Mr and Mrs ***** are pretending to be victims. They mislead small businesses for a living.
They gave me an ultimatum and a deadline. The agreement they signed conflicts with his demands.
They want the money back I have already explained the payment was for material.I have explained that to them from the start.I showed up to do the job Mr ***** revealed his scam over 2 hours of listening to him brag about how good hearted he is while at the same time bragging about their scams.I tried to leave their materials on the job and he said not to..
They also run ******* ********* apartments.Made an agreement with us to roof the apartment complex wasting thousands of my dollars and 100s of hours of my time based on Mr and Mrs ****** request, phone calls text and several meetings. Not to mention having us climb 2 story's high and give detailed bid on all buildings in the complex.
This is the biggest most disgusting thing I have seen in 30 years in the business.
I'm glad the bbb is involved so these people get exposed and no other small businesses get taken like us.
I would like to resolve the matter, however I am rejecting ******* dishonest complaint.
Thank you for the opportunity to get this matter taken care of and behind us.
Our agreement states Advantage Roofing must be notified by certified mail within 2 business days to terminate the agreement. Therefore I do not owe a refund and as I've told him several times I have his material just tell me where to meet and drop it off.
      Thank you ,
      ***** *****
P.S.I have all the text and call logs that back up everything I have stated.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. ***** is a scorned business owner and has made numerous attempts to discredit our name. We hired him to replace roofing on an apt complex. He did make an appearance at the complex several times due to his inability to provide us an estimate. We realize his business is small in comparison and that is why we wanted to extend the job to him. At the same time we offered him another job on a single home. He agreed to take both jobs. During this time, he visited the single home and our tools were stolen that our teenage son worked hard for and paid for with his own money. There were several other items that were taken at the time as well. When we confronted Mr. *****, he denied everything and never confessed that he had even gone into the house. It was later, after calling the Sheriff, who knew Mr. ***** well by reputation, and treating to get the law involved that Mr. ***** admitted he had gone into the home. He tried to say that it was an old tenant who stole the items. If it was an old tenant, the tenant would have known that the Television that was stolen, did not work. Our long term neighbor admitted that Mr. ***** had been the only person who had been on our property since we were last on the property as were the missing items.
He claims that we are running a scam. First, we did not ask for money. We gave money for a job that was never completed. It is a blunt lie that he bought materials, spent 100’s of hours and tried to complete the job. He purchased materials with the money we gave him. He showed up and then told us he bought the wrong things. He wanted to use a certain type of plywood. If he wanted a certain kind, why did he buy the wrong one originally? He never returned after buying the wrong material. If you look at contract, there were several scratch through. Reason being, he quoted us for a certain amount of wood. We knew it was going to take more than what he was saying. So, on contract he scratched out his quote and put in the increased amount of wood that we knew were needed. He is incompetent and does not know what is needed to roof a building.  We do not gain anything by scamming him. What is the scam? What is the benefit? We are a family trying to make it and who are tired of being ripped off by people like Mr. ***** and would like to warn anyone who takes it seriously, who they do business with.
      Time line:
2/4/2022 -Signed contract and paid $1100 by check
      2/7/2022 – Check was cashed
2/8/2022 – Showed up with materials he purchased incorrectly
2/14/2022 – We contacted him since we did not hear from him, wanting status of job
2/15/2022 – He texted us saying job was postponed.
2/18/2022 – Again we contacted him about job status, he responds the same as before with “postponed”. We asked if he was going to do the job or return money. Again, he responds “postponed”. He asked us to call. When we called him he was intoxicated and stated he did not have the man power. We asked when we could expect the job to be done. He said he did not have a schedule.
2/23/2022 – Again, we asked status. Again he was intoxicated and told us that some jobs takes up to 6 months.
3/9/2022 – We asked for our money back. We had waited enough. We told him we were going to file a complaint if the money was not returned.
We hired someone else to do the job and it has been completed, he texts us almost daily with incomprehensible text and harassment. If he cannot do the job, the job will go to the best offer. We interviewed several roofers and the one with the best time line, pricing, communication etc. is who got our business. We are happy to share our text messages and VM from him with anyone who needs the additional validation.

      Sincerely,

      ******** *****

******* response just verifies what I said in my first reply.
I was never confronted and the sherrif doesn't know me.
The scam was giving me a 187k job, having me purchase insurance for the job acting like all was good then revealing his scam and other scams he's pulled on other contractors in the past.
Perhaps they got me to get the 2million dollar contractor insurance for the apartment complex to file on me to get the nearly condemned dumpy renthouse rebuilt off my insurance .
I don't really know how scammers think.I just know they lie and hurt people with no remorse.
***** admitted to giving me 2 jobs one 187k job.
I'm done with them they showed their colors in the last reply.
He broke the contract bottom line.No refund will be given.I bought materials for the dumpy house and showed up to do the job.He was rude and arrogant and also revealed I no longer had the apartment job.Up until that day I didn't know he was part owner of the apartment job as I dealt with his wife the whole time.Very telling that he admitted in his last response they were both in on it together.
Use the big apartment job to get work done dumpy houses for cheap.
***** did tell me the tenant he evicted stole a dryer and outlets or something. The 1st time I looked at the job another roofer was there measuring it. ***** was telling him about apartment complex too.
As a result of his shady business practice I lost thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of my time and gas. They never planned to roof those apartments or definetly didn't plan to use the small businesses that bid on it.All a scam to get cheap or free work done on dumpy houses. My son with a newborn baby also put in a ton of $$,gas and time which he paid for with his own $$.30 years in business never met such heartless people just to waste our time like that .A donkey and a carrot.
At any rate we can make arrangements to get him his materials as the $$ was spent on the materials.
Will be interesting to see what stupid lies, excuses and insults ****** will use to justify their actions.
      Thank you,
      ***** *****
All I did wrong was trust people and it cost us time and $$

      Thank you,
