My vehicle was repaired there in 2022 after an accident with an uninsured driver where I ended up paying this shop out of pocket $4000 to repair my 2016 4Runner. Part of that repair was replacing the front bumper. In June of ************************************** the front right fender, as part of this repair at a different shop, they had to remove the bumper to inspect for damage. When they tried removing the bumper they found out it was glued in place with some sort of epoxy. Here is a statement from the other shop: Hello **********. As per our conversation here are some photos that were taken at the time of drop off and what was found during tear down. As you can see in the drop off photos 3/7 there is no physical damage to the front bumper but it does need to be removed in order to replace the fender. In the following images you can see that there is a glue material that is on the fender and the bumper bracket. In closer observation in photos ***** you can see the substance closer after speaking with the tech it was determine that the glue substance is actually panel bond. A material used when attaching bed sides on a truck bed or when replacing a outer door panel skin. In photo 28 the tech brought it to my attention that there were clips missing that is used to secure the upper part of the bumper to the upper retainer brace.Southwest Paint and Body, ******* an estimator and **** a General Manager have refused to cover the cost of replacing my bumper and repainting it the correct way since it had to be ripped off of my car because it was glued in place.
