On June 2, 2023 a client I advocate for was harassed and discriminated against at Harmon’s grocery store in West Jordan, Utah for having a (VERY well behaved) service dog in the store. She was approached by two different managers 4 times. First telling her she couldn’t have her dog in the store and she needed to leave, then telling her Harmons Policy trumps federal law, then she was told she could continue shopping but the dog had to be taken out to the car, then the manager tried to play with and touch the dog that was wearing a vest that said “SERVICE DOG, DO NOT TOUCH”, then was told the police would be called. Her fully trained service dog didn’t leave her side the entire time she was in the store. She has a deadly food allergy and her dog can detect if it’s in the food she’s buying because it’s not always listed or has been cross contaminated. On top of that, she also has a heart condition that causes her to faint unexpectedly. Her dog lets her know when her heart is acting up so she has time to sit down instead of having a hard fall in the middle of the store. The managers and staff are not properly trained in ADA laws, which tells me every single person with a disability that goes into one of their stores is NOT safe, and could be threatened to be kicked out for using medical equipment to help keep them alive, too. Would they have threatened to take my oxygen tank away? I need it to stay alive just as much as my client needs her service dog to stay alive.

On 8/27/21 my wife Shantel H********* had an fueled up her 2013 Toyota Camry which she had driven over 300 miles since her last fuel up. She filled up with gas at this Harmon's which cost $45.14. She then drove under 3 miles in which time the engine struggling before it finally wouldn't run anymore. She called me and I left work to check the car out. I could not get the car to start either. I called Randy's Tire and Muffler and they had a tow truck come pick up the car from Rockwell Blvd. just off 14600 S. Within the hour of fueling up the tow truck had picked up the car to take to Randy's located at ***** ** ******* ***  On Monday August 30th Randy's called us and told us the issue with the car is the tank if full of dirty gas and has clogged up the fuel system. He said they need to drain the tank and clean out the pump and fuel lines. We in formed Harmon's of the issue and they refuse to pay the mechanic bill which is $489.06 for tow and repair. They did reimburse the fuel
