      In Oct, '22, I had a leak in the ****************** wall. I had a broken ********* was reported to Safeco. I was assigned to a claims rep (he). After receiving all my ********************* He stated there may be two claims. In working with the claims rep, he never checked on the progress of my repairs nor ask any questions. I did ask questions which did not always get answered. He had 2 mitigation companies in my home & an independent adjuster. All 3 said Safeco would replace my flooring in the bathroom, hallway. ****************** as well as replace the kitchen cabinets. On 12/9, **** was out of the office for 5 days. (Within a month, **** was out of the office 12 days). On 12/14 & 12/15 I received calls saying my claim was denied & an email on 12/16. The denial was dated 12/9. One report wasn't submitted until 12/14. I sent the claims rep a 9-page appeal on the denial. He kept using the excuse that they were receiving 35 claims a week due to the East Coast storms that happened a month after I submitted my claim. He stated he would back with me within a couple of days. A week later, the claims rep said he was approving a partial claim. He would get back with me soon. Within a couple of hours, I received another denial letter. At this time, I didn't realize he denied a claim I never filed! He said to file another claim. The new adjuster made it very clear that filing another claim was not going to work. She stated it would hurt my insurance credit. She stated she read over all the documents & was still denying the claim. In the few hours she had me, there is no way she could have read over 100 pages of documents. The denial was a 14-day timeline on the sewage line. Hum...I didn't fil a claim for my sewage line.

      I have been with the company since ****. I've had my share of issues but nothing to where it couldn't get resolved until now. I recently received a statement for my home insurance stating they increased my dwelling on my property (something that I didn't request) causing my premium to go up which in turned cause my house payment to go up. The premium went up to a $1,000.00 more. When I called to asked why. They told me that the rate increased in my state & building materials have gone up. So basically I'm being penalized for other people claims that they are struggling to cover. I've only had to file 2 claims since ****. I have been a loyal ************ have their best home owners plan that you can have. And the only thing they suggested was to raise my deductible or add my vehicles on.

      I wish I had read the negative reviews of Safeco before they bought my old company. They epitomize the delay, deny, defend strategy insurance companies increasingly use to avoid paying their clients claims. Weve paid insurance (Safeco and the company they bought out) since l990 and have made only two claims- a previous leak from a broken pipe and a current leak. Their customer representative told us that they do not pay for mold that is more than 3 weeks old, but we were out of town and had seen no mold the last time we were in the basement. The government should regulate the insurance industry whose clients pay for years and then when you need them, they find excuses not to pay claims.

      If I could give them a zero I would. They have horrible customer service, who hung up/disconnected me 4 times. Canceled our policy after years of coverage, did not update mailing address when new renter policy was initiated. Said they sent exclusion documents which were never received obviously because of not updating the address, etc. I have never left a review like this on any business but feel people should know if they do the research like we didn't. Good luck.

      They drag their feet at every stage of the insurance process. I am going to switch insurance company at the earliest feasible time.

      I've had Safeco insurance since January of ************************************************************************************************************ my claims process even as much as explaining to me what my new monthly bill would be. My insurance didn't go up by much for the uninsured motorist claims and recently I'm dealing with a collision claim that they are fighting not at fault. Safeco hasn't let me down yet and I'm sure they won't.

      If I could give them no stars I would ! This company does not care about their customers ! They made major mistakes with my home owners insurance and then when called about they laughed at me and canceled my home insurance now 2 months later they are now saying they are dropping my automobile insurance .saying something about ticket from 2019 same ticket I already had when they accepted me in 2021 I fell like I am being poked at for there faults .. I will never use this company again if you were smart you would stay as far away from them as possible

      This is the most incompetent company I have ever dealt with. The customer service is horrible. The representatives are rude and give inconsistent information. This is the first time I have ever complained about any company. If you loved being on the phone for hours and get a kick out of being transferred a million time this is the insurance for you!!!

      *************************** *****. What a joke to work with her. I'm glad I don't get my insurance through this scam because I would cancel immediately. She doesn't return calls or answer her phone. She was very nice before she had to give any money to have my car fixed and now that I need more because they didn't give me enough she's a c*nt.

      UNSAFECO: I hope my claims investigator gets fired.I was discriminated against for being transgender and mistakes with my claim lead to an incredible amount of emotional distress, using paid time off, missing personal time, and being up late with anxiety. I am disgusted and utterly exhausted. Avoid this company at all costs. They are incompetent, pushy and the behavior of the claims investigator was literally emotionally abusive. Let me tell you the full story...1) I submit my claim for a stolen motorcycle. Yes, I wait 6 days because no one ever explained to me I needed to file right away. I was waiting to see if I could get the security tapes from my apartment complex for the police report. I call to submit my claim after filing a report. ******** service agent messes up my address because her system couldn't find it so she puts in my previous one.2) I wait 5 days to hear back. They finally call back. Agent gives me next steps. Does *not* tell me my claim is being investigated for fraud. Wtf. The mismatched address and the title being under my previous name trigger this. It should've been obvious with my legal name change court papers I was trans and not trying to commit fraud.3) It gets so much worse. Extremely pushy claims investigator calls me during a work meeting. I spend an hour on the phone, not being told until *afterward* she was recording for an investigation ??. By this point I've spent an hour pto and am incredibly distressed.4) Agent insists i get my incident report which I was never given...which requires a fee...which she has on her end already but has to wait to obtain. Pressures me to get it to close her case, using delayed payment repeatedly as leverage. She calls back again on a Friday night while I'm eating dinner and continues to pressure me. I spend another hour insisting I wasnt given the info and don't know how to get it. Her pressuring continues. Please save yourself the abuse and avoid this company!
