective customer what they want to hear then doing the opposite and charging this fee. Its a flat out lie for their salesperson and the company should honor their word rather exacerbate their poor service.Business Response

I took out pest control service with ROMEX on July 29, 2024. The main reason I signed up for service was to take care of a mouse issue at home. the salesman assured me they could handle the problem. I had 1 yard treatment for bugs and they put a couple of black boxes in the yard for mice. My husband, who was a building contractor for 45+ years was not home at the time. I signed up for one year, every other month. Meanwhile, my husband had consulted with a nationally well-known company (*****). BOTTOM LINE, WE HAD MICE IN THE ****** ATTIC, EVERYWHERE! (ORKIN crawled around the attic and showed us pictures) Insulation had to be replaced and they also did termite and bug control. We called ROMEX to cancel & they told us we would have to pay a $250 cancellation fee even though they were unable to do what was necessary to take care of our problem. They are fast talkers and tell you what you want to hear even if they are unable to deliver.Business Response

We were pushed by a door-to-door salesman to take pest control from Romex for just $65 for the first service and then quarterly service at $129 however they started charging monthly. We noticed that the services did not have any effect on the pests- Spiders and insects kept returning due to frustration we requested to cancel the service the phone *** said it will be cancelled however minutes later we received an early cancellation fee invoice.Business Response

This company did not notify me there was a cancelation penalty if I decided to cancel the service. The salesman just present the electronic pad with the place to sign for the service. What I signed was the contract that explained the cancelation penalty but i was not made aware of and the salesman never informed me there was an early cancelation penalty.*******************************Business Response

They are the worst pest control service provider. When they come to your door to sell their product, they make all sorts of promises. They had me sign up for their service. I never had any pest problems inside my house before signing up with them. After three months of service, I started seeing spiders and beetles in my patio, front yard and even bedrooms. I called to file a complain. The lady told me they didnt have anyone available and gave me a time frame of the whole day for next service. I told her I cant stay home the whole day waiting for the pest control to show up some time and asked her to cancel the account. She transferred me to a person named *******. ******* had a very rude behavior. She told me I have two options. Either wait for someone to come to my house to spray again or cancel the account for a $250 charge. I told her she cant charge me $250 cancellation fee for them not providing the promised service. She hung up the phone. As soon as the call got disconnected, I got a notification that my credit card is charged with $250 for canceling the account. Please do not sign up with these scammers. They are the worst pest control providers.Business Response
