I met with **** and provided this company my information electronically to do my taxes 1.5 months before the *** deadline. When I met with him, I ask him how long it would take to file my taxes. He said it would be done by next week. However, next week came and went. I called and called but they failed to respond in a timely manner or to get my documents and perform any services. They ultimately failed to file my taxes on-time by the deadline as well. However, despite that, because of their incompetence they now claim that had to file an extension. ********************* is completely inept and incompetent. As a result of me fearing my taxes would be late and that I would be penalized by the ***, I called the Manager Kemi (who is simply the wife of ****) at 2:45 on the *** deadline and told the secretary **** that I needed to get a call back with 30 mins to resolve this manner and I said that I want a completely resolution by 4pm. She failed to return my call. As a result, I made other arrangements and filed my own *** Tax extension. Now this terrible company is claiming that I owe them money for their incompetence for filing an "incorrect" *** extension. They claim they filed an extension which I never asked for. I ask them to do my taxes and do them on time--that is all. So to check, I asked **** what tax amount was due which is a critical part of the tax extension form ****, he said I didn't know. I haven't done your taxes. However, form ***************************************************************** interest are due later on when you actually file the taxes. It is critical that rough math be done during the filing of the extension. Long story short, even on the form he claims he found, it was incorrect. Luckily I had already filed the tax extension myself because of their incompetence and paid the estimated tax due.

The first time we set eyes on **************** was on March 3, 2022, for a free consultation. He came in without any documentations, stating that he was still interviewing other tax preparers. On April 18, 2021, **************** called and asked that we file a tax extension on his behalf, which we did. Few hours later, **************** called making all sorts of threats including but not limited terroristic threats, extortion, and hateful threats. He followed it up with email reiterating his verbal threats. We had since sent him a **** for filing extension for on his behalf and thus far, he has refused to pay for our service.

      Complaint: 17065555

I am rejecting this response because:
The company is lying.  I mean it is easily proved the company is lying.

First, I met with **** on March 4th, 2022 at 1pm.  Easy enough proof since I have proof of the meeting on my calendar and I also requested and took off from work to conduct the call.

In that meeting, I asked **** two questions.  Question 1: Since they expected old fashioned paper records, did they have a mechanism to upload the documents in electronic format to them?  **** answered, "No, we have no way to do that; however if you provide my an electronic upload, I can go and get him."  I confirmed ****** Docs would work.  "He said yes".

Then, the most important question and requirement for my filing.  "If I get you the documents, when would you file my tax return- how long does it take you?"  **** answered that it will take a week from the time they received the documents, to finish the preparation of the taxes".

From that point on, I have a long list of email conversations on: 3/13; 3/15; and an email on 3/19 when I provided them all documents for my taxes via a hyperlink.  Then I sent emails 3/22; 3/23; 3/28; 3/29; and 4/14 when finally I had enough of their incompetence, stalling, and as you can now see based on their lying about what happened-fraud.  (I will attach the email correspondence.  The attachments are private correspondence with PII and links- DO NOT MAKE THOSE DOCUMENTS PUBLIC)

They were asked to a specific thing by a specific time, file a **** ONE WEEK after receiving my Documents.  They failed to due that.  I gave them some time to correct that.  They failed to correct it.  I gave them even more time to correct that and they failed to correct that as well.  I ONLY gave permission for them to file a **** NOT an extension.  They are in breach of contract for failing to deliver services for fitness for a specific purpose which is the filing of a **** by the *** deadline.  The contract become null and void.  I have liquid damages as a result of their fraud. They also failed their fiduciary responsibilities by filing an incorrect extension without my written approval or review of the form prior to submission.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO FILE YOUR TAXES!!
      You have been warned!!

The documents prove the company is fraudulent and are liars even in their response to this complaint!

They are NOT RELIABLE and they will leave you stranded to deal with their incompetence on the *** tax deadline.  That is exactly what happened to me.

I filed my own extension with the ***.  I know must write a letter to the *** explaining their illegal incompetence. I secured a new tax accountant who was able to IMMEDIATELY file my taxes in less than 2 days!

      Regards,

We filed an extension for **************** because he requested for one. He called us from his work phone number with terroristic threats and sent threatening emails through his work email. He has not paid for our service.

The response from the business as usually ignores the facts, makes personal attacks without basis and is incorrect.

