********. About 3 years ago I got a **** membership. I was paying for the guest pass and childcare but wasnt using it so I wanted to downgrade my membership. Instead of downgrading my membership **** created a second account with my same login and was charging me for both as well as two yearly fees. When I notified Vasa they never apologized, just said they would mail me a check for the extra money they stole from me. I was so irritated that I just Ended up canceling everything about a year and a half ago. Now present day, I just looked at my credit card and say they charged me $500 for this month! (4 separate charges) . I canceled my membership a year and a half ago!!!! Why are they charging me???? I HATE vasa.VASA Fitness

I had tried to cancel my membership and they never confirmed it was canceled. They ended up sending it to a debt collector who yelled at me on the phone while trying to resolve this complaint. I will admit I was angry on the phone call however I started getting yelled at then hung up on. I do not recommend the services they provide due to the terrible treatment I experienced.VASA Fitness

I tried out the "free personal coach session", and fainted at the end of the workout. While delirious, they got me to sign up for additional coaching sessions for the next 6 months. Since then, I've had sciatica pain and I haven't been able to go back, therefore I tried to cancel both the gym membership and coaching sessions. Because of the contract, I am forced to continue to pay for the coaching sessions, unless I am able to find someone else to "sell/transfer" the sessions to while paying an additional $100 fee. I have no idea how I can even do that while I'm sitting at home in pain, using my sick leave from work trying to recover. I've tried to show them evidence of my urgent care visit and my scheduled doctor visits and they have refused to accept that as evidence and continue to charge me for the sessions biweekly. I am very sad. I do not recommend the personal training coaches nor this gym, despite the cleanliness and availability of the gym's machines and free weight section even during peak hours of the day.VASA Fitness

Hi ******,I have reviewed this with the employees at the club. They stated that you communicated you were suffering from sciatica nerve pain prior and that you had not eaten for 2 days prior up to your consultation. They stated they provided you with a glucose packet to help bring your blood sugar back up after you got lightheaded. They confirmed that you willingly signed up for the Personal Training subscription. We do not have any medical clause for cancellation of Personal Training. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but the subscription is valid and you would be responsible for the remaining payments.Review fromSarai E

Originally cancelled within the last month online. Continuously being harassed for the annual fee of 59.99 and now a 25.99 fee for having not been able to accept the membership fee of vasa. I canceled and rarely ever went to this unsanitary and unsatisfactory gym. I shouldn’t be paying or harassed to comply and pay those fees.VASA Fitness

Hello,I apologize for any frustration this has caused. The membership agreement does state that the membership needs to be up to date, and that we require a 30 day cancellation notice to cancel your membership. Your past due balance will be owed to cancel. As a courtesy, I have waived the $25 return fee, but the remaining balance of $59.98 is owed.Review fromJorge B

Terrible; I booked KidCare and due unforeseen circumstances I was late; but I was more than 30 minutes late due to the family picking up their kids was taking a long time in getting their kids. Which resulted in my appointment being cancelled. WASTING my time; and my spot was claimed not 5 mins after the 30 mins mark; I am extremely angry about this situationVASA Fitness

Hello,I apologize that this was your experience! I have gone ahead and refunded the KidCare no show fees back to your billing on file.Review fromJeff M

This gym is running a scam with their business practices. They offered a free month with I never received. Billing is set up in such a way that you can not cancel or adjust your membership except once every 32 days which insures that you are going to be charged an additional month of billing no matter when you cancel. They are horrible in terms of billing customer service. Long hold times, super aggressive customer service reps and they are unwilling to listen. I have heard many anecdotal stories of people having their card declined and then they are charged a "return" fee of $25.00. The billing rep I dealt with was Ashley and she was unprofessional and extremely rude. My advice - Stay away!VASA Fitness

Hi ****,I apologize that this was your experience. Our membership agreement does state that there is a 30 day notice to cancel, meaning you would owe one more monthly payment to cancel. I do see that you were not charged for a month after you signed up. As for the Return Fee, this fee is also outlined in our membership agreement. Any time a payment declines, this fee is automatically added.Review fromMadeline V

Originally when I signed up for this membership, I was told I would not have to pay for the annual fee. I check my account and I have received the $68 charge and a $30 insufficient funds fee. This is unacceptable. No where on my billing statement on the app was I told that I would be getting an annual fee taken out of my account. There is no trace of this on my app and I only found out when I checked my back account. Not only did I not get any notice that this money would be coming out but charging the $30 is extremely frustrating. If I had been informed of this charge I would not have had a problem with it being taken out but the extra $30 is just upsetting. I am noticing others have gotten a $25 charge so Im confused why I got $30 instead.VASA Fitness

Hello ********!I apologize for any misunderstanding regarding our Rate Guarantee Fee. This fee is owed on all of our memberships ****************************************************************************************** your app for upcoming charges. As for the $30 fee you are referring to, I am not seeing this charge on our end. It is possible that the charge came from your banking institution directly.Review fromCam P

This business use extremely unethical business practices to try to extract more money from their Customers. I signed up for a membership and went to the gym for a while. I canceled my membership and stop receiving bills for my membership so I assumed it was correctly canceled. I didnt receive any communication from **** until my account was sent to collections and I found out that my subscription was not correctly canceled but had instead been incurring $25 late fees on a $10 monthly charge. I went back-and-forth with the law firm many times explaining the situation, But in the end, I decided that my emotional health and my time was worth more than the $150 They were charging me so I decided to pay it. The effectively used a collections law firm to bully me into paying What I didnt owe. I will never be a **** customer again.VASA Fitness

Hi Cam, We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I reviewed your membership and when you created the membership the billing was not imputed correctly so we were not able to collect your month to month payments. If you have an outstanding balance our policy states we are unable to make any changes or cancel. We had tried to call and email you regarding the unpaid balances and never received a response. Because you did pay ****** we are unable to adjust the balance. I'm sorry and we appreciate the feedback. Please let us know if you have further questions. Thanks.Review fromRyan R

Echoing what many other people have said. The gym was well maintained, but I joined for what I thought was a temporary time while preparing for a race. The initial fee of $17.98 seemed reasonable, and then I canceled after my first month to find out that there was a $25 cancellation fee for cancelling within the first 6 months, and a $49.99 "rate guarantee" fee, which seems weird to charge when I don't have a future rate to guarantee. Read lots of reviews and other experiences, lots of responses from VASA saying "its in the contract" and "apologies this was not explained". And maybe there is more responsibility on my part to read contracts more thoroughly. But at the end of the day, just because something is in the contract and legal doesn't make the business practice ethical or admirable. I initially had a positive experience, but after dealing with the hassle of cancellation I would not return to this business.VASA Fitness

I was set up on an automatic payment plan for two years. Apparently something went wrong with my auto payment last May. I did NOT receive any messages from **** about the issue; but instead my account was sent to collections and cost $272 to set it right. I had a sweet membership and was only paying $16/month through my work. But now can I TRUST VASA, no way. That just killed any enthusiasm I might have ever had to keep a membership with them.Oh, and when I called their Customer Support line? A woman answered on a speaker phone that sounded like she was working from home. She flat out said she couldn't help me and there was NOTHING I could do. Thanks ****.VASA Fitness
