A very scary experience and a pattern of subpar care.I will be posting an online review, but want to also warn anyone looking for a Vet about this practice. Due to character limits here I will only describe one error, but this Vet has cost me several thousand dollars due to the poor care they provided to my dog the one below being the most recent.I found two lumps on my dog. 2 yrs earlier she had 2 were mast cell tumors and 1 lipoma removed by a different Vet. I was obviously concerned and wanted these removed. We did the pre surgery testing which is required, and the Vet noticed an irregularity with my dogs heartbeat. They were aware that my dog had seen a cardiologist in the past, so the heart murmur was a known issue. Since I am not a medically trained, I expect the Vet to properly formulate any anesthesia given. I believe that as a result of their expertise or lack thereof, my dog had a seizure as they were getting her ready for surgery and stopped moving forward with the surgery. The Vet sounding very concerned advised me that the only way to have the surgery was to contact Virginia Tech or NC State and have the surgery done there. I was terribly upset thinking what if my dog needs surgery for something else then what would I do. I was very upset about the nearly $1K spent as well, but thankful that they didn't kill my dog. They asked me if I wanted them to get samples from the lumps while my dog was there, but telling me that they may or may not be able to tell if the lumps are cancer, but what do you do in that situation but say of course yes. At this point I am seriously stressed and frightened for my dog.This is one incident, but there are others and there is a pattern of poor care. My dog has since had the two lumps successfully removed by a local Vet. No seizures, or any other problems.
