    Blatantly lied to me and doing their best to make a 109% legitimate claim to go away. As a matter of principle I will fight them all the way to a lawsuit because the facts are on my side and they blatantly lied to me over the phone. Do not trust this company to help you when you have a claim, run and run fast.

    While Safeco initially appeared to be a suitable choice, I encountered significant challenges with their customer service. The staff seemed undertrained and were not particularly helpful. Consequently, I decided to cancel my car insurance policy before its end date. Although I initiated a stop payment request, Safeco issued a refund that was $2 less than expected.Their customer service and billing departments were not clear in explaining the discrepancy, attributing it to a "service account fee" despite the policy not being renewed. After my bank approved the stop payment, I requested that the refunded amount be reversed. Instead of resolving the issue, Safeco sent me a bill for the full amount plus $2, making it an extra $4 for their service fee. I highlighted that even credit card companies do not charge service fees when no balance is due; however, this point was ignored.Overall, I found Safeco's employees lacked competence, and their policies were challenging. Despite a potentially higher cost, it may be worthwhile to opt for an insurance provider that demonstrates reliability and effective customer support. I recommend exercising caution when considering Safeco as a service provider.

    cancelled my one year paid in full policy after two and a half months with no prior notice, just sent me a letter of cancellation with a check for only 50% of the policy value. impossible to find a living breathing safeco employee to talk to for resolution.

    The absolute worst. They will not fallow their own policy. The customer service is horrible. Will not return emails, calls, text. But they will charge you high prices. The only thing they will do for you. When something happens they'll write a contract for how they're going to take of of stuff. Then won't do what they wrote in the contract. Avoid Safeco a part of ************** at all cost.

    Raised my yearly premium by $700 for no reason, when I called, they basically said it is what it is. I decided to use them for a claim the year after, because the retaining wall in my backyard had fallen over. They first told me it was weather related and therefor, not covered. I said it wasn't weather related and in fact due to a groundhog digging under it. They then said no (again) and sent me a list of local contractors that do work... so nice of them.I went over my policy and saw that anything connected to the house or any extension of the house is covered. Well guess what, this wall is connected to the deck. I called them and instead of re-opening the claim (that was marked closed against my wishes) they joyfully asked me to make a new claim. I didn't , and I'm glad I didn't because the following year, this ONE DENIED CLAIM raised my annual premium by $300.I've since switched to State Farm who is lovely, and also $1000 cheaper for the same coverage Safeco offered.Safeco / Liberty Mutual are awful and I will NEVER recommend them to anyone, and refuse to work with any insurance agent who suggests or even offers Safeco / ************** coverage.

    Didnt log our cancellation phone call then sent us to collections. Hung up on me when I called back. How this company gets away with this is beyond me. Oh we were 15 year long customers.

    After filing a claim, as I hit a deer, my vehicle was determined to be a total loss. My agent was terrible with communication. I would send texts that he would not respond to and when I would finally get ahold of him by me calling, he would provide false info at first and offered a condescending apology when he was called out on it and his lack of communication. Customers are not valued once so ever! Now I'm stuck without a vehicle, have to go 45 mins out of the way-assuming I find a ride, to get a rental that I would have just kept had I known the correct info. ****** how these companies have no courteousy or consideration for their customers. I will not renew with this company, will never have this insurance again, and will warn everyone I can about them. Do better Safeco.

    Horrible and unethical people. The agent was very condescending, aggressive, and very rude. I did not understand some of the questions he was asking, so I asked him to explain himself. He said no because I was going to use it against him to try to get a better claim result. We went back and forth, argued, and insulted each other. I then asked for his supervisor, which he denied, stating there was no one else but him. Long story short, after half a year of arguing, he involved his company's attorneys, and they denied my claim for hail damage and a stolen catalytic converter. I hate safeco auto! It's the worst insurance company ever

    This company activated an insurance policy for a home I didnt even purchase then after a month cancelled it for non payment but never made me aware of the policy being active or cancelled for non payment then reported it to a collection agency. I have spent over 12 hours trying to get it resolved with them but this billion dollar company is incompetent. I have 3 vehicles on auto insurance , two homes and a personal property policy that have always been on auto pay and in good standing and they cant seem to figure out this was a mistake on there behalf . I will be shopping for new insurance tomorrow and spreading the world how atrocious this company is.
