Over the last year and a half a circuit breaker on my electrical panel keeps tripping. The app that is supposed to notify you when a circuit breaker trips and that your service is interrupted doesnt, so I am forced to go outside and check my electrical panel every single day. I have called the company line approximately 10 times since this issue started happening to have them resolve this issue and every time I call, I speak to someone and they either say they will give me a call back or they will contact a repair technician to contact me to setup a date to come look at it. Never have I once received a call back. They also stated that there will be a $250 fee plus the price of any parts they find faulty. If everything is under warranty, why am I held liable to pay for anything? I am tempted to just hire an electrician to come and resolve my issue but since everything is under warranty, G3 solar should be liable to repair everything at no cost to me. Please help me, I am growing tired of calling this company and nothing comes of it. I am tired of wasting my time everyday of checking the electrical panel, and when I leave town for a few weeks for work, the circuit breaker trips and Im losing money on my panels not accumulating energy.

Unfortunately, the original warranty does not transfer between homeowners, as it was tied to the original installation agreement. Since the property has changed ownership, the warranty is no longer active under our terms.
G3 Solar is happy to help coordinate service through our trusted third-party contractors to ensure the system continues to perform efficiently.

BBB took a complaint over the phone. Below is the voice to text voicemail description

Hi there. My name is **** *****. I had a salesman stop here from G3 Solar. I bought the solar from a fellow by the name of ******* ***** who worked for G3 Solar. He sold me the system for $57 ,000. With that said, he said that I would get a tax incentive of $17 *******. And he asked me what I was going to do with the tax incentive, and I told him I would apply it total onto the system, which then we would apply to the $57 *******. With that said, that would drop my final system amount to $40 *******. With that said, as I started to get my tax return ready, they are informing me that I not going to possibly get this total $17 ,210 so that I can apply it in time for the total to go on the system. With that said, if I don't get that amount applied to the system by a certain time period, I end up having to pay another $100 on the payment, which it is now $231 a month. And if I don't get it paid within 16 payments of when I started paying that $231, it will go to $331 a month, and that's for 25 years. So, the problem is the government getting that 30% incentive to install solar on my property. Again, my name is **** *****, ************. I live in ******, ****, ******. My address is *****************. And with that, I thank you and oh, I did forget to give you my Better Business Bureau account number. It's *********. If you need me to give you that again, I would be ever so glad to. Just call me and let me know, but I can give it to you again. It is 231-19684. And I thank you. Goodbye. Thank you very much. Thank you.

G3 Solar does not make any tax guarantees. We encourage all customers to consult with a qualified tax professional regarding any tax-related questions or concerns. Below is a excerpt from the installation agreement that was signed.
    P) Non-reliance.
You, the buyer understand and agree that G3 Solar (Contractor) is solely the installer and not the seller of the system, and that the sales company
or sales representatives are separate and independent entities from Contractor and that any statement, representation, estimate, promise, tax
advice, warranty, or agreement made by any sales company or sales representative is not that of Contractor and that you, the buyer, in entering
into this agreement, understand and agree that Contractor makes no statement, estimate, promise, tax advice, warranty or agreement relating to
the system, the adequacy of the system, performance, tax credits, offset of electricity, or other representation or promise, except as is solely
contained in this written agreement. You, the buyer, agree that you have not relied upon any statement, estimate, promise, tax advice or
agreement of Contractor, except for the provisions contained in this written agreement.

G3 Solar has been making false promises and I think other consumers deserve to know and G3 should be held accountable. We signed a contract for panel installation last Summer (2024). The panels went up in August 2024. We have yet to receive the additional services that we are actually paying for and have been paying for since August. These services include insulation, a google nest, 24 LED lightbulbs and a $1000 signing check. These items are important because they ensure the integrity of the energy savings we were promised. Without the insulation, the services rendered do not meet the energy efficiency standards that were sold to us. We have contacted G3 multiple times and have been told that we “are in the queue” for months. We have not been contacted about scheduling service and have not had our questions answered about when we can be out of the queue.

    1. Refund Check: G3 Solar has issued a refund check in the amount of $1,000, which has been mailed directly to the ********.

    2. Nest Thermostat and LED Bulbs: We have submitted a request to expedite the shipment of the Nest thermostat and LED bulbs to the ********. These items will be mailed shortly.

    3. Attic Insulation Service: G3 Solar has recently switched to a new third-party contractor for attic insulation services. We have already forwarded the ********' request to our new service provider, who should be reaching out within the next week to schedule the attic insulation installation.

The customer promotion check mailed by G3 Solar should have arrived by now. If it has not been received, we encourage the ******** to contact our Client Care team at (801) 754-6400. Our team will assist and arrange for the reissuance of the check.
Additionally, G3 Solar has been in regular communication with our third-party contractor responsible for the attic insulation services. We have been informed that the contractor has already reached out to the ******** to schedule this service.

