1 starMy 81 year old husband, 100%, combat disabled veteran, went to test drive a maverick for our grandson and ended up buying one for himself. I always accompany him on a large purchase but did not on this day. The list price was 38000$ and he traded in his ranger for 8000$ and he purchased and xtended warranty so I assumed we owed around *****. A few days later as I was looking over the paperwork we owed more than the list price I immediately accompanied him back to Malloy and was told that there was around a 5000$ dealer markup. This was the first he had heard of this and I feel he was taken advantage of. This may not be illegal but it is definitely immoral. Of course their response we are so sorry but there is nothing we can do. Please be aware of the policies of Malloy Ford in *************Review fromRick N

1 starMalloy Ford does not do what they say. I was looking to purchase a vehicle from them and was told I had to finance a minimum of $5,000 and could pay cash for the rest. When the finance manager finally called after 2 days they said more than $30,000 had to be financed. I had already booked airline tickets and everything. They have the worst customer service. I did not end up buying the vehicle from them. Watch out for ******************************* (JC) he does not do what he says he is going to do. He even was rude enough to hang up on my wife.Review fromSean C

1 starI purchased an F150 Lightening from Malloy Ford in ********** in May 2024. My experience with the personnel was awful. They are dishonest. At the end of the sale, I was approached with all of the extras that you can buy. I said not to all of them, but did agree to have the bed of my truck lined. I was told they were going to do it at the dealership and that the dealership would provide a warranty. I said yes because I liked the idea of the dealership doing it and them giving a warranty. Turns out that was not true. After brining my truck in to for service and leaving the dealership, they took my car at least 20 miles away to a third-party vendor (40 miles round trip). I did not ok them taking my vehicle off of the lot. It was clear two people had been in the car having a joy ride. I called company that they used and that was providing me a warranty and asked how much the service was, they gave me a price for $200 less than what I paid the dealer. When I complained to the dealer they said the cost difference was a wash because they had to their employees to take the car to the other vendor. I should not have had to paid for there employees to take my car somewhere that I did not authorize. The manager told me he would call me back after I complained. I never received a call back. Also, I was told that my car would have functionalities that it does not. For example, I was told I could use my phone as a key. I have now learned that function is not available in the model truck that I have.Review fromCharles R

1 starI have been a customer of this particular dealership for decades, now and in its previous iteration as ******** i recently had an experience with them that is singly the worst I've ever had with any car dealership over the last 50-plus years. We have had multiple recalls on a vehicle we bought from this dealership in 2022. We received the latest one earlier this month that would purpotedly fix a very serious problem we had been alerted to last July. I called the service department at Malloy and was told that they had no knowledge of the fix described in the recall notice I'd received from *************** but that they DID have a fix for another unrelated recall, and that they could fix that less dangerous recall. I asked why I had gotten the notice to call them to get it fixed and the service person suggested I call a **** customer service number that he provided. I did that, after multiple transfers and dropped calls, was told the letter was a mistake and that i still had to wait for the fix.Except it wasn't a mistake I later that day got a call from someone at **** Recall/Customer Service saying that ********************** DID have the ability to fix the car under recall, and he offered to patch me in with Malloy to get this scheduled.Someone identifying himself as the son of Malloy, the owner, insulted me right off the bat, was extremely abusive, accusatory, and profane over the phone. He lied about my contact with the dealership, and when I pointed out that it was a **** PR person (who was recording the call) had initiated the call, he put his father on. This alleged owner of Malloy Ford was also abusive, at one point suggesting I carry a fire extinguisher if I was worried about the car starting on fire. Deplorable. The next day, I drove to Ourisman ****, where I was courteously told that they had the required fix and would be happy to do it. I will never go back to Malloy, and suggest others stay as far away from them as possible. Horrible ownership.Review fromDavid K

1 star4/6/2024 Re: Complaint Against Malloy Ford to the Better Business Bureau We were customers of Jerry’s Ford, the predecessor of Malloy Ford at **** ****** ***** ********* ********** **. We never had any problem with Jerry’s Ford. I bought a new battery from Malloy Ford back in January 2024. Precisely one week later, the battery died. Mr. Trey D*****, the Service Manager, suggested I should return it and he will give me a refund. I did return the battery and he eventually sent me a partial refund of $177 for a battery I bought for $244. In fact, Geoffrey Malloy, the President of that dealership, is running a scam shop. Now, if you were to take your car there in response to their frequent email ads that they can do an oil and filter change that won’t cost you more than $100, and you will save money, you will be surprised that your final bill after including certain services will be about $700. I have receipts for all these allegations. Mr. D. K***, the General Manager, Mr. D*****, and the Service Guys in the shop all work together in dodging the customer.Review fromStix M

1 starAfter multiple calls to Malloy Alexandria dealership they still refuse to call back. I purchased a vehicle less than 24 hours ago and found the alignment so bad its dangerous to let the steering wheel out of my hands. I called and got the usual "let me transfer you" bullshit. Once you're out the door then it sucks to be you in your lemon.Review fromBrian M

1 starI went to Malloy Ford of Alexandria, and they railroaded me into a Ford Edge, giving up my Ford Mustang. I went back the next day, begging to get my car back. They laughed at me. Ive been back 5 times, to no avail. they got me good during a senior moment. They care nothing about their customers after the deal is done. They texted me stating that they would sell me my car back at the price that they paid, plus service work done. I went back up and they said that would be $19000. Please everyone beware of Malloy Ford of Alexandria. They con people into doing something they will regret. once they usher you out the door, they want nothing to do with you.Review fromtyler c

1 stari purchased a 2015 ford mustang from malloy ford of Charlottesville. they shipped the car down from Alexandria for me. upon seeing the car i saw the tires were low on tread. 3/32s on the outer shoulder and 4/32s on the inner shoulders of both front tires. Eric was the sales manager at the time. he offered to sell me two tires before i even signed the paper work. not via the sales dept paying for it via a we owe, but me the customer pay for it. the DOT number on the tires indicated theyre from 2015 and rolled off the assembly line with the car. after showing the photos to Eric on how dry rotted they were he finally replaced them. but like Billy mays said but wait theres more! the passenger seat was so loose the whole assembly could be shaken by hand. low and behold the seat bolts were finger loose. brought it up to eric and he got that fixed as well. this is where it gets great. the car had a sticker on the window for 2 months up north that advertised the car as having heated seats. when i went to replace the seat cover because malloy hired someone who over sprayed on my seat belt buckles and left my seats loose. i noticed the seat covers came up as black. but the seats are a milled pebble color... the car came with recaros (all black leather) yet somehow theyre advertising this car with heated seats. their fall back is another company makes the window stickers for them. and that they never advertised it with those options in cville. that stickers fine print apparently covers omissions from that sheet.... omissions would info withheld not falsely advertised. hence the definition of the word.... when a company needs to fall back on the fine print cause their sales model is that of Mathilda's father from the movies then you know something's wrong mistakes happen in any industry/business but this many in a row aren't mistakes. they are lack of integrity and work ethic.
