    Our mother prepaid for her funeral services and cremation with Lunn's in 1997. She passed on May 16, 2022 and we contacted Lunn's to arrange for the services for which she had prepaid. They were professional and courteous, however when asked what was included in "services" they seemed to struggle to define exactly what that included. My sisters along with my wife met with them, ordered the number of death certificates we wanted and decided on when and in what papers to publish the obit. We also discussed (and later called to verify) that we were going to have the services on Saturday, June 11, 2022. They made note of this and showed up on the day of the memorial and assisted as ushers and helped deliver flowers that were sent to their location. In early July, I received a statement that simply showed an amount due with no detail. It showed an additional $832 owed in addition to the prepaid amount (I believe it was $2370). When I called to inquire as to the detail of these charges I was told it included the certificates (I was expecting this), the charge from the papers for the obituaries (I had forgotten about this charge) and then was told there is an additional $350 "overtime" charge for services on the weekend. I asked to speak to someone else and was connected to someone who I believe was either an owner or manager (I'm sorry I can't remember his name). He reiterated the charge for weekend services and I replied that we should have been informed of this charge beforehand. He claimed that he has sat in with funeral directors and they "always" mention this, then went on to say "whether it was said to you or not, those are our charges" They were clear and upfront about charges for certificates and obits but neglected, with opportunity through several conversations about the service date, to inform us of this additional charge. Therefore I do no feel we should be held to this charge and ask that our billing be adjusted to omit this charge.
