    My boyfriend got a job in Alexandria, VA and we needed to move there from Pittsburgh within two weeks. We found an apartment and applied on September 27, paying $50 each for an application fee and an additional $250 for an amenities fee via a software called **** ****. I called someone from their office and they told me the $250 was refundable if we decided against the apartment, so we put in an application. Once it was accepted, I emailed a man named ****** from their office, asking questions about the unit. He was rude and did not give me any information. Once I complained, my emails to him began bouncing back to me, saying his email no longer existed. I then went on their website and it was down. I called the business and they said they were in the process of being bought by another business. I asked for my money back since we needed to find a new apartment since this one seemed unreliable. He said he could not get me money back since it was a different business. I texted back and forth with a man from the new company and he said he could do nothing since it was the previous company's policy not to refund the amenity fee, even though someone on the phone told me they'd refund me if I decided to go elsewhere. We are aware we cannot get the application fee back, but we feel entitled to the deposit of $250.

    When I first moved into Huntington Gateway back in June 2019 it was probably one of the best Apartments Ihave ever moved in. The leasing staff were fun and engaging. Knew almost everyone by name, planned interesting events for the community for us to live as one. When air communities bought the place from the previous owners, everything went downhill fast. Dog feces everywhere, different kinds of rodents and bugs all over the place, someone pulling the fire alarm almost 4 times a week. Pet urine in the hallways and carpets, the smell of weed and loud music all hours of the night and when I called the leasing office to complain they told us to call the police(why would I do that for a noise complaint). Someone pour carpet cleaner and cayenne pepper in the hallway every day for months to deter the pet urine(trying to poison our dogs) Good luck trying to move out of here because they tack you on with additional fees. If you want to select month to month you will have to pay a premium and also you will have to let them know 2 months in advanced which is completely ridiculous and literally cancels out the need for being on a month-to-month lease. Paola who works at head quarters was helpful, bri at Huntington was also very helpful. Bailie L*************** was absolutely rude to my wife and I. She sounded super aggressive was wasn’t trying to meet us halfway at all. She made it her mission to call me multiple times just to tell me there isn’t anything that she could do. Jessica morrone- president acts like she is your friend but completely ignores your messages when she said she will get this situated. Richard D**** the assistant president’s phone number gets forwarded to a seafood place I will never allow my friends and family to succumb to the absolute mental exhaustion that is living at Huntington Gateway now own by air communities.
