I worked with sales person Cody B***** and got my roof inspected 10/25 before putting the solar panels on 10/28. Since then Ive been waiting for the follow up inspection/permitting that was supposed to be within 2 weeks. Noticed leaking on 11/14 with a heavy storm and they sent someone out to assess the damage and sent photos. They sent me a message on 12/9 that this is a separate issue to be looked at an not caused by them because the panels are on the front part of the house and the hole is on the back part. However they accessed my roof through the back part of the house to do the install already determining the roof was good to do the install again doing an inspection through accessing the back part of the house. Seems that this is part of their business model from the other reviews left on here.

Solar:  our Envoy device won’t connect to WiFi since Ion removed the 3G connection and, therefore, won’t register solar output. Ion is requiring we pay $250 before they will send out a tech - even though this is an issue caused by Ion. Ion contact number: ###-###-####

Thank you for sending this complaint over to us. ION Solar is committed to addressing our customer's complaints.  We value customer's feedback as an opportunity for our company to improve, furthermore ION Solar will review this complaint and will work towards a resolution with the customer. ION Solar did not remove any part of the customer's system to prevent any form of operation. ION Solar reached out to the customer in 2022 to inform them that their 3G will not be in service anymore. The customer contacted ION for assistance in March of 2024 to reconnect their system. They were informed again that their 3G is no longer supported and were offered the WiFi reconnection instructions to avoid the cost of a Service Visit. ION has attempted to contact the customer about their filed complaint and will work with them to provide a resolution to this complaint.

This company has come to my door dozens of times in the past 1.5 years I have lived here trying to sell me solar panels. When I say no they ask me why and won't take no for an answer. I've asked them to take my house off their knocking list, but they still come back a couple of months later the exact same thing happens. I want them to stop coming to my house.

I had solar panels installed by ION SOLAR-Texas and live on a golf course. ION never mentioned anything about the potential problem that might arise from having solar panels installed and living on a golf course. I know that they were aware of this potential problem! It is apparent that they just wanted to make a sale. Currently, every one of my solar panels has multiple cracks in them. I called ION to inquire about this issue and have been told by several different supervisors that there is nothing that can be done. So, basically I am left with the ONLY solution, which is paying my $1000 deductible to get them fixed, and then they will just get cracked again. I still owe $25,000. I am at the point that I just want them taken off because this has been the worst investment, and I just want out. However, I am now told that I will have to pay for them to get taken off and will still owe the $25,000. This feels like a scam, and I am so disappointed that they have NOT offered any feasible solution to this ongoing problem except for me to pay more money to have them fixed or taken off. This potential issue needs to be disclosed!!!! This is just bad business and a BAD company that does not care for their customers. The solicitors from ION continue to knock on my door, and I take them to the back to show them the issue and suggest that they don't waste their time going through this neighborhood. The sales people will often make remarks such as "That sucks!" Yes, it sucks! I want a viable solution.

Ion Solar put panels on my roof. They had a city inspection passed 10/8. There has been no contact from Ion... the solar panels are installed, inspected but not operating. It is now 10/25. I called their customer support #, ************, a few times, was told someone would call me back but never received any calls. First call on 10/18 I was told the hold up was the leasing company, **********. They had the wrong rate schedule? I called them today and was first told the problem was the city...I told them I was told by the service tech who went with the city inspector to the home that the city passed the panels. I asked to speak with the manager, *****. I was told no. Then ****** told me ***** said for me to call this # ************. This is the phone # for the utility company. Seems that is now the hold up to getting the panels up and running. I don't think I should be the person to call the utility company. What would I tell them? What if they say they need something only Ion Solar has? I did not submit any forms or have any contact before with anyone except Ion Solar but now all of a sudden it's my issue to resolve??? I need assistance from someone, somewhere! The panels are there but are of zero benefit to anyone at this point.

