Date of Transaction: Potential engine drop-off discussed on 3/16. Engine was officially dropped-off with the owner, Adam, on 3/18. Money paid to business: Per agreement with Adam, none up front. After disassembly, a charge of ~$250 would apply. If additional work was to be done, the ~$250 for disassembly would be rolled into the cost of repair. What the business committed: To disassemble the engine and identify the failure. Once that was determined, the business was to identify what was needed to repair the engine and provide estimates to complete the work, including parts and labor. The business agreed to not do work beyond the initial diassambly, which would be ~$250, so we know what work would be necessary. The business provided an estimate of completing the disassembly by 3/27. What the nature of the dispute is: I have been unable to reach the business, owned by Adam, since my first follow-up on 4/3. The voicemail of the business's listed phone number was full. I attempted calls on 4/5, 4/11, 4/12, 4/13, 4/14, 4/18, 4/19, and 4/21. Text message sent to business phone number (suspected cell phone) on 4/14 politely asking for an update and noting that multiple phone calls had been placed but the voicemail is always full so I cannot leave a message. The repair shop that removed the engine has also made multiple attempts via phone call, text, and ******** message to contact the business to no avail. At this point, I just want the engine back. I have zero problem paying for any labor that has been performed, up to the ~$250 price discussed originally, assuming the engine and all parts, nuts, bolts, etc. are returned. The business has not tried to resolve the problem because they are seemingly unreachable. Screenshots of my call history and text messages are available.
