talked to some sales guy to buy a car. they told me to do the finance application which i did and got no reply after several hours not even next day. I asked them to take down before but they gave me no response. When i kept calling for someone to respond they said they sold it even after checking my CREDIT. They ran my CREDIT knowing they are selling or already sold the vehicle.Very bad practise to run the customer CREDIT without any intent to sell the vehicle.Business Response

We cannot hold any vehicle without a deposit unfortunately. Running credit is the first step to seeing if you even qualify for a loan, and everyone is required to run credit when buying a car. I'm sorry you missed out on this car but we did not do anything wrong. Until a car has money on it we can't hold it.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: i did kept asking to put money down but i was not told to put anything. I asked them to put money down through debit card or credit card.
I did my application at 2.30 pm and i kept calling to get a response and to see how i can put money down.
i was told yesterday that the car got sold at 6 pm.
The manager Zee knew i had done application on that vehicle but choose to not give me any response even when i they ran my credit at 2.30 pm and they sold vehicle at 6 pm to someone else. This is a bad practise for any business to run someones credit and then not giving them response for hours and selling the vehicle to someone else.
If you have any proof other than what i said about the occurrence of these events please provide proof here.
Sincerely,

On November 8, 2024, my partner and I visited Prestman Auto to cancel a vehicle purchase contract she signed on November 7, 2024. We informed the dealership that my partner would not be providing proof of income, and thus, would not finalize the loan. During our 2.5-hour visit, we experienced high-pressure sales tactics, coercion, and deceptive practices. A staff member named Eric falsely claimed to be the General Manager, using this impersonation to assert authority and intimidate us into staying in the contract. He then forcibly removed me from the office, stating he would not void the contract until I left, isolating my partner and making her feel vulnerable. Eric also claimed he could bypass proof of income requirements and had done so many times, implying unethical loan practices. This claim was similar to an earlier statement made by another staff member, Hailey. Additionally, Hailey accused me of being “likely abusive” in front of my partner, a baseless and damaging statement meant to discredit and further pressure her. A sales manager named JD falsely claimed there would be a $3,000 fee to cancel the agreement, which was not stipulated in the contract. These actions caused significant emotional distress, as my partner felt overwhelmed and intimidated. We have a recording of the final 20 minutes of our visit, capturing Eric’s impersonation, coercion, and false statements. Desired Resolution: I request that Prestman Auto be held accountable for their deceptive and high-pressure tactics. I urge the BBB to investigate and ensure they adhere to ethical business practices, and I would appreciate any support in resolving this matter and preventing similar behavior toward other consumers.Business Response

Hello *****, it is with my sincerest apologies that I provide a formal, " I am sorry." I am sorry you had this experience in our dealership based upon your own recollection. As the business owner, I do want to clear up any misunderstanding that may have occurred during your time spent here. Based off of what I was able to gather from the team as well as the customer who was actually part of the transaction. It was made well aware to me that you continuously interjected on behalf of the customer who was the only one on the transaction. We do value the input of family and friends. However, with this being a serious purchase, we do our best to solely focus on what our clients needs are and also what our finance department needs in order to secure the best possible outcome for our customer who is purchasing a vehicle. In this case, we have rescinded all information and retracted on our end all components of the deal with the customer who was involved. All parts of this 'sale' have been retracted and unwound, the customer drove off our lot in her previous vehicle. Thank you for your time,
Prestman Auto

