I entered into a lease on 9/8/23 for the property at ******************* and moved in on 9/8 as well. On my move in inspection on 9/15/23 I noted that there were roaches present. Because my lease stated I was responsible for pest control I had already had the duplex sprayed on 9/12/23. I advised HOT Rentals that I would have the property sprayed again in 2 weeks, which I did. They advised me that if I saw roaches again after that to let them know and they would take care of it. This was a verbal conversation when I turned in my walkthrough inspection. I continued to spray an over the counter insect killer weekly around all baseboards. After being gone for a week when I returned on 11/25/23 I immediately noticed roaches in the kitchen. After pulling out the appliances I noticed mouse f**** behind them and in the back of several cabinets. I notified HOT rentals on 11/27 and they sent maintenance out that day to set a couple of large mouse traps and spray for roaches. I have seen several very small in the kitchen since then. On 12/14 I found a ***** in a dish I pulled out of a cabinet while preparing dinner. The next evening another crawled across the end table in my living room while I was watching television. The morning of 12/15 my son and I heard noises coming from the kitchen but couldnt figure out what it was and had to leave for school. On 12/17 I heard mice squeaking and scurrying in the kitchen cabinets and oven. That afternoon my neighbor (other half of duplex) told me that she had heard the same noises. We pulled out her stove and the floor was covered in sawdust from the holes chewed on the bases of the cabinets mixed with mouse f**** Her and I both submitted maintenance requests. I went to the leasing office on 12/18 to explain that I cannot live with a rodent and ***** infestation. I spoke with the Property Manager (***). I would like to terminate my lease.
