5 starsThe process was smooth and easy from start to finish. From having the program explained and the procedures to complete the project being explained to the final installation of the panels and equipment we're very satisfied. Looking forward to the system being turned on and seeing the benefits of going solar. Everyone we had contact with was very professional and helpful, especially our sales representative **** ****, he's been in contact with us throughout this process.Review fromMelissa G

1 starHigh pricing and aggressive. I signed a contract for solar installation. First off, there is a program where the electric company buys solar back from you and Ambia never mentions this. They dont mention it because they actually keep that $ (its only a few hundred $ a year but it does exist and they hide it from consumers). I had the install set but 8 days prior I called to cancel. First I called the lender, who canceled the loan. Then I called Ambia. My salesperson immediately called and asked why. I explained it was a private matter but had to cancel. Never heard anything until 7 days later the delivery company tried to drop off the panels. I told them not to. Then Ambia texted me saying they had no record of me canceling (a lie because the salesperson called after I called the company- on a recorded line- to cancel). They wanted $4100+ cancelation fee. Now- I DID have the ductwork performed and said I would pay for that but that is between $2-3000 not $4100. I emailed their customer service outlining my displeasure and legalities including the failure to disclose the aggregate solar sellback. Received email back confirming they HAD received the original cancelation (so unwittingly admitting to a lie). Today the installers showed up. So either they have horrific internal communication or they did not tell the installers on purpose- hoping Id just relent and let it continue (although they have nothing to install because I also turned away the delivery man they also didnt tell to cancel). They continue to text me wanting to authorize that $4100 payment so they can complete the cancelation. Seems very scammy and persistent to the point of stalkerish. Plus the dishonestly claiming I never canceled. My advise to others is- if you want solar- do not use Ambia.Review fromjanice i

Thank you for sharing your feedback. Wed like to clarify that your agreement was signed on June 11, 2025, and we did not receive written notice of cancellation until June 24, 2025, which is outside the standard cancellation period. If you have documentation showing that your intent to cancel was submitted within the allotted period, please provide it, and we will review and address the matter promptly.Review fromKevin W

5 starsI had a good overall experience with Ambia Solar and would definitely recommend them to other homeowners in ********. The sales **** who first came by were straightforward, respectful, and really took the time to break down how everything worked. They werent pushy, and they knew their stuff, which made me feel comfortable moving *********** thing I appreciated was how involved the ******************** was throughout the process. The timeline did end up being a little longer than I originally expected, mostly due to permitting delays, but to their credit, Ambia communicated everything clearly and kept me in the loop the whole way. I never felt like I was left in the dark, which is rare in home improvement projects these days. Once install day came around, the crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and left everything clean and tidy. The system looks great and works just as *********** company is perfect, but Ambia handled everything professionally and delivered on what they said they would. Glad I made the switch to solar with them.Ambia

1 starIf I could give this company zero stars, I would. My experience with Ambia Solar/Energy has been extremely disappointing, marked by poor communication, unprofessional behavior, and what I believe to be dishonest business practices. Our installation was scheduled for May 30, 2025. On the day of the appointment, the installer arrived, inspected our roof, and immediately stated that they would not proceed with the solar panel installation because the roof needed to be replaced. This was frustrating and unexpected, especially since no prior concerns had been raised during the sales process. We decided to cancel the project at that point. However, a representative from Ambia, ****, later contacted us and offered to include the cost of a new roof in our loan. We declined and reiterated our desire to cancel. **** then informed us that we would be charged a $650 cancellation fee. I strongly objected, as I believe this situation could have been avoided had the original salesperson, *****, properly inspected the roof during his initial assessment. After much back and forth, the company agreed to waive the cancellation fee.Shortly afterward, I received a $2,000 bill. When I questioned it, **** claimed it was for a separate servicethe sealing of our ducts. This was never clearly communicated to us as a standalone charge. During the sales process, ***** told us that duct sealing was a required part of the installation and did not mention that it was a separate service or that we would be liable for the full cost if the project was canceled. This feels misleading at ******* summary, I feel deceived and taken advantage of. I would not recommend Ambia to anyone. This experience has been frustrating, stressful, and costly.Ambia

Hi *******, thank you for sharing your honest feedback. I understand how frustrating it can be when plans change unexpectedly, but the decision to stop your installation on the scheduled day was made to protect your home and the investments youve made in ***** help avoid situations like this, we take several steps to assess roof suitability prior to installation. Our sales representatives submit photos of the roof, attic, and electrical system, which are then reviewed by our in-house design and engineering team and also by a third-party engineering firm. On installation day, our installers conduct a final safety inspection to ensure no new or previously unseen issues are present. In your case, they identified significant granule loss that was not visible in the original photos.Regarding the ***************** that work had already been completed before your cancellation. As such, the $2,000 charge is not a cancellation penalty but payment for services rendered at your home. The agreement you signed also outlines in Section 8 (page 18) that if concealed or unforeseen conditions arise, the company may bill for completed work up to the point of cancellation. If you have any more questions or concerns, please reach out to us at ************************************ and our Customer Support team will be happy to assist you.Review fromDenis S

