This institution (CareerStep, Career Step, CareerCert, and Carrus) is not an accredited school for a coding program. I fell victim to being promised a three-month extension if I left reviews on BBB, ******* and Trustpilot, took a screenshot of those reviews and emailed them to the school. All I got was the run around from a woman at Career Step who kept emailing me back saying I was sending it to the wrong email from Career Step and she had the same email I was told to send my emails to. I even called and verified that. I never received an extension. Pell Grants are not accepted. This company was sued by the *** for violating several Acts. Here is a link to the official judgement issued:******************************************************************************************** is a link to the press release from 7/30/24:********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************* is a link to the Case Summary for case and proceedings:********************************************************************************************************* There is also a number on the ******* website that you may contact with any questions.

I have completed the online portion of the CareerStep Pharmacy Technician program within 11 months. With 1 month still left in the program, the program is supposed to assist me in getting an externship position. However, they indicated that I must pay more money to complete the unpaid 180 hours PT externship training. There was nothing in the contract that said the unpaid portion of the training must be completed within the 12 month timeframe. I am instead trying to pursue getting a position on my own since I am not receiving the help that I was supposed to receive. This particular program is affiliated with the ******************.

Thank you for reaching out with your concerns, and congratulations on completing the online portion of the Pharmacy Technician program! It sounds like youve made great *********** clarify, our program is designed to be completed within 12 months, and the unpaid 180-hour externship is an essential component of achieving ASHP accreditation. Since **** has specific standards, we need to be directly involved in coordinating your externship to ensure the training site meets those requirements, including conducting site inspections. This involvement is necessary to maintain the quality and accreditation of the program. If you would like to continue with an ****-accredited externship, we would be happy to work with you to secure a placement. We have excellent partner sites in **** that are ready to host you and help you complete your 180-hour training.Should you need more time, extensions are available to help accommodate your schedule. Please let us know if youd like assistance in moving forward with this or if you have any other questionswere here to support you.

Its 0 Stars MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING COURSE IS A SCAM!! Do NOT DO IT!!!!Quizzes repeat and the course does not show you the answers to the quizzes. Youre better off reading the whole textbook chapters to get through the quiz. In order to even get to the quizzes you have to go through tedious videos that you cannot fast forward or just read the transcript. Also the first 22 modules were on nonsense about computer technology and how cellular data travels. Its a complete waste of time and the guy who helps you sign up is super pushy and gets irritated with your questions. If you sign up for any courses and dont like it. You only have 14 days to reverse your contract. $3500 down the drain for a bogus course. I spoke to a **** today he was nice and listened to my frustrations but, of course could not do anything. Another guy I called today did not get his name was a jerk and was frustrated when I told him I couldnt hear him.

This school is horrible, I spent over 2k for absolutely nothing. Went thru the whole course, got all my certificates, only to get shoved aside when it came time for my externship, come to find out Texas doesn't require one, they basically begged someone to do it, and when I called to see when my schooling was done, I had 5 days, told who I was talking to that I wasn't going to finish by then as I was being bounced around from ine place to another and someday I sat there all day doing nothing. They said they would send and email to them, that was on a Friday, and the following Monday inwas let go from the externship, incalled and told them and they said, once you are let go from and externship they don't find another place. So I wasted 2k for a school that didn't follow thru... I WANT MY MONEY BACK

I would not use this program as I was rushed into the medical coding and into signing the contract without even Being told what the program all entailed and now Im outside the 14 day window, I previously attempted calling and emailing the gentleman that signed me up but I got no response I am not very impressed seems they are in a hurry to get contract signed and down payment but once thats done they want nothing to do with you . I cannot afford the program now with one income and 5 kids so I need out of the contract , had someone contacted me back this would not be an issue

First and foremost please consider other schools or institutions, I signed up while in the process of driving out of town with my husband and we weren't focused on the paperwork only what was being sold to us and yes the sales **** is good at there job. The structure of the course ***** within the Modules there are subchapters say 2-1a through 2-5 and you go through these subchapters to the end and get quizzes 2-1a though 2-5 ok how am I suppose to remember what was in 2-1 by the time you get to the quizzes, it should be you go though 2-1a and get the quiz for that subchapter at that time not 5 subchapters later. So I figured maybe if I get the text book for the Medical terminology I will follow it that way. I went to the website and rented it though them and I got a notification it was delivered and it was not, I called them and was bounced around finally I got a lady who check into it to be told I'm sorry that book is unavailable as that's an old edition and we don't have it. How can you sell me a course that's out dated and have no book available for it. So I called to see about canceling my course and was advised I only had 14 days from the start which was never discussed as I even asked my husband if they said that and he said No. I mean really this program doesn't set people up for success.

They were misleading when the program was sold to me. They included a laptop, never received, due to unforeseen events my course was delayed. When I was able to move forward aI was told they had moved to a new platform but was able to complete on the new platform; however they never could get my completed portions of the course to move over and I was unable to access the information. I continued to make numerous calls and was told they would have someone return my calls and never would. I completed the course through a ***** offered by my employer a (Hospital), and after paying 2100 for the Career Steps Program and not receiving anything but 2 books I only requested a vouchers that was included in my purchase to sit for my boards. 499 dollar voucher. I was again passed off and no one wanted to help and was very rude. They have no clue how to handle customers. So I gave them 2100 dollars for nothing and they never tried to get me signed in or help me with their new platform. Not a school you want to invest in. They will reward you for good reviews though. They try and buy them.

I started the phlebotomy program August of 2022, completed the online training by February, 2023 and was certified. Moving on to the externship portion of this process I basically did their job for them and found a location for me to complete my venipunctures. They FAILED to submit the needed paperwork multiple times and made me reschedule my venipunctures 3+ times. It is now February of **** and my externship advisor ***** responded to my emails since before October. I email my advisor at least once a week with just ??? at this point because of the many emails they will not respond to me. I absolutely do not recommend going through the money, time and trouble with this program. Im at the point where I just want my $2,400 back since this program failed to get me into the field Ive chosen and as their website states is guaranteed job placement.

These people their sales team ommited information and when I called because I was not able to start the program they told there was nothing I could do since I had signed a contract. Unfortunately I did not read it because it was via email to my phone so I was not able to read it since I had just gotten to my job. Now I have a financial company demanding payments to the load they gave to that school.

probably the worst written class I've ever taken. so many errors, and like someone said in another review, they have answers to questions that are the incorrect answer. I think I sent the coding support like 10 emails about questions on quick checks that disagreed with the module you just read. On top of that so many spelling errors and grammatical errors. I mean at least the main things in the modules are good information. But the quizzes and quick checks are super hit and miss. you'd think for like **** dollars it would be more polished. very disappointed. we'll see if it pays off once i finish the courses.
