On February 9, 2023, Raymond F. Munz, DDS, pulled all of my teeth in preparation for dental implants and dentures. I gave him a partial payment of $5,187.00. On May 22, 2023, after allowing time for my gums to heal, I returned to Dr. Munz for wax fittings for upper and lower dentures. I gave him another partial payment of $4,000 to cover the cost of the dentures. On July 27, 2023, I returned to try on the dentures. I made another partial payment of $800.00. On August 28, 2023, Dr. Munz performed surgical placement of 8 implants and gave me temporary dentures to wear until the implant areas healed. I made a final payment of $5,718.00. The dentures did not fit. On September 21, 2023, I returned to receive the permanent dentures. They did not fit, so another fitting was done. On October 26, I returned to receive the permanent dentures. Once again they did not fit, so another fitting was done. On November 6, 2023, I returned to receive the permanent dentures. They did not fit. Another fitting was done. I was given December 5, 2023, as the next appointment to get dentures. On December 4, 2023, Dr. Munz’s office assistant called to say they had not received the dentures from the lab because the lab was confused about what they were supposed to do. She re-scheduled the appointment until December 7, 2023. I then called another implant dentist, who saw me on December 5, did wax impressions on December 7, and placed natural looking, properly fitting, comfortable dentures on the implants. This cost $6,492.00 in addition to the $15,705.00 that I paid Dr. Munz. On December 20, 2023, I sent a letter by certified mail to Dr. Munz requesting a refund of $4,468.00. His office did not sign for this letter and did not pick it up at the post office. I also sent a copy of the letter by regular mail. In January 2024, Dr. Munz called me to say he received the letter but could not refund any of my money. If Dr. Munz will refund $4,468.00 to me I will consider the problem resolved.

    Business Response

Due to HIPPA we can not really discuss.   We did all the work he paid for and he never came back for the final product, he chose to go somewhere else.   There are step involved in this process and we did everything in each one of the steps.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. In my original complaint, I asked for a refund of the money that I paid to Dr. Munz for implant dentures. After several fittings for dentures at his office, I did go back several times to get my dentures, but they never fit me properly. So I left without them several times.  After all of my teeth were extracted, I lived without teeth for over 10 months while waiting for Dr. Munz to produce properly fitting dentures. After they postponed my final appointment with them, I lost confidence in Dr. Munz and went to another dentist, who provided me in 10 days what Dr. Munz did not provide me in 10 MONTHS.  I still expect Dr. Munz to do the right thing and pay me a refund of $4,468.00 for the dentures that I paid for and he failed to provide. Regards, ******* *****
