I purchased Blendtec Total Blender 2.6L 1500-Watts Countertop Blender - Black through Best Buy Canada on Nov, 2018. I was using this machine for many years. Last month I noticed something unusual about its motor, which was overheated for serveral times after using. I thought it might be due to food residue accumulating at the bottom of the blades. So I try to open the jar to clean it, but then I found that there is no way I can open this jar. its nut has no place to screw at all. This makes it impossible for me to fix this machine. What's more, I found out that the newer models from this company have an opening mechanism on the bottom of the jar that allows the user to easily open the jar for cleaning or repair. I think Blendtec company should have notified us of the replacement. This is a flaw in their design. I contacted them but they refused to replace it for me. This machine is worth 300 cad. Its after sales service should worth that. Especially with their design flaw, they should have recalled but not.

Hello John! I can't find an account with the information you provided. I will call you today to discuss your interaction with Blendtec and understand more about the situation.

All our jars are made where you cannot remove the blade. Even the ones we currently make. Our recommended cleaning is to put some water in the jar with a couple of drops of dish soap and run it on the machine. Below, you will find long-term sanitation instructions.

Fill the jar with hot water.
Add 1–2 teaspoons (5–10ml) of liquid chlorine bleach to the jar.
Stir for 10 seconds. Let mixture stand in jar for 5 minutes.
Empty water/bleach mixture. Turn jar upside down on dish rack until dry.

Dear BBB,I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience with my product Blendtec WildSide+ jar.I purchased a Blendtec blender with the WildSide+ jar, expecting it to deliver high-quality performance as advertised. However, I have encountered a significant issue with the jar leaking motor oil into my food. This issue not only compromises the safety and quality of the food I prepare for the family but also raises serious concerns about the reliability and durability of your product. They informed me that because the product is out of warranty, they will not be replacing the jar. I informed them that I had done research and found numerous complaints indicating that some older models have a design flaw with the jar having one bearing instead of two, which is meant to ensure smoother operation with the blender.I have contacted your customer service department regarding this matter and was shocked and disappointed by the response. Despite my clear explanation of the problem and providing all necessary information, I was informed that Blendtec customer service ticket number # ********* would not send a replacement for the faulty jar. This response is unacceptable considering the cost of your product and the expectation of reliable performance.I urge you to reconsider your decision and take immediate action to rectify this situation, as no one should have motor oil or grease from the motor leaking into their food from a jar and have numerous complaint in reference to this design flaw.I'm looking for a replacement on the jar and with the new improvement made to the jar with the current design issues. Sincerely,***************** ******************* **********

I understand there are some frustrations regarding the Blendtec blender purchased. I can see how frustrating it would be to experience an issue and find information online stating that this is a design flaw. I first want to address this.

The blender jar has lasted 9 years, which is pretty good for a kitchen appliance. Although the blender jar can wear out over time, it has no design flaw. Our engineering team is constantly looking for ways to improve our jars, which is how the double-bearing jar came about.

Also, the liquid experienced is not motor oil. The motor is made from dry materials. The liquid is coming from the jar. I know this can be concerning, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Our jars are certified by the ****************************** under the NSF/ANSI Standard 8 for Commercial Powered Food Preparation Equipment. This certification confirms that our products meet strict criteria for construction and materials, for food contact safety.

We have an excellent warranty that we stand behind. I show that the blender was backed by an 8-year warranty, and no warranty claim was made during that time. I will work with this customer to make sure they are taken care of.

Blendtec claims to have issued me a refund for $402.75. This refund has not landed in my bank account. I have followed up with both ******* and my credit union several times over several weeks. The last two cycles of follow up with Blentec resulted in emails and phone calls with customer service staff telling me there is nothing they can do because their accounting department has completed my refund transaction, and the snag has been caused by my credit union. My credit union, ******************************** says they do not hold up refunds for any reason ever, and they can trace my Feb. purchase of $402.75, but there is no trace of a refund. Here I sit with no blender and out a lot of money.

I have been in communication with *******. On our end it shows the refund has gone through. We do not have her funds. We have checked with Shopify, and they have stated the refund was successful.

I had ******* have her ************ email me confirming the refund was not received. We are writing her a check to provide her a full refund.

Bledntec has had to replace my blender twice -whichI am thankful for. I received the replacement around October 2023 when they replaced it, they refused to replace the jar. just replaced the motor base..realized 3 months later with he refurbished unit I have that it is producing black particels all over the outside base of the blender. I am being otld over the phone and by email that this is now "normal" and they cahnged their jar base so that it will now do this to all of their blenders does not make sense. My brother has blendtec where this issue is NOT occurring. They refuse to replace the jar or troubleshoot the issue was told by amanger On Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 09:37:32 p.m. EST, Customer Support wrote: Hi *****, The fine dust is common. It is possible that your brothers jar was manufactured at a time we used different materials. I am positive there is no issue with your Blendtec jar. You are under warranty and if there is an issue, we will take care of it. I am positive your blender jar is fine. I have consulted with our engineering team multiple times regarding this. Blendtec has refused to respond to my email in regards to the motor smoking and smelling bad. They say it just needs to be cleaned, but that is not the case. The motor must be burnt out. It is dangerous and I am surprised (I am under warranty) they advised me to clean it with a "q" tip. I am guessing they do not want to fulfill their warranty. Have spoke with Marilin from customer service and have not heard back.

The blendtec motor is under an 8 year warranty so my blendtec is under warranty as it is less than 3 years old. My smoothies are coming out warm. I have sent it for repair. The returned motor is still making warm smoothies. I sent it back a second time. The returned motor is still making smoothies that come out warm. I would like to have a new motor sent to me because it is getting very time consuming to call them (be on hold) test for them, pack the motor, go to UPS to return it, just to have them send me a refurbished or "fixed" motor that has not been tested adequately as it is still making WARM smoothies. Otherwise I would like a refund. I would really appreciate any help I can get.
