I was hesitant about posting this review but last week week I was driving and my car suddenly stopped and smoke was coming from my engine. I had my car towed to Kia dealership. I spoke to the owner of the dealership and told him what happen and I felt like it was because of a recent recall on my kia that was suppose be fixed few months back in reference to the engine. I spoke to the owner directly and he wanted to say that it was not because of the engine recall it was due to something else without even looking at my engine and before it was put on the machine. The service tech wanted me to pay to put my car on the machine and I did not due to the fact I believe the problem was caused by a bad part. Several hours later I received a phone call from them and he said that just by looking at it once again they doing a self diagnostic test by looking at it he told me that I didn’t have oil in my car in which I did. The next day I received a phone call and sure enough it was from the recall that they claim was fixed and that it will take a month maybe more to get my car back because they had to order a new engine. I did not get a phone call apologizing for the inconvenience and the situation could have been much worse because my life was at risk. I am disappointed in the response and lack of service from kia and the response from the owner.

Ms. Charlot's car was towed to our store with a seized engine. As the owner of Fort Bend Kia, I have never spoken directly to Ms. Charlot. Charlot's sister came directly to me complaining that no one has responded to her or her sister regarding the status of her sister's vehicle that was towed to our store. At that time, the tow truck driver had not arrived at the store. During our conversation she stated we performed a recall on the car a few months earlier and apparently did not actually replace the recalled part causing the engine to seize. This was not true, we replaced a part associated with the anti-lock braking module that has nothing to do with the engine. When the vehicle did arrive, our initial inspection revealed there was no oil in the engine and it was seized. Our Service Director informed the actual owner by phone that we would need to perform some required diagnostic work and send the results to Kia for their review. That work was performed the following morning and later that afternoon Kia authorized an engine replacement under a specific warranty extension. Ms. Charlot was updated on the status of her claim that same afternoon.
