Adopted an amazing kitten named ****** from Lucky Dog on September 4th, 2022. She started showing signs of sickness on September 10th, 2022. We brought her to the ** on September 11th, 2022 and she passed on September 12th, 2022. The experience was incredibly traumatic. When we brought her to the Vet, the Vet asked us the age of our kitten? We were told she was 8 weeks old (born July 4th, 2022) and the Vet told us there was no way that this Kitten was 8 weeks old, she was way too little. Lucky Dog stated our kitten had a clean bill of health, but our Vet asked why was she given Capstar Nitenpyram which is given to cats that CURRENTLY have fleas? We would later find out that another kitten in the five kitten litter had passed away. All in all, we spent over $2,500 on Medical Bills for a cat we only had for 8 days.I requested a meeting with *************************** the Director of Lucky Dog to speak on many of my concerns. When we brought up the age of our kitten she stated, "We guesstimate the ages of many of our kittens.". When we asked why she would give a healthy cat Capstar Niterpyram, she stated, "We give all our animals that before they are transported (Would you give a healthy child cancer medication as a preventative? Anyway, I digress). When we requested our $175 adoption fee back, she stated she wouldn't give it back to us, but we can adopt another kitten free of charge. In ******** there are Pet Lemon laws and it seems as if Lucky Dog doesn't respect the law ( 3.2-6514. Consumer remedies for receipt of diseased animal upon certification by veterinarian (*************. I can ramble on and on about Lucky Dog and many of their questionable behaviors. If I could no star this business I would. I would never do business with them again.

My experience was horrible. After taking home a puppy, I emailed with concerns and was pressured to bring the dog back. I requested more time to allow the puppy to adjust and to hire a trainer. I was told that if I didn’t bring her in the next day, they would not take her back at all. After I brought her back, I received a letter stating that I would not be eligible for another dog. This should have been mentioned in the conversation about bringing her back. Then the director agreed that the staff person should not have applied pressure to get me to return the dog. She agreed that I should get another dog. That was over a month ago. After countless emails, she says I gave the dog back and she doesn’t have to give me another one and stopped responding to email. They kept my $425. The reason for returning the dog was that she bit both of my children. She was really young. I was willing to work with a trainer to correct the behavior. This business is just super shady. There are many other clients with a similar story in the reviews on social media.
