I just found out that the company is not in business anymore. I have tried reaching them 10 times today and their message states they are closed and not accepting any calls for service.

My central air conditioning system was not cooling properly. I have a home warranty agreement with American Home Shield, but initially brought in and outside company to be sure I would have a 2nd opinion concerning the issue. That company found there was a leak in an air handler coil and gave me an estimate to fix it. I then called AHS and they assigned Efficient Air Systems to fix the problem. On their first trip they offered there was no freon in the system. They performed a nitrogen leak search and found no leaks. I found that odd because with no freon left in the system, it had to have leaked from somewhere. They offered that solving the problem would require recharging the system with 11 lbs. of refrigerant (which is not covered under the home warranty) at a cost of $1430.00. Wanting to get my home cooled again I agreed to it. This had now taken about 10 days. When they came to charge the system, it froze up, not allowing the freon to properly go in. They then looked to see why and found that the air handler coil was damaged (as the other company diagnosed and they missed). As the system is under 10 years old the part(s) were covered by the manufacturer. It took over a week for them to come back and make the repair and charge the system. As the outside temperature was not warm enough to require the system to go on, there was no telling if it was properly repaired or not. Sure enough, on the first warm day the system would not cool to 73 degrees. We called them back (now their 4th trip) and had to wait two days and warm nights for them to show back up. As we were understandably upset with this entire saga, the repairman did not accept my frustration, and told me if I did not improve my attitude, he would leave. I bit my lip and let him continue. He offered the system was not completely charged. He added freon and it appeared to work. We went away a week later and when we came back, it could get no cooler than 75 degrees during the day.

    ****************,

Unfortunately for you our retail business process is completely different from your the criteria and sequence of operation as a 3rd person in your relationship with your warranty company. We are obligated to work within the guidelines you warranty contract is with your warranty company.

    1. As for the timeline: we cannot control when you put in a claim and we respond. We are always within 48 hours *** which is there guideline. We cannot control your initial claim to them.

    2. Yes, charging a system with lower temps can cause a problem with pressures and we error on the side of caution to not "overcharge " your system . Reluctantly the weather this spring has been up and down and unpredictable.

    3. The amount you paid for the charge is warrantied through our company and if the coil had been damaged, then yes , your home warranty wants to know how and why prior to authorizing us to replace your coil. Your refrigerant paid was warranty and remains.

You should contact your warranty company from this point on or just call our office.

    Respectfully

    ***************************

    President
