              I agreed to purchase homeowners insurance on 11/30/2023 for $995 for a condo I had just purchased good through 6/7/2024. I should have had an HO6 Policy insuring the sheetrock walls in and personal contents. We then received a notice to pay an additional $1,089.81 from UNITED INSURANCE GROUP in Orem/Provo or our policy would cancel on March 1, 2024 despite that fact that we paid for 6 month. We feel this company is unethical. Nowhere in our documents does it state we are required to buy a 1-year policy. This company lack transparency. And, on top of this, one cannot cancel the policy and receive a refund. THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY! What insurance group is not willing to refund if you cancel a policy? The state insurance department regulators need to shut this company down. We did purchase another policy with Travelers at a substantially reduced rate of $316.00 for a full 12 month period. I expect a 100% refund. The State of Utah needs to sanction them or put them out of business.
