      The business committed to provide coursework and state required 6 hours of behind the wheel driving. Because the business is short staff of driving instructors and this was not told up front, we never were able to schedule the required drives within the desired time frame. The company needs to stop taking customers money if they cannot support the workload they are committing to with the consumer. They would only refund the portion of the behind the wheel and offered no solution. I asked for a full refund and they stated that because i signed an agreement either way they were keeping $50. So the company is keeping $50 and consumers are getting nothing in return for the services the company committed to but by no fault of the consumer could not deliver. Meanwhile my son who has completed more than half the training would have to either finish with them or start all over again with another company for the same price.

      Hello, 

      I am requesting to reopen complaint #********.  A-1 would like an opportunity to respond.  ***** filed this complaint as if no refund was issued, but A-1 did issue a refund the day it was requested 8/9/2023. Credit posted 8/10/2023.

      I have attached copies of ***** *******'s original receipt registering his son for Driver education, refund receipt dated 8/10/2023, login history and notes, student profile showing student lesson status (lesson 6 of 9 complete), and A-1's contract signed at registration. 

      A-1 is sorry they were not able to accommodate ****** when he called. 
      A-1 did refund the card used at registration for the driving portion of the program $200.  Because ****** was on lesson 6 of 9 it made sense for him to complete the online program vs. starting over at another school.  The Utah state Administrative code does not let students transfer coursework between schools. the student contract that the student signs prior submitting any kind of payment to A-1, states the refund policy.
      A-1 admin who spoke to ***** explained the benefits of having his son complete the coursework with A-1.  If ***** would rather his student start the coursework over at another school A-1 will refund another $100. But because ****** has completed more than half of the coursework and had been registered for 3 months at the time of the request a full refund is not available.

      Paid $350.00 (the price up 23% from the year before) for classes for my kid last March, and here it is almost 4 months later. It is IMPOSSIBLE to get on the schedule for any actual driving instruction, even though we are on the waitlist, and log in every Wednesday the moment the schedule is "avaliable." Ridiculous!!! This business does NOT provide the service promised.