Thank you for sending this complaint over to **. ION Solar is committed to addressing our customer's complaints.  We value customer's feedback as an opportunity for our company to improve, furthermore ION Solar will review this complaint and will work towards a resolution with the customer. ********************** has made contact with the customer about the complaint and has had an opportunity to collect their feedback. The financial lender did require additional information because there was a discrepancy with some of the system's information. That has since been corrected and we have now obtained Permission to Operate from the Utility Company as of 10/31/2024. We have informed the customer that we would provide additional communication to ensure that the project gets completed. ION Solar provides estimated timelines and we estimate that the project would receive Permission to Operate ***** days from the installation. Additionally: In the signed Customer Installation Agreement(***) on page 1 and page 3

      INSTALLATION

Phase 2: Phase 2 of the installation process is where the physical installation of the Solar System is begun and completed. As a general rule (but not as a guarantee), We anticipate that Phase 2 will take 45 to 60 days. Obviously, such things as unanticipated physical restraints, pandemics, needed remedial repairs (see the section entitled Site Inspection/Owner Remedial Repairs), and other unanticipated contingencies could affect this desired timeline.

      ESTIMATED TIMELINE/DELAYS

Homeowner acknowledges that Contractor shall employ reasonable efforts to meet the expected time frames of the overall installation process but also acknowledges that such time frames are provided as estimates only and not as a contractual commitment. Homeowner acknowledges and accepts that some delays are beyond Contractors control such as delays caused by acts of God, pandemics, civil unrest, labor disputes, adverse weather conditions, acts of a government or other public authority, acts of the Homeowner or Homeowners agents, and delay in the delivery of materials by suppliers. Homeowner acknowledges and agrees that under no circumstances shall Contractor be liable for any damages whatsoever caused or arising from any delays in the installation process unless such delays are caused by Contractors own gross negligence. Additionally, Homeowner acknowledges that such delays do not constitute abandonment and are not included in the timeframes for payment or performance.

The information we were presented with during the sales process was inaccurate and misleading. The sales team used a previous year print out of our energy bill and projections which we later came to realize was NOT correct. We were two months living the home and still settling. After two months passed after our sales meeting (and tied into the contract), our energy use was a portion of what was shown. As first-time homeowners and new parents, we were vulnerable to such misleading practices and now being asked to pay $1500 to get out of the contract.

I have had issues with Ion nonstop for months now. I had extensive hail damage to my roof and needed the panels removed and then later reinstalled. Here is a list of all the problems I have had since the process started. -ion lost my payment check. Even after customer service at first told me they had the check it was being processed. -I filed a complaint months ago that was never followed up with. - scheduling the removal was a complete disaster. I was scheduled only to be told later it was on hold due to permits that ion never pulled. - for the panel reinstallation, ion never followed up with me after the payment processed to schedule the reinstall. I had to call them. - I was finally scheduled for a reinstall only to receive a text later saying my appointment was cancelled and I had to be rescheduled. - asked for the reinstall case to be escalated to an operations manager but they never followed up. I believe ion is discriminating against us and engaging in retaliatory behavior towards us. This level of incompetence at every step is unbelievable and I believe it is being done on purpose.

I am reaching out with some frustrations in the lack of communication and inconsistent communication from Ion with our Solar Panel reinstall. We initially had a panel installed for the rough inspection in July. Then we were told the inspection would happen and we had to be at the house last week 8/21/2024 for someone to install the rest. We were told the schedule window was 1pm-4pm. No one showed up. Then in reaching back out, we were informed "oh that was for the rough in inspection. and the request to get the panel reinstalled was sent to the scheduling team. We have another message that says we have another inspection with the city and it's for friday 8/30. That is now 3 different times we are supposed to have had inspections, and have yet to had them pushing out the final install of our panels, thus costing us more money with our utilities. We had the inspection on the 30th and we were told someone from ION scheduling would reach out to get the final install of the panels and netting up. I NEVER heard from anyone. It took me calling ION support to have someone send it a ticket to scheduling to get the ball moving again and that was done on 9/19/2024. After me initiating and almost nagging a company that prides itself on customer service we finally got someone to reach out and schedule us a crew to finish the install. However it won't be done until 10/28/2024. That is 4 months to install panels back on! I sent an email venting my frustration to the company on 8/28.2024 and never hear anything back. It is getting quite frustrating that no one from Ion is keeping a schedule, or at least informing us if there was a mistake, or if someone from the city had to cancel an inspection etc. It seems like someone has dropped the ball and we are literally paying hundreds of dollars in our electrical bills each month for their lack of response and coordination.

