I keep getting a monthly bill from ******** insurance keeps getting a monthly claim from Southern; these are the same company. I have called twice to resolve this as I believe they are incorrectly charging me & claiming against my insurance. I left the hospital with wheelchair, transfer board & a bedside commode in Jan 2024. I was told at the hospital that I could rent the wheelchair (returned April 2024), but I could NOT rent transfer board or bedside commode as these are unsanitary to be rented. Also, I was also told my insurance wouldn't pay for the bedside commode or the transfer board, & I couldn't rent but had to pay for them because I couldn't return. In August 2024, I get my first bill sent to my home from "SPC Home Medical Equipment", which lists 3 months of monthly rental charges for a bed side commode. I immediately called & explained I paid for these before I left the hospital & that I was told they weren't rentals. She told me since it has a drop ********** had my insurance info, then they send claims to my insurance. I also questioned, why i was just now receiving a bill for three months worth of monthly charges and she said there was an issue with their ************* couldn't send monthly ******** for those months. I said that if they were going to send me a monthly rental charge, then they could pick up whatever they were charging me for because I didn't need it anymore. She said they couldn't pick it up for sanitary reasons. I also asked them how I could be getting rental fees for a commode/board that I had to buy & could not rent. Then she said it was for the transfer board, which I also said I was told I could not rent it & paid for it. So none of it makes sense to me. These ******** keep getting denied and they keep billing monthly for a commode that I cannot return. Also, I told them to stop billing my insurance &me and they said they had to bill insurance. For what I don't know because they told me my insurance wouldn't pay for it.