The company is conducting unethical business practices. I canceled the contract within the 4 business days stipulated, however, I am now being harassed by a representative who is trying to force me to pay a $3,500 fee.

This cancellation occurred outside of the 4-day right of rescission. However, if Ms. ******* can provide any documentation or proof indicating that the cancellation took place within the 4-day right of rescission, we encourage her to submit it to [email protected]. Our team will review the information and reconsider the cancellation fee accordingly.

signed a solar agreement with G3 Solar in October of 2023. They lied to us time and again. Assuring us that there would not be a lien on our house due to the solar financing. We just discovered a lein on our house. Additionally, our electric bills have not gone down, we are now paying the same on electric as well as paying the loan which is proved by the NEP app they use for the solar panels showing zero production. G3 refuses to replace a broken component of the system despite the entire system being under warranty and the broken component being to no fault of our own. Installation caused leaks in our roof. It took them months to find someone to fix the leaks after consistently trying to contact them to have this completed, which lead to water damage they have not fixed. It is impossible to get in contact with anyone so there is no way to hold them accountable. All I want is for them to take this money pit off my roof and for them to pay off the loan.

G3 Solar is actively working with our third-party installer to troubleshoot the system and address any necessary repairs covered under the warranty. We anticipate receiving an update this week and will share it with Mr. ******** as soon as it is available.
Additionally, G3 Solar does not place liens on customer properties. We recommend contacting the loan provider directly to inquire about any possible liens.

We learned that G3 Solar is a door-to-door sales group that takes advantage of people trying to save energy by lying to them and saying it will bring down overall electric prices for the household. My wife and I had them installed in August 2024. G3 was very quick at promising us that our electric bill would be a steady $270.00, promised by the sneaky salesman **** *****. So far the job has not been completed, but we have been paying the finance group since August. Our electric bills have skyrocketed ever since. We pay $450.00 for the loan every month and our last two months our bills have been $425.00 and $511.00. We even had our electric company contact us this past month saying we are using too much energy in hours when we aren't even in the household. We asked G3 to please come and take a look at the panels to make sure they are connected properly but they said they needed a letter from our electric company to have probable cause to come on the property and if they don't find anything it will be a $350.00 "truck fee". The job still has not been completed as well. We are still waiting for a thermostat to be installed and we haven't heard from anyone for months.

    Business Response

    Date: 02/05/2025

The solar system installed at the ******* residence began generating energy in August 2024, and has been consistently producing energy in line with the terms outlined in the proposal and signed installation agreement. To conduct a comprehensive production audit, a full 12 months of data are necessary.
If Mr. ******* believes his payments are higher than what was agreed upon, G3 Solar recommends contacting the lender, ******************, who provided the loan for further clarification. Additionally, we suggest reaching out to **** to review the utility rates and charges applied to the ******* account.

Got the system was told and promised it would complete wipe away my bill and give back to the grid. Was also told and have a signed contract I get a tax attorney to help with filing / I get free led light bulbs / free thermostat / I get free duct seal and insulation put in the attic so on I had to fight and argue over and over to get duct seal and insulation in my attic To this day I've yet to get thermostat/ light bulbs/ and I contacted the company yesterday (1-21-25) asking about the tax attorney and my paperwork for taxes. I was told oh we don't work with the lawyer anymore. So it's in my contract how do you plan on fixing that . Radio silence / my thermostat and lights . I've been told the same thing since March of 24 we are on back order but having issues then they stop replying maybe May June of 24 . So basically 3 breach of contracts if I really want to push the issue . But worse of everything which is my fault for not doing research the sales man was so dishonest with us . We was told we would get a minimum of 30% or the solar fund on our taxes ( not a tax credit but 30% money on the taxes ) he explained that because you have to pay a certain amount by a certain date or your payments balloon up like 200 dollars more a month so essentially I will be paying over 500 a month for this system because I'm being ask to have 25k paid up. The sales rep even did math for us during the sale so there is no misunderstanding. His math wrote down on our paperwork he gave let's say your system is 50k on the taxes you get 30% so you will get 15k in money on your taxes the first year which will cover that lump sum you have to pay.. wrong it's a tax credit spread out over years . Now I will be paying 500 a month for solar plus around 120 dollars a month for my electric bill. Reaching out before about this j was told to cut electric off and be more efficient to help . I'm a licensed electrician so I took enphase u class on solar and they simply gave me a system to small.

