On July 29, 2023, I went to My Hearing Center for a hearing exam. They were a tier one provider in my insurance plan. It was found that I needed hearing aids. The receptionist ran my insurance to tell me what I was eligible for in a hearing aid. I was told that my benefits stated I was eligible for $2500 per ear. They put me in a $5000 pair of hearing aids. They said if I wanted to take them that day I would have to fill out a loan and I would be reimbursed when the insurance paid out. They asked me to sign a form stating that if the insurance didn’t pay as expected I would have to pay the difference. I asked if they have dealt with my insurance before and if this was normal practice. I was assured that it was how the process worked and that they have never had issues before with the payout. I asked what would happen if they didn’t get what was expected and ****** told me we would work it out. They billed my insurance under a doctor that I never saw. It turns out that doctor has a contract with my insurance. The contract with that doctor provided a discount and the payment sent was about $2100. Since I signed the form, I am responsible for the difference. I am not happy with how I was told the process worked because they did not say anything about billing under a doctor I never saw. They should have know what my insurance company allowed. I feel that I was misinformed and taken advantage of since I never went through this process before. They should know what the insurance plans pay. When I found out that I would have to pay the extra, I asked if I could return the hearing aids and get a pair that would be fully covered by my insurance and I was told no. My health insurance company told me that the company told them that they offered that as an option but that is a lie. Ideally I would like reimbursement. However, at a minimum, I would like their selling practices looked into as they committed fraud by billing under a doctor I never saw.Initial Complaint

On 11-07-2023 we went to Hearing center for a hearing test and was told that we ( My Wife and I ) need hearing aids . We did accept that fact and proceeded to get them at a Cost of 7400.00 for each of us . Since then we have been back several times and they still are not to our satisfaction, tinney and just not clear, BUT the big problem is the cost. I have recently found out that I can go even on line and buy the IDENTICAL HEARING AIDS for $2999.00 per pair and they charged us $7400.00 for each of us and I could have gone to Kaiser and got them for MUCH LESS BUT they did not give us the option. I might be $%^&*( but one does not know until they try. Thank You ****** *******Initial Complaint

This company is a provider within my insurance network, yet they refuse to correctly file the insurance claim so my insurance covers part of the cost. I have conferenced with my insurance provider and My Hearing Center personnel and still no resolution.Initial Complaint

I went to my hearing center got my hearing checked hearing test at he recommended hearing aids. I got the hearing aid I was on power level three and need to try molds. The molds were made wrong and are kept arguing. Everything was too loud and too sharp errors hurting my ears. This went on for almost 8 months. I went to another provider got a hearing test, the test she gave me at my hearing center was wrong. The one from the year before and the year after my hearing center are the same but my one from the hearing center is wrong now they’re giving me the runaround come every four weeks try to correct the problem , I just don’t know what to do. They just took my money and try and show me on now.Initial Complaint

My Father in Law is 90 years old and lives in an assistant living facility. When his hearing aids were not working I mailed them to the hearing facility he received them from, he no longer lives in the town where he bought them nor does the hearing center exist in that town any longer. Since the problem was the hearing aids were not keeping a charge I also sent in the charging station. The hearing center had to send them out to be repaired and told us they would be back within the week. 3 weeks later they still were not returned. We called the hearing center and they said we just sent them out. When we received the package the charging station was not in it just the hearing aids.. We called the hearing center and they told us 2 people saw the charging station go into the package. when the package was receive there were more than 2 people that looked in the package and did not see the charging station. The hearing centers only solution was to sell him a charging station, they had a used they could sell for $50 or we could go and buy a new one, a new one is around $300 and they were not taking any responsibility for it not being returned. I am not even sure he received the right hearing aids back due to they looked different. I suggested that since the address on my father in laws box was not even correct that maybe some boxes got mixed up at the hearing center. They informed that did not happen. I do not feel he should have to buy a charging station for the one that was lost at the hearing center.Initial Complaint

I purchased hearing aids from My Hearing Centers in Klamath Falls, OR about 4 years ago. At first their service was good but over time became increasingly worse. This past May my hearing aids became very noisy and they were unable to correct the problem locally. They were sent off for service but when they were returned they had a bigger problem. They now have a very loud screeching noise that can be reduced by adjusting the volume down but the problem remains. I can't put my hand near my ears, wear a hat, wear glasses or get my phone near the aids. At first I was told they could not be fixed but would likely have to be replaced. I was told they were not trying to sell me new hearing devices but it sure seemed that that in fact what they were doing. I was given loaners while they supposedly tried to fix them. I picked them up yesterday but they are the same. I need the hearing aids but do not know where to go from here.
