Refund and Exchange Policy

Refunds are subject to the following limitations:
Deposits: A deposit may only be refunded if: (1) DUS does not accept an applicant to be a Participant, or (2) if a Participant cancels within three days of DUS's receipt of the deposit. Otherwise, all deposits paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Trip Protection: Any payment toward a travel insurance plan is non-refundable after a fifteen day review period. The next payment(s) on a Participant’s account after the initial deposit is paid/met will automatically be applied toward any insurance plan premium until the premium is paid in full.
Additional Tours: Payment for additional available tours, such as the Great Barrier Reef Escape, are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Non-Deposit Refund Schedule:
Applicable to all cancellations, regardless of reason for cancellation
For cancellation requests received by Down Under Sports between 71-95 days prior to the scheduled departure, an amount of $1,000 (plus all prior non-refundable amounts) shall be non-refundable and non-transferable. (deposit + insurance premium + $1,000 kept)
For cancellation requests received by Down Under Sports between 70-46 days prior to the scheduled departure, an additional amount of $1,000 (plus all prior non-refundable amounts) shall be non-refundable and non-transferable. (deposit + insurance premium + $1,000 + $1,000 kept)
All monies paid (including deposit and insurance premium if applicable) are non-refundable and non-transferable if a cancellation request is received by Down Under Sports within 45 days of the scheduled departure date. (All payments kept)
Removal of a Participant:
If DUS removes a Participant without cause prior to departure, the sole liability of DUS is to refund any monies paid by the Participant.
If DUS removes a Participant with cause (which includes but is not limited to: non-payment of scheduled installments, failure to follow or violation of the DUS Program Rules, violation of laws, and/or failure to follow directions of DUS staff or advisors), administrative charges may be assessed. If removal with cause occurs, the Non-Deposit Refund Schedule defined above applies in addition to any and all assessed administrative charges.
If DUS removes a Participant or cancels a Participant's participation after departure, no refund will be made, and the Participant will be liable for all additional travel expenses incurred.
Deferrals and Transfers:
Monies from a payment originally made toward a program year may be allowed to be applied instead to a future program year ("deferred") at the sole discretion of DUS.
Monies from a payment originally made toward a Participant may be allowed to be applied instead to a different Participant ("transferred") at the sole discretion of DUS.
All transferred and/or deferred monies that are non-refundable at time of deferral and/or transfer remain non-refundable.
All transferred and/or deferred monies that are refundable at the time of deferral and/or transfer become newly subject to the Refund Schedule governing the Participant and/or program year they are applied toward.
