    I moved out of Algerita lakeside Apartments April 30th when I moved out ********************* Office staff.. falsified documents, filed eviction on me after I was moved out, end of lease with a 60 day written notice, when they realized I was in the right they admitted on paper they made an error and assured me it wouldn't affect me in anyway the total that they wanted for the "eviction" turned quickly into made up a bogus list of charges totalling $911 .a charge listed was for water for a month after I moved out. I in writing asked to speak with the owner or corporate to resolve this issue because I felt the I was being harassed by the office staff, I was ignored and they submitted the $911 to collections. People can't just falsify information and ruin peoples credit and make me miss work to fight an eviction after I paid my bills on time and was diligent in properly following procedures when moving out of the property. I have paper proof everything. I know I am not the only person this has happen to. And it's not right. I would like this final false bill to dropped and removed from my credit. Also on my record the eviction does come up.I would like that taken off as well if possible. I feel I had the right to speak with someone regarding charges that were clearly bogus (check water bill date, I moved out April 30th) before they were sent to collections. I would like this resolved and an apology.

    I cannot comment on the move out charges because I did not walk the unit on move out the Asst. *** did. However, if you feel the charges are incorrect the right channel to address this with is the collection agency. We provide all documents and payment work to the collection agency. Therefore, they collect all debts. Meaning the handle all disputes. You are *********** dispute any charge and they can provide you with all information needed. They will also be the source to determine if the charges are valid or need to be removed. This is the general answer given to anyone who dispute move out charges. Make sure you provide where you had the unit professionally cleaned. Also, the move out form you sign when you moved in, you will need to ensure you have proof all those items were taken care of as well. You mention you left the washer/dryer in the unit but turned the keys in. The unit according to our policy cannot be moved out of the system until the day all your belongings are out. Please provide the information where the company came and pick up the washer/dryer. I hope this helps and understand we have a collection for all past debt.     We have lived at this apartment complex for a year, and due to inflexible circumstances we will be staying for another. Since our first day here, we have had problems with the property and management. Our unit was remodeled/updated prior to our moving in, but never completely finished. We submitted maintenance requests immediately as issues arose but many were never addressed, even after multiple submissions. Ceiling fans were unsecured, toilet tanks were full of ants, cockroaches and wasps were somehow constantly entering the unit. Our air conditioning has gone out multiple times and been deemed low priority because other tenants' had as well, but their units were even warmer than ours. We've had to purchase our own cockroach/ant baits and floor fans just to get by. Wasp nests are visible all over the property, and we had one on our porch until recently -- but we still don't feel safe sitting out there due to the risk of letting wasps into our home and due to the general disrepair/dilapidation of the structure. The water or power is cut off with little or no advance notice, for hours at a time. This has occurred at least five times since we have lived here.Recently our car was broken into as an attempted burglary; many others' cars have been broken into, windows smashed, or stolen. Mailboxes are often in disrepair; there is no outgoing mailbox available because it's always broken. Many tenants have been forced to go to the post office to obtain their mail. There is no system for communicating that the office has received a package for you. There are rumors of assaults against women after dark. This place is not safe.Management does nothing. They send threatening emails about how they can tow your car and about late rent (to the entire community, no matter your rent timeliness/parking pass). We've had to remind them to renew our lease and to post our rent. When spoken to directly, they never provide solutions. They do not express anything like care or concern.

    None of these things are true. Just like *********** every area in town, everyone has been dealing with vehicle being stolen. This resident just renewed. Therefore, if they were not happy they had an option to put in notice. All claims in this complaint is not validated.

    I reject this response because the business has responded that none of this is true, while in actuality it is all true and verifiably true. That I renewed my lease is no secret I mentioned it in my initial complaint but due to financial constraints, I cannot afford to move at this time. Stating that I could have simply given notice suggests that if I didnt like it here then I could leave; unfortunately, I could not simply leave. I made this complaint in order to improve my community and to advise potential residents of the current state of affairs.

    Alagarita Apartments is and apartment community with concerns to make sure we provide our residents with excepational service and great living conditions. We continue to address all work tickets and community concerns. SAPD is a job is dedicated to improving the quality of life by creating a safe environment  in partnership with the people we serve. Therefore, Algarita does not have the answers to stopping crimes such as car theft that has affected *********** as a whole. We ask residents to following the rules and guidelines in the legal binding lease contract to help mitigate the negative crimes happening across the city. We will not send out notices for crimes in which we directly are not invloved in. We will refer everyone to the news and the local police department. This will help keep the information given correct and precise to what the professional (SAPD) suggest and states. We are apologetic we can not do more. This is why we only lease to residents that meet our application quailfactions. We practice and follow all fair housing laws. Wherein, we are currently making changes we feel we help address resident concerns and make Algarita a better place to live.

