This business is where I purchased the services for an interlock device to be installed in my truck. Every 60 days I have to get the device calibrated and then they charge me always with at least a few “violations” which I don’t drink and I blow into the machine every time I’m supposed to. I do not trust them whatsoever with the charges. On top of that they installed a camera and ever since then it’s been killing my battery so I had the battery tested and I was told at the battery shop that my battery is practically new and works fine and that it’s gotta be the interlock device killing it. So I had to jump it the end of December and once that happens I had a few days before I had to pay an early service fee and have it fixed or else my truck would shut off. I wasn’t able to do that and I didn’t want to give them anymore money so I had to wait until the end of January and tow my truck to their shop. Now it happened again and they’re telling me I need to buy a new battery and pay a bunch more money even though my battery is fine. So I decided I’ve had enough and I’ve been trying to make appointments to get it removed so that I can go to a different company and I’ve tried multiple times and they are ignoring my requests and when I try to call them on the phone they hang up on me. This has made me late to work multiple times. I’ve been stranded multiple times having to be jumped or when the device is malfunctioning. I’ve paid so much money. They don’t get back to me when I text or message them. I feel like they’ve taken advantage of me and now they won’t let me schedule an appointment, my truck won’t start and I can’t get anyone on the phone to help. I’m so disgusted with what they’re are doing and I don’t think it’s legal. If I had enough for an attorney I’d sue them. I screenshotted when I called last night and how they just hung up. I have all the texts and how it takes them so long to get back to me. Now I’d like to have them provide proof of all the charges.Business response

Absolutely appalled by this place. They know that you have to have this device in your car so they take full advantage. I have never been screwed over by a business this bad in my life. They take everything. Thousands of unjustified dollars. I can't pay bills I can't afford Christmas. I literally have nothing left. They've charged me $3k in the last month. I can't believe this has happened.Business response

I ******* hate this company. I’m sorry there’s no way around it. I just got the device from A1 interlock installed on my car last year. They have charged me so much money and fees today. They are charging me 170 after I just got the brand new device put in. I tried talking to the guy and explaining it to him, but he said there’s no way this device could be having issues. You just got a calibrated two weeks ago and I’m like well it is I didn’t do anything wrong and he said I had to pay the $170. Otherwise my car is gonna get shut off and I said there’s I didn’t do anything wrong. You guys listen to the beeps before why won’t you listen to the beeping on the device now Because I didn’t do anything wrong and they’re charging me and they won’t listen. This business, all of a sudden charge $200 for a camera that needed to be installed on my vehicle DUE TO STATE LAW, I understand that. Upon installation they damaged my dashboard and are always unable to be gotten ahold of. This company also charges for violations on the interlock device itself, but you can never get a hold of them to find out what the violation is, and why the violation is there, also charges for things that they can't explain or won't explain because you can never get ahold of anybody. What I am going for is possibly being able to have them explain to me charges and what they are willing to do to fix my dashboard when they installed this camera and damaged my dashboard. I would also like to see possibly a customer service line where individuals being told they need their services could actually talk to somebody or get a hold of somebody and then be willing to help you without always pushing you to the app that nobody ever gets a hold of you back on. camera was installed on 10/24/2025 and i picked it up early morning of the 25th and noticed the damage. filling this out i also noticed two more charges for 55 dollars for each that i cant get ahold of anyone to explain.Initial Complaint

This business charged me over $2000 in unjustified fees. I didn't expect to be dealing with a company so unjust or I would've gone somewhere else. I wish I had recorded every interaction because they definitely did unlawful actions but I have no proof unfortunately. A1 locked me out of my car and made me tow my car to their shop and then once they fixed the problem they parked it in a tow zone and got my car towed to the impound lot and won’t pay for the expensesInitial Complaint

In the first attempt to collect a false charge to my account was unsuccessful in the amount of 103.50$ on or about July 30, 2024 after which in person I spoke to the technician about them charging me 103.50$ for mobile service when him and I did not conduct a mobile service the day of July 30,2024 and he told me to contact A1 and contest the alleged charges because he remembered the previous calibration and he did not complete a Mobil service he is a resident of California and only preformed service for the company . That day I contacted customer service about the amount they had attempted to charge my bank card which was declined, Shortly after submitting the complaint and inquiries I was charged another 453.99$ dollars where took from my bank card . One of the alleged charges was from June 22, 2023, almost two months later I was charged and that is wrong along with the rest of the charges that are also incorrect just like the 103.50$ they falsely attempted to withdraw from my account and that would be considered theft for inaccurate incompetence and fraudulent charges by unethical practices by the company and now where in the contract does it state that I can be charged two months after said alleged charges for breach of contact then charging me two months after is a breach of contact. This company has zero accountability for if I had the money available to withdraw they would of fraudulently and attempted to fraudulently remove my belongings from my account, my bank and will not have this company mistakes withdrawing/ attempting to withdraw from my bank without proper procedures and as I pay for my mistakes , I will not allow this company to allow mistakes without a response and consequences.Initial Complaint

On February 7, 2024 I went to A1 interlock to help a friend get their device removed and then drive the vehicle to the new state they moved to. A1 tried to take an additional 600 out of my friends account, locked me out of the location in the snow (45 degree weather) and threatened to keep the truck if we didn't give them more money AFTER they had already took out 600. After threatening to report the vehicle stolen to the police then they were willing to work with us. NIGHTMARE. They continued to try running the card info after we got the truck and were already out of the state of Utah. They didn't stop for months, Thank God my friend put an immediate stop that day on February 7th, and requested a new card because they continued to try to take money out without any authorization for months!. Super shady business practices not sure it's even legal what they do to people because they were threatening two other women the same way they threatened us and tried to force money from us.Initial Complaint

THIS COMPANY IS SUCH A JOKE OMG LOL SERIOUSLY DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM I SERIOUSLY HOPE EVERYONE SEES THIS BEFORE THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU!!!! Scam thieves and very unprofessional! They made us wait on a public road no restrooms in the sun! Then they make up amounts to get it removed or monthly charges first the removal fee was $379 then get there it’s $1900 wtf! Can’t get it removed out of a car that’s been sold! They hold you hostage with outrageous fees with shady practices! Taking advantage of people! I hope this lawsuit they are in already shuts their shady company down! Like how are they able to do this to people? Contacting better business bureau posting as many reviews as I can! Possibly look into legal action at this point!
