On September 13, 2021, my wife and I ordered a coffee table and an end table from Capital Closeouts, with a purchase price of $722.36. The sellers promised that day the coffee table would be in on October 5, but it may take a "few weeks" longer for the end table. We have yet to receive the items. We called on 10/21/21 and were told they would be here the "next Monday," which was 10/25. We called again on 11/15 and were advised the delivery would be at least December, as the manufacturer was "still making them." My wife texted December 10th about the status; the response was the items would be in "after the first of the year." I went by the store in January and was told the projected delivery was now to be ****** My wife texted April 12 and was promised the "end table would be in by the end of this week." One of the owners told my wife she had told me "May;" this was untrue. With no delivery and no further communication, I went by the store in early June and asked to cancel the order and receive a refund. At that meeting she (owner) said it would be July, as she had told my wife. This also wasn't true. In early July my wife met with her (owner) and was told "it was on the truck and would be here soon." She also told my wife one piece was in and that she had previously let my wife know that. That is not true; neither of us was notified until the July visit the end table was supposedly at the store. Incidentally, I don't know if her statement was true or not. My wife again asked for a refund. That day she promised to call my wife by 5 PM; shortly after 5, my wife texted her, not having been contacted. Her response was "the seller" had approved a refund, MINUS a 40% "restocking fee." While the contract provided sales were final, with no refund and a 40% "restocking fee" (for something never in stock), the bottom line is at the 10 month+ **** we have not received what we paid for and the owners are expecting us to be out over $250.00.