    I am rejecting this response because it again fails to acknowledge the many other facts provided in my initial complaint. Potential tenants need to be aware of all of these issues, not just the one selected in this latest or any other response, which is another deflection of liability.

    That aside, I will address what brief and specific response the business has provided. I should clarify for the business that the "changes" currently being made -- as stated in its latest response -- are only possible, not in progress, yet to be seen, and these "changes" are merely pursuant to the meeting I initiated with the property manager, in which he explicitly confirmed that everything in my complaint is factual. While I appreciate that the property cannot "send out notices for crimes," for instance, the property manager did make it clear to me that they CAN do more. This response is hugely underwhelming. The manager advised that he would be looking into stepping up security, for one thing, but this response does not acknowledge that or anything in the way of real change.

    I want this corrected and removed from my credit report. I was asked to leave Algarita for no reason after 8 years. I had no complaints against me and never paid my rent late. Copy of the letter left on my door is attached. We moved out as indicated. Paid balance of $366 at time of move out. Algarita needs to review books and stop harassing me.

    The Algarita Lakeside apartments still have not given me a mailbox key since I moved in April 2022. The mailbox section that my apartment #**** is in, is broken. The apartments say they have the replacement mailboxes but have not been installed. The ************* *********** has given the apartments several notices to fix this issue. I'd like this issue resolved, it is very costly to go pick up my mail from the post office frequently.

    Car was towed in a spot numbered 44 and was NOT marked as reserved as some other spots are. After reading our lease agreement, emails, and texts regarding parking in the apartment complex, the reason for towing was not legal based on their policies and Bexar County rules/regulations for towing.The assistant manager said that even though it is not marked as reserved, if there is a number on the spot it is considered reserved and a parking permit for that particular space needs to be purchased by a resident. We have pictures of the spot which has a number but is NOT marked reserved. I currently am paying for one spot for one of our cars each month and have paid my rent/expenses on time each month with no delay.The policy the assistant manager does not corroborate with the written policies sent BEFORE the permits were enabled/enforced in June 2022. Any policy updates after the initial emails/texts have not been forwarded or communicated to any of the residents. In a follow-up email after my in-person meeting with the assistant manager, I attached every single email/text received from Algarita Lakeside Apartments/************** in an email re-capping our conversation. I also included the invoice from ******** ************** and their reason for towing was "reserved space, called in by management". Also emailed them my signed lease agreement specifically outlining parking rules/regulations. I've asked for reimbursment of the amount paid for releasing the car from impound lot of the towing company.

    I moved into Algarita Lakeside Apartments on 6/17/2022 and since day 1 I have been having nothing but lease and payments issues. My payments and lease were and are not done correctly. I started the moving process in April and I was given a different apartment which was **** well a week before move in I was told they will be moving me over to **** and that I was given the same lease amount as **** which was $1229 for the inconvenience. **** was originally $1309. I was also given a $300 first month off promo. A prorated amount from June *****th $307 and a 1st month prorated amount July **** of $618 including the $300. I paid my $150 admin fee and $150 deposit in April but I don't think they switched it over to the **** apartment because they applied my $307 payment towards application fee when it should have been applied to June prorated rent. I also paid my $618 July 1 rent on July 3 which puts me updated on everything and now I get a letter stating I have 3 days to move out due to termination of lease due to non payment. I called the leasing office and continue to get the run around. So I am asking my monies be applied as they should correctly for the correct apartment. Also I was promised a new front door due to safety reasons and still have not received it. Dishwasher is broken upon move in sitting mildew water. And refrigerator had knats in it which I was told I would be getting a new one and none of these has been done. I finally got a mailbox key 7/6/2022 after moving in 6/17/2022. Dog p*** was in my ac closet upon moving in as well. Roaches everywhere.

    This business is my landlord and since October of last year I have been attempting to get them to perform maintenance on a broken dishwasher to no avail. I have repeatedly sent requests only to have them shown later on the request website as completed. Calls and emails to the corporate office go unanswered. They had made one halfhearted attempt at performing maintenance Showing up after I had advised them I would not be home and then saying they could not enter because of my dog.Recently before I went on a extended out of town trip my garbage disposal stopped working and half of my sink no longer drains. Prior to my departure I sent them a new request to fix these issues while I was out of town and my apartment would be empty but they failed to do so. Several weeks later I received a request from them asking to schedule a time for them to perform repairs. A day and time was provided but again they failed to perform maintenance on the needed repairs. I greatly need assistance.