I am rejecting this response because:
I am rejecting this response because it does not address the core issues. I have audio evidence where employees of Prestman Auto, including individuals named DJ (or JD), Hailey, and Eric, made misleading statements regarding the contract terms and their ability to bypass banking regulations for proof of income. These statements were intended to pressure the customer into an unfavorable agreement. The customer was also subjected to intimidation when Eric, who claimed to be the GM, insisted I leave the office, despite the customer's explicit wish for me to stay. This insistence was based on a misrepresentation of legal obligations, as there is no law prohibiting discussions with non-signatories in such settings. The employees can claim whatever they want, but I have evidence to back up everything I say. I will gladly provide the audio recording to anyone at the BBB or any other regulatory or enforcement agencies.
We were ultimately able to exit the contract due to my understanding of the terms and rights involved, which seemed to upset the dealership staff when their coercive tactics were shut down. The employees at the dealership kept the customer there for 2 hours badgering her, threatening her, and lying to her. This might be a surprise to people that deal so unscrupulously, but customers are not required to entertain every high-pressure sales tactic thrown at them. The customer made her wishes clear from the beginning, and the dealership employees refused to respect her wishes, which is why I started to shut them down. The dealership employees, especially Eric and Hailey, simply refused to take rejection in a professional way. In the end, we got out of the contract because I was correct. Had I not been there, the customer would have been intimidated into remining in the contract. I hope this provides context to why we believe the response from Prestman Auto does not reflect the true nature of the interactions.
Sincerely,

I purchased a van from this company a year and a half ago. Since I purchased the van I’ve had nothing but issues. I understand that all cars may have issues and so I’ve tried to work through them as they come. However, starting in early October the check engine light came on. The problem was a more serious one and the warranty that I purchased through the dealership refused to cover the repairs. I contacted the dealership but was ignored until I left a bad review online. After I left a bad review the company said they would help cover a portion of the repairs. I agreed and finally after 3 weeks of going back and forth the repairs were finally made. I decided that since the warranty would not be covering anything I would request a refund for the warranty. The warranty company told me that all refunds were to be done through the dealership, which was supported by the contract I signed when I purchased it. Despite this the dealership repeatedly told me that they had nothing to do with the warranty despite the fact that they sold it and it states in their contract that they would be responsible for returning the warranty. I went back and forth with the dealership and was repeatedly told incorrect information before being ignored entirely. I sent them messages and showed them where the contract stated they were supposed to return the funds to me but I was ignored. I was finally told that I would be passed to their administrative department. I have yet to be contacted and am certain that they are only trying to wait me out hoping that I will forget about it and they don’t have to return my money.Business Response

The warranty company is completing their payment of the last repair. They will have that processed tomorrow. The warranty is pro rata & any refund will be returned to the lien holder. To pay down the loan balance. You'll receive communication once that has been finalized.Customer Answer

09/26/2023 Amount financed. $37,175.46 $1000 for a deposit Played the run around of call the bank to get it corrected. Spelled the co-signers name completely wrong, when asked to take it off told him it's too late since he signed it. All paperwork spelling is completely wrong, and they are not going to do anything to resolve this situation. Have promised to call the bank, call us back and trying to get this resolved as quickly as possible. Vehicle is still in their possession as it has not been received by us, seen, or even touched by us. It has never been in the same state. Less than 24 hours of signing and they are unwilling to work with us. We would have refinanced but at this point we just want out.Business Response

I purchased a vehicle from Prestman auto back in 2019. Since then, the vehicle has broken down twice. In the first instance Prestman was able to fix it but it took hours of me calling the dealer and the third party warranty only for them to give me the run around. This most recent case, the car engine has failed again and my car has been sitting in a lot for over 30 days with Prestman Auto not doing the work. I call the warranty ckmoany and they say theyre waiting on Prestman. I call Prestman and no one ever answers. The car is still sitting at the dealership and Prestman makes it unbearably difficult to work with them as a consumer.Business Response

We were waiting for full authorization to make the necessary repair to ********************************* Infiniti. This particular case took longer for the inspector to conclude. The warranty company did more diligence than a typical small repair. Given, the now needed repair is a complete engine replacement. That will run around $25,000.00 We now have the authorization to continue. And the car in question has been delivered to our location. Once the parts are here. We will begin the engine replacement. We have been in contact with ***************************** & are working with him to get this completed.Initial Complaint
