One March 29th, I purchased a 2016 Ford Edge from East Main Rides. The "low oil pressure" light came on during the test drive. They were told this and then they claimed they looked at it and said it was nothing. The light did go away, however, on April 1st, the vehicle started acting up and the light came on again. My parents and I then took the vehicle to my local ******** and they hooked it up to the computer and two codes came up. I cannot remember the specific codes but it had to do with the turbo and oil. When we looked under the hood, the 'tube' that needed repaired was just hanging there, so we thought that was problem. My dad hooked back up the 'tube' and on the way home the vehicle stopped working altogether. I called and East Main told me to have it towed to them. I then call back the next business day and they tell me I need to have it towed to ****** **** ** ********* ** because they're the only place that can look at it. Costing me a total of $225 in towing costs. After two months of the warranty not doing anything, they finally get an inspector to look at the car. The warranty ends up denying the claim. I, then, call East Main to see if they'll help with any of the costs. After many calls that were answered, I finally get ahold of them, but they then avoid my calls and pleas as if they don't want to deal with it. I also had to pay an evaluation fee at ****** **** of $120. I then go somewhere else to get a vehicle and count my losses.

      Business response

      05/30/2023

I have sent Miss ****** a check for $150 as the receipt stated the tow bill was. and this claim is settled

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. Regards, ******* ******

On 11/29/22 I went into East Main Rides (EMR) and bought a 2017 Ford Raptor. I am a resident of **. EMR found financing which included the cost of the truck and the VA state taxes, even though I would register the truck in **. The total for the VA state taxes came to $2,299.91. I then went home to ** with the truck. I waited more than the allotted 30 days to receive the title and registration. They initially sent it to an incorrect DMV address. After many phone calls and conversations they finally sent the title/registration directly to me. Once I received the information I took it to the DMV to register the truck in **. I was informed that I had over paid for the state taxes and I was owed $1,707.90. The total for the ** taxes came to $575. The CSR stated that I would need to contact EMR and let them know about the over payment. I called and spoke to ******* about this matter multiple times. I sent him a picture of the receipt from the DMV of the total for ** taxes and the over payment amount. He stated, each time, that he would talk to the lady that was over the taxes and tags at the dealership. I have still not received a call back. On 3/27/2023, I tried to call again and received a message that EMR has a smart blocker to block numbers and my number has been blocked.

after consulting with title clerk a check has been mailed out to Mr ********* for the amount that overpaid

As soon as I got the van the documents had to be resigned 3 x times due to him messing up paperwork. 2 days after catalytic converter went out, they "fixed" it only to tear up again a week later. Bought it Dec 2021 n drove until April 2022 when motor went out. When I called ******** the other lot the man was rude. When I talked to.main lot East Main they advised since I have GAP insurance to run the vehicle into something. Accused the lot fixing it of lying it n said maybe it didn't need it. Said they could have fixed it but when I first called was told there was no warranty. I've held my tongue over a year but I drove it 4 months n it's sat in a garage since while I pay over $5000 bill. I paid over $15000 for this vehicle. I'll never trust this lot again. I know used cars you take a gamble but honestly they should stand by their vehicles. Buyers should make sure n have any vehicle they think about buying checked first. I totally regret my decision. H opefully I'll be back in my van soon. I wish I'd get reimbursed for bill but all they said is they could sale me other car.

I bought my 2013 Nissan Altima on Feb 28th 2022 from east main rides. I've not even had it 2 months and it's already at a dealership getting fixed over a recall on the lower links that broke while on I-81 .we could have died that night.when contacting East main rides about this incident they wouldn't help me with anything, wouldn't even give me a loaner until the car was fixed. All I could get out of the manager in East main rides was "that's so unfortunate". When I bring up the fact that he should have told me about the recall He told me that they sell vehicles everyday that have recalls. But yet they fail to mention it to the buyer. These people have a very nasty reputation for selling overpriced salvaged cars, that have nothing problems from the first month on. I have also tried to contact the attorney general with no response back as of yet.i am now without a way to get back and forth to work over east main rides lying just to sale yet another faulty car. I'm very displeased in being lied to and used just to make a dollar. I love you see this place shut down So they will quit taking advantage of people.

October 2021 I purchased a 2013 Ford Escape from them, didn’t have the vehicle even 24 hrs and it began to over heat tried to bring it back out there to return it and they refused to allow me to do so. They offered to fix the issue, so I gave them a chance they told me that it was the thermostat. Went back to get the vehicle and drove it home once again service light came on showing low coolant to service and the antifreeze was low again. Took it back out there yet again and they said they fixed it. Well this time when I was there I told them about the radio not working and that something was wrong with the transmission I believed due to it would act like it was slipping they told me it was the hill assist. I went back and got my vehicle after they fixed it. About a month later it was time for an oil change on the vehicle and when I went to change the oil the oil plug was rounded off I called to ask who was the last person to change the oil and I was put on hold for about 20 mins and nobody came back to the phone. I have had the vehicle for about 6 months now and have had nothing but problems out of it. When I did contact the first couple of times and I did advise I was gonna contact a lawyer I was told I better not do it that they worked hard to get me in this vehicle and that we lived in a small place. Well here I am paying for a vehicle that I has a horrible oil leak, still over heats, radio still don’t work and it’s to the point I can normally only drive the vehicle in manual mode cause if I’m in drive there is so much hesitation and also the brake fluid low light comes on constantly as well and already replaced brake caliper cause it was stuck . This is the worse purchase of my life.