1 starWe were approached by 2 salesmen representing Ambia Solar in April 2024. At that I was interested in seeing more about the program. I asked for literature and they said they didnt have any but would have it sent out asap. they quoted me a price of $41,470 = 224.93/month and with a 30% tax credit it dropped the total to $29,000 = 156.88/month. It took over 6 months to get set up and never received anything in writing. Never received information for the tax rebate either.
. They check our credit to see if we would be approved. After credit approval, I decide to proceed. we were contacted next by Everbright who was going to handle the payment. The monthly charge was to be $156.88/month but ended up being $165.69/ month then owing another $12,000.00 after 18 months. We found out that they had put it in my wife's name. That was never acceptable and told them that it had to be in my name. After contacting Chad Thurgood at Ambia and telling him this needed to be changed to my name, he said he would try and get back with me. I never could get in contact by phone with him again. he would never return a call.
Ambia and Everbright had never sent any paperwork for me to review. Everything was to be done by emails. Trying to read a 43 page contract on-line is a joke. It is there way to scam us older generation. There is plenty more that could be listed but I think this is enough to let the next person to keep from getting scammed by these companiesAmbia

Hi *****, thank you for sharing your feedback. We regret to hear about your frustrations and would like to clarify a few details. When you originally signed your agreement, ********** also provided access to their online portal, where all documents could be reviewed, and you completed their Welcome Checklist confirming receipt of the agreement and your understanding of key terms, including the right to cancel and the optional buydown payment. As part of that process, you also completed EverBrights Welcome Checklist on April 29, 2024, which confirmed receipt of the agreement and understanding of key terms.Installation of your system did not occur until September 2024, which provided several months to review the agreement and raise any concerns or exercise your right to cancel. Its also important to note that Ambia Energys role is limited to the installation of your system. Once installation is complete, all financing, billing, and account administration are managed directly by ********** under the terms of the agreement. We appreciate you sharing your perspective and will use your feedback to continue improving how we communicate project details with customers.Review fromAdriano C

1 starSo I know the way these sales companies canvas an area they get dropped off and try to talk to as many homeowners as possible but for their sales person to ask to drink water out of my garden hose was extremely weird. I gave the person a drink out of my fridge but for goodness sake give these people some water before sending them to talk to 50 peopleAmbia

Hi ******** Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our sales representatives operate independently and are responsible for managing their own hydration and nutrition to stay safe and comfortable throughout the day. That said, we take their well-being seriouslythey're trained and regularly reminded to carry water, wear sunscreen, and dress appropriately for working outdoors in the heat. We appreciate your concern and the opportunity to address it.Review fromApril G

1 starDo not use Ambia. This is the most expensive mistake I have ever made. It has taken 6 months to get to this point. Despite our panels being turned on, Ambia is still not done with their job. The only thing that has gone right was the application and first install. Everything since then has been painful, difficult and time consuming. To start, after installation, it took a month for the inspection to happen. Ambia blamed the city. I dont believe that as I have never had those issues before. The first inspection failed. It took weeks to reschedule maintenance. The repeat inspection was schedule more quickly when I called in frequently. There were still issues with the work, but the inspector allowed the Ambia tech to correct them on the spot. The building inspection surprisingly passed the first time. The meter witness test took another 4-6 weeks to schedule. It failed the first time. The rescheduled test still had issues, but thankfully the Xcel person was willing to let Ambia correct them on the spot. I do not fault the technicians. All the technicians were friendly and punctual. The problem is with Ambia leadership. This company is so compartmentalized very few people actually know what is going on. We received more wrong information than anything. In most cases, I do not believe this was ************** every step of this process, we had to call Ambia to get anything done. Instead of using case managers, they have departments that do not communicate or work together. No one is aware of what the other is doing which leads to chaos and misinformation. On multiple occasions we were told we did not need to be present for that step. Every time we were told that, we needed to be there. Ambias lack of concern for their business practices is concerning at best and fraudulent at worst. They take payment upfront and nothing matters after that. We got shoddy work, failed inspections and months of having to track down employees to do their jobs.Ambia

We greatly appreciate this clear and honest feedback and are happy to hear that your installation went smoothly. We recognize that the quality of communication weve delivered after your installation was not up to the level of world-class customer service that we aim to provide. We made some necessary changes throughout the organization to address these quality issues going forward. We are happy to see that your system has been granted Permission to Operate by your utility company. Due to the delays in getting your system operational, we are happy to reimburse you for any solar payments that you have incurred before your system was activated. Please send confirmation of those payments to ************************************ and well get that process started for you.Review fromShariff A
