On Sundays, I use to walk to the Allied Cab Co on Fort Ave to get a cab home. I did this for more than 3 years with no problems, until June 4th, 2023. A driver said he was new to Lynchburg so he wanted me to give him directions. It went well at first but then he started sounding aggressive. When he asked me if the building was on the right side, I didn’t answer because we were already at the driveway. I told him to turn into the driveway, but he didn’t, and we passed it. He was shouting and he said he was going to drop me off at an address I never heard of. He turned around and came to my building. I gave him the money and got out. I was so mad I slammed the door. When I went in, he yelled inside my building, “Come back out here! I got something for ya!” My mom heard him and went outside. I went back out too. He refused to talk to me. I told him I was sorry. Then he cursed at me. He demanded to know who was going to pay for the window because, according to him, when I slammed the door the window cracked. He said Allied would take it out of his pay. We didn’t look at the window. My mom told him I would pay for it. The next Sunday I got a civilized driver. When we got to my apartment, a few seconds later there was another Allied cab behind the one I just got out off. Now there were two cabs in the driveway. I had been followed by this same angry man. My mom was waiting outside. He called her. We went to his cab. He said I owned him $100. My mom said she needed to see a bill. He said Allied had already taken the money out of his pay and they gave had a receipt. My mom told him to meet us at the Allied station on Tues. at 3:30. She wrote a letter telling Allied what this driver said and we took it to the station. On Thurs. she called. The manager said the driver thought the widow was cracked. She said nothing about his lies. This driver is thief.. He was looking for a way to trick me into giving him $100. He picked a fight with in his cab. Allied doesn't care.
