    This is a complaint about SimpleBill; a completely unnecessary and incompetent third-party system used to pay utility bills. It is an insult to the average renter to utilize such a company, as if we cannot take responsibility for our own bills. It is a very simple process that SimpleBill complicates. By not allowing me and the thousands of other renters access to our own utility bills, SimpleBill has been allowed to over-charge, scam and commit fraud. There is not one thing they do that is a convenience to its customers. Rather, we are hostages because we had no other choice than to use their "service". My experience is like too many others. Charges that do not make sense, being charged well after my move out date, money stolen from my accounts. I urge anyone who uses them to complain to your landlord until they change. ******* their services until they are run out of business. Do not rent from anyone who utilizes this company. The only resolution is to make sure this company can no longer operate. We are all buried under pages of legal contracts that does not protect us in any way. We signed over our money to them because we were not given a choice. Leave reviews and file complaints. Do not be quiet about the ill practices of this company!

    This company is a **** and committing FRAUD. They make up numbers without any explanation and do not allow their customer services agents to explain their charges. They refused to cancel my bill when I moved out early and charged an absorbent amount for the final bill. They claimed it was an estimate based on my previous months bills and weather patterns, but it came out to double any calculation I could come up with. I predict a class action will be filed against them within the next 3 years. They truly are committing FRAUD!

    Simplebills is horrible. They don't allow you to pay a partial payment online, multiple bills are added into one with no option for an extension, they forward your balance to the rental company which can potentially evict you over your UTILITIES if the funds are not paid by a certain date, even if your rent is already paid in full they don't care. If I pay a portion of the bill by calling in they tell you if the rest of the balance is not paid by the due date they won't forward the remaining balance to the property, they will forward the full balance as if you never paid anything on the bill. Simple bills has been nothing but stressful and there is nothing simple about it. Simple bills should not exist. I live in a house not apartment, I don't receive assistance, there is no reason why I should be forced out my house if this bill is not paid by the due date. If the utility companies themselves allow you to make payment arrangements/extensions why can't "simple" bills. With that being said they over charge each utility. There is no way my gas bill should be $145 in the summer time. When I paid my bill directly to the company before being forced to use simple bills my summer bills ranged from $40-$80 during summer months in my previous house which was bigger. The house Im in is all electric so why would my gas bill be this high?

    Simple Bills way over estimated my last months utilities and forced me to pay the made up bill they made up. Avoid them at all costs.

We account for your personal consumption patterns for your utilities when we estimate your final bill.  After looking at your past bills, we also factor in historical weather trends and bill history for your property and region. Our goal is to make your estimated final bill as accurate as possible. This final billing procedure is disclosed in our Terms of Service, Section 5, which was agreed to upon sign up, and since we are working in conjunction with your property you should have received a notice to prepare you for this type of final billing

    TERRIBLE COMPANY!! They made my account negative after I already paid them on the 6th and took out more money today. They have too many fees and can nothing for the resident. They only care about the rental company that they work with. I am so tired of dealing with them.They threw TWO electric bills onto one bill - the same week rent was due... They WILL NOT work with you, and they will not help you, they're only priority is the property management company - yet they make us pay for the service when we want absolutely nothing to do with it! Everyone should report this company, they are literally just making money off of us paying our utilities and making it impossible to work with them because they will not help you any sort of way.AVOID THIS COMPANY!! DO NOT RENT WITH A COMPANY THAT USES THEM!! I most certainly regret it.

    This is absolutely the worse company and should be ***d. They charge you astronomical fees to pay them. They estimate the final bill and keep the overage for themselves. Landlords bewarethis company hurts YOUR brand and marketing. Dont do business with this company. Its a terrible business and business model. Please someone *** them to stop them from taking advantage of tenants.

    DO NOT rent anywhere that uses SimpleBills! The final bill comes in as an estimate and is grossly higher than the previous months. Not to mention, the apartment went from 5 tenants to 1 for the last 60 days. Therefore, the ******************* usage would have been much less. Since the apartment complex is no longer using SimpleBills next year, they cannot provide me with the true up difference. I am certain that if the true up was more than estimated, they would figure out a way to collect that!!!

    I can't even "log in" to pay my bill, it just gets stuck at the loading screen and won't do anything. Its incredibly dishonest and scammy. How am I supposed to check or pay if I can't even see it? Not to mention how I "automatically pay" even though it's been months and I have never been able to access the account

    Simple Bill generates an estimated bill that you have to pay upfront. Once the final bill comes in, whether it is overpaid or underpaid (usually overpaid), they charge you a $5 fee per service. I asked why they just don't wait and bill the correct amount; the only explanation was that they can't. But they can bill me for not paying enough but NOT paying too much, which they keep for themselves unless I contact them and request a refund which takes two months to receive, and then they charge you $5 to get it back. I understand this company may make it easier for the rental company but it is not for the renter. Please avoid using Simple Bills if you can.

    They charged me over $1,000 for one water bill which was generally $20. My account was not set up on auto pay. They charged me although there was a ticket in with maintenance for a water leak. Shut them down . Scam artists.
