My mother died in January of this year. In mourning, I forgot to renew my health insurance. I had no co pay and it covered my over the phone psychiatrist appointments. When my insurance stopped working. I was never asked, told, notified. Nothing. Each month I wasn't asked for a co pay or asked to pay for the appointment. I had been seeing him for over a year to help me with mental issues because of my mother dying. After 3 or 4 months. During the beginning of one of my monthly appointments, I was told that I owed them 800 or 900 dollars. I was so confused. And asked why. I was told my insurance hadn't worked all year, so my debt had been accumulating those months. I was asked if I could pay it or if I wanted to make monthly payments. But she also informed me that from now on I would have to pay $175 each sesson on the phone. And they wanted me to make monthly payments. The Doctor said when I could. But his receptionists are so rude. They would never anything easy for me. Even giving me the wrong fax number. When my health insurance paid for my sessions. He was very patient, we would talk for 30 minutes and more. When I started paying for the sessions with my own money, the sessions last between 5 and 10 minutes. He has been trying to find me the right medicine for my mental problems I'm trying to get help for a year and a half, maybe 2 years. Anytime I call to talk to a receptionist and ask them to ask the doctor a Question for me, like he has repeatedly told me I could anytime. But anytime I do. I am told I cannot, I have to make an appointment and pay 175 to ask a question. But yesterday was the last time I could take it. I've been having horrible memory problems and we were in the process of addressing it. But he was supposed to take me off of a certain medication but never mention it. I tried to contact them multiple times in multiple ways. I don't know what I need to do. I have a month worth of medicine. I was never notified of debt owed until months later.