I work for the ************** and I have sent no emails from my work address and these would end with a .gov address so it is easy for them to prove otherwise.  Once again, this is yet another lie from the business.  If I made terrorist attacks via email, where is the proof?  I would request the BBB ask for these emails and determine if they are terrorist attacks or baseless allegations.  I have already provided virtually all the email communications to the BBB via prior emails.

The facts of the case are straightforward:

      1. *********** was only authorized and was only given permission to file a long form **** and supporting form for me by the *** deadline!
      2. *********** assured me they would complete my taxes within 1-1.5 weeks from the time they received my information.
        1. *********** failed to deliver the services they promised by the deadline.

                                               i.    I am entitled to a warranty for a specific purpose for services and merchandise and the *** deadline is well known by the ** population and everyone knows the taxes are due by this date.

      1. *********** was NOT authorized to do any other filing on my behalf including an extension.
        1. Also, any extension would only be necessary in the first place, given I sent them documents over a month in advance, based on their negligence or dereliction of duty.
      2. The *** regulations, as well as common sense, would require the company to provide me a copy of any *** filing prior to filing on my behalf, or it is an illegal filing.
      3. The *** regulations, as well as common sense, would require the company to have a written signed letter of engagement or proof that this document was provided to me prior to filing and I had agreed to it.
      4. *********** claims it filed something which based on not doing my taxes and having no tax due means the filing was also completely incorrect and did not follow good accounting practices.

Finally, my intention is not to secure additional money or penalty from the company. I have paid nothing.  *********** is trying to extort money from me for illegal services that I never agreed to, there were performed without my written authorization, that were not provided to me prior to informing the ***, and which was created completely with accounting error.  I just want the company to withdrawal their illegal invoice and to go away-FOREVER.  I dont ever want to do business with them ever again and they will never get a ***** from me.

      Thank you,

Horrible experience! Service is absolutely terrible. Nearly impossible to get help. My returns got audited and now the *** is saying I owe nearly 25k. **** refuses to call me back, return emails, or help get this sorted out correctly. **** was already paid twice for the returns that were audited. Paid almost 1k to file one year with **** and I get audited. I have been trying for over a year to get help with absolutely no luck. When I originally reached out for help, Kami told me they were busy filing customer returns and would get to me in a couple weeks. Months went by. I sent emails and copies of letters from the ***. Still nothing. Went back in a couple weeks ago asking again for help and **** proceeded to tell me that requires time that he does not have, it would take at least 1 year to get fixed, and to not call the *** myself as I would mess things up more by speaking with them. He has since then ghosted all of my attempts to get ahold of him concerning this matter, including the email stating I was going to retain a tax attorney. DO NOT USE! Complete waste of time and caused nothing but bigger problems than ever with absolutely no regard on their end.

Absolute shocker! We helped ****** to file years of tax returns, some of them free. ****** was audited and she responded to the audit without asking for help. Once *** made a decision on the audit, she then brought it to our attention. We asked her to provide the documentation that she provided to the **** but she disappeared for a period of time. When she reappeared, we requested for the documents she provided to the *** in order to help her which she has never provided to us. She claimed she was either (1) too sick to get us the documents we needed or (2) could not reach her ex husband because they were not on friendly terms. In 2021, we helped her file 2008 through 2021 for free and instructed her that we would work with her at the end of the tax season to resolve her case with the *** but she must provide the documentation. ****** has given us flowers and thank you cards for helping her through her various tax issues in the past. We know *** audits can be frustrating for taxpayers but as professionals, we cannot manufacture documents to respond to the **** the taxpayer must provide the documentation needed to respond. Because we were aware that ****** was juggling through many issues, we did all we could to help her out so it is absolutely shocking to get this complaint from her.

I am rejecting this response because:

That is not true what so ever. I have NEVER and I mean NEVER sent flowers or cards. I also have not spoken to the *** myself as I was advised not to by ****. I did consult with a tax attorney but they also did not speak to the *** on my behalf and there is documentation to prove that.

********************** problems started when she responded to ***' correspondence audit without seeking professional help.  She contacted us months after a determination had been made by ***. We were willing to assist with her case contingent on her providing us with copies of the documents she provided to the *** in her reply to the Correspondence Audit. But she has since failed to do so.