we were sold solar panels and the sales man said that once installed we would no longer pay Entergy a bill they would be actually cutting us a check due to buying back the energy that our panels make. We were told about the 2% interest rate however not the per day per diem charge we occur. We are still paying Entergy the full bill and we are not making any progress on the loan. they told us our solar panels are working like they analyzed they would and we could purchase more panels if we wanted to but they are producing as expected. They are a complete rip off. and we want them off our house and the load to be gone we still pay 280 to enteregy and 190 to ION solar for the dang panels that do nothing for our house

Thank you for sending this complaint over to us. ION Solar is committed to addressing our customer's complaints.  We value customer's feedback as an opportunity for our company to improve, furthermore ION Solar will review this complaint and will work towards a resolution with the customer. ION Solar performs a Welcome Call with the Customer at the beginning of the project to ensure that the Customer has had enough time to read and understand their agreement to their satisfaction. The customer's system was estimated to produce 9,227 kWh in the first year; the system has produced 10,259 kWh. The system is currently exceeding our estimates. If the customer would like to have additional panels added to offset their utility bill further, we can have a new proposal created. DESIGN AND INSTALLATION SPECIFICATIONS

Owner acknowledges that except for the “System Size” and “Total System Price” all other information presented to Owner and/or set forth in any of the Design and Installation Documents relating to or specifically labeled as “Estimated Yearly Production,” “Impact of Energy Efficiency”, “Estimated Consumption and Production”, “Estimated Offset”, and “Estimated Savings” is subject to change and constitutes good faith estimates only which are subject to a variety of factors completely beyond the control or specific knowledge of ION and which, therefore, cannot and shall not be construed as constituting any form of guarantee or contractual term, condition, or commitment by ION to Owner. Owner, not ION, is ultimately responsible for Owner’s utilization (or lack thereof of the Solar System and as such for any production, efficiency, consumption, production, or savings realized by Owner. NO EMPLOYEE OR REPRESENTATIVE OF US IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE ANY PROMISE TO YOU THAT IS NOT CONTAINED IN THIS AGREEMENT (WHICH INCLUDES THE DESIGN AND INSTALLATION DOCUMENTS) CONCERNING COST SAVINGS, TAX BENEFITS, OR GOVERNMENT OR UTILITY INCENTIVES. YOU SHOULD NOT RELY UPON ANY PROMISE OR ESTIMATE THAT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS AGREEMENT

OWNER ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF ESTIMATE NATURE OF SYSTEM INFORMATION

Owner acknowledges and agrees that the System Information set forth in this Agreement (including but not limited to the production estimates, savings/offset estimates, etc. set forth in the box above.) are good faith estimates only that have been based on data, information and input provided by Owner and for which Owner is solely and exclusively responsible. Owner further acknowledges and agrees that estimating solar production and usage is not an exact science because many factors such as weather, equipment placement, customer preferences, utility company rates and/or policies and procedures, third-party solar technology and equipment, power outages, equipment failure, tree and foliage growth, changes in Owner’s own electrical usage, etc. all impact such figures, estimates, production, and offsets. Accordingly, Owner hereby acknowledges that all such conversations, figures and estimates, including but not limited to those set forth in the System Information sections of this Agreement (regardless of whether presented verbally, in a pamphlet or other advertising materials, as part of a sales presentation or otherwise) are all provided as estimates only and not as any sort of guarantee or contractual commitment of any type. Owner acknowledges and understands that Contractor is not and cannot make any guarantees whatsoever with regard to the actual production or usage of the Solar System or any offsets to be realized as a result thereof and that under no circumstances will Owner request (or Contractor be obligated to pay for) any expected utility bill offset (or any other offset of any kind) not actually realized or earned.

      POWER OUTAGES/ONGOING UTILITY PAYMENTS

Owner understands and accepts that the Solar System will be installed in such a way that it is tied to (rather than independent of) a public utility grid that, unless specifically listed in the section entitled “Components of Solar System Installation,” does not include a power back up source. Among other things, this means that whenever the public utility grid is out of service, the Solar System will automatically shut down until the public utility grid is once again active and in service. Being tied to the grid (even if there is a power back up source) also means that Owner will continue to receive utility statements and bills for which Owner (and not Contractor) is responsible and liable. Owner shall not at any time hold Contractor responsible for any power outages and/or utility bills.
