Upon moving into my apartment at green tree place on 05/24/2022 I was first given false information on the monthly rent costs. I started out paying 1,248 dollars and was told I needed to rent a washer and dryer for my unit!! I was appalled to find out I had no washer and dryer for the amount I was paying and this was NOT stated to me that the unit would have no washer and dryer. After a few months of paying rent my last and final rent(which I just could not afford anymore) was 1,495.00 when asking why my rent increased by hundreds Natalie the receptionist proceeded to tell me “yeah that’s how it goes. I work here for my apartment” and was directed to talk to the owner. This was even more of a spiral downward. There was no card she gave me to contact corporate NOR the owner of the complex. After speaking with her and letting her know my situation that I was NOT going to be able to afford the apartment anymore due to the increase she then tells me I did not give her proper notice!! This apartment was breaking me and I was not working as many hours. The apartment now tells me I owe them 4800. I nicely emailed them in regards to this stating I would make payments and I then was told only if I pay 20% right this instance or I’d be taken to collection on 12/04/2022!! After I explained to her my situation and wasn’t even fighting the complex on making payments I just could not afford 880 dollars right now. I’m complaining due to this apartments lack of empathy. My daughter and I are living in Tennessee with my sister in a living room while I try and find a job and willing to give me 40 hours with pay increase! I was not against making any payments! But now I’m floored at the amount of time I was given before I get sent to collections! I shouldn’t get sent to ANY collections if I’m offering the complex SOME kind of payment for leaving due to my financial situation. I would’ve been in the street if I wouldn’t have moved out! This disgusting and unsanitary complex is so sad