After a thorough production audit on the system installed at Mr. ******** home, it was found that the system is performing at 111% efficiency based on the estimated kWh production specified in the installation agreement Mr. ****** signed.
We would also like to confirm that the LED light bulbs and smart thermostat, which were outlined in the installation agreement, are queued for shipment to Mr. ******. The G3 Solar team will review this request and prioritize the fulfillment of these items.
Additionally, G3 Solar has recently ended its partnership with the tax advisor previously used. We recommend that Mr. ****** seek the services of a trusted tax advisor moving forward. G3 Solar will reimburse Mr. ****** $450. This reimbursement is currently being processed and will be mailed directly to the homeowner.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: to say my system is running at 111% is a little far-fetched as you see a look at the lifetime performance of my system again you guys use in phase which I am certified and how to sell the systems how to design the systems how to install the systems how to use the programming to get it updated and working and how to understand it pair that with my electrician skills from what I've gathered off of my lifetime electric bills from last year I am a total of four panel short which is okay My issue was more of the shady business with your salespeople and how you did not want to fulfill the contract until I made a complaint

    Sincerely,

Contract Signed: 4/10/2024 Amount Paid: $42,251.22, financed through a Smart Energy Loan with Enfin. What G3Solar Promised: * Timely installation of solar panels shortly after signing the contract. Panels were not installed until Sept 2024, over five months later. * A $1,000 check to help with the transition from city electricity to solar, which we have not received. * Reimbursement for solar loan payments until the system is operational. Payments of $220 for November 2024 and December 2024 have not been reimbursed, and an upcoming $220 payment for January 2025 remains unpaid. * Installation of attic insulation, thermostat, LED lights. Insulation was not completed until Nov 2024, the thermostat and LED lights remain unresolved. * A fully operational solar system, which remains inactive to date, despite assurances it would be functional soon after installation. Nature of Dispute: * Delays and Broken Promises: The company failed to meet agreed timelines for installation and activation. * Financial Burden: We are paying for both city electricity and the financed solar loan. Promised reimbursements for loan payments have not been fulfilled. * Unresolved Issues: The thermostat and LED lights remain incomplete, adding to the frustration. * Mismanagement: Despite being assigned a project manager, Julia Beltran, on May 16, 2024, no meaningful progress has been made. Communication has been vague and inconsistent, with no clear resolution. * Misleading Sales Promises: The service provided does not reflect the seamless process and excellent care advertised by the company. Efforts to Resolve: Despite repeated follow-ups, there has been little tangible progress or resolution. Desired Resolution: * Expedite activation of the solar system. * Reimburse the promised loan payments totaling $660 to date. * Deliver the $1,000 transition check. * Complete the thermostat and LED light installation. * Provide clear communication and timelines for resolving the remaining issues.

I gave G3 Solar 1500.00 dollars as a down payment toward the install of solar panels. I was unable to secure funding. I was told I'd get a refund if I was unable to do so. I have yet to receive my refund after numerous calls and continued promising of my refund.

My wife and I purchased solar panels from G3 in Nov of 2023. The salesman ******* seemed very knowledgeable. Our electric bill was an average of $300 per month. He assured us that the payment on this system would basically be a wash on our electric bill. I found it interesting that our payment was exactly what our average electric bill was, which he figured after seeing our electric bills. In 2024 our average electric bill was $186. Which is lower but that is on top of the $300 bill we now have for the solar. G3 was contacted and for months they acted like they were going to fix the issue and give us more panels. They even sent me plans for the new panels to approve. Then I received an email from ***** the director of customer experience. He basically told me that the contract i signed trumped whatever oral contracts that were made with the salesman and they were not going to do anything about my situation. This company lies to make sales and takes advantage of people. They should be brought up on criminal charges in my opinion. But I am quite sure all the legal documents I signed are legally binding so even if I could afford a lawyer, it would be pointless. This system is going to make our house impossible to sell in a couple years because it does not do what he said it would do. I fear we will have to take a $75000 hit when we sell our house which will be basically all of our equity. It is the only money we have. Our life savings. It is hard to comprehend how heartless these people are.

    Business Response

    Date: 01/09/2025

The terms outlined in the G3 Solar contract specify that only written agreements, as outlined within the contract itself, are legally binding. As stated in the contract, this is the complete agreement of both Parties. No oral agreements have been made that have not been included in this written agreement. All changes to this agreement shall be made in writing and signed by both Parties. Additionally, its important to note that while we provide an estimate for a system's first-year production, there are no production guarantees.
The contract also clarifies that G3 Solar is solely the installer of the solar system and is not responsible for any sales-related promises or representations made by independent sales companies or representatives. It is acknowledged in the contract that G3 made no guarantees regarding the system's performance, tax credits, electricity offset, or any other statements not directly contained within the written agreement.
G3 Solar encourages customers to explore various options when selling their home after the installation of a solar system. It may often be in the customers best interest to incorporate the cost of the solar system into the total home price and pay off the loan after the home is sold. This approach leaves the new homeowner with no solar loan while still benefiting from the advantages of solar energy.

I am rejecting this response because:
All you are doing is allowing YOUR salesmen to straight up lie to YOUR customers. It is dishonest and straight up wrong. And you know it. You hide behind your legal stuff and avoid doing the right thing. All I want is for the solar panels to do what your salesman told me they would do. I used to have an average electric bill of $300 a month. Now it is almost $500 a month when you include the solar payment. He told me it would be a wash!
