    I moved out of the apartment on 7/29 and Landlord provided a move out statement that did not include an itemized list of charges. The statement shows "damages $250" - damages $385 - damages $85 and $250 cleaning. I am a nursing student with limited time and have called the office several times only to be told that they were busy with move-ins and would get back to me. In addition, my mom contacted the office several times as well. It has been 70 days since move out and under tenant/Landlord law, the Landlord is required to provided an "itemized" list of changes within 45 days or refund the the Security Deposit. My mom called today to request that the $150 security deposit be returned in full and the Property Manager hung up on her and told her to do what she had to do so we are filing this complaint and will follow up with hthe general District Court if necessary.

    I am the guarantor for the apartment my daughter (*******) leased from Rivers Edge Apartments for the school year of Aug 2022-July 2023. They required a security deposit of $150 before she moved in and then was told if all was correct about the apartment when she moved out it would be returned in full. On Aug 18, 2023 she received an email statement saying that they were charging her a "cleaning charge" of $25 and she was only due $125. I know her apartment was a LOT cleaner than when she moved in, they shampooed the carpets and everything as instructed before turning in the keys. So my first complaint is their cheating her out of the $25, now 2 months later she has received nothing from them...not even the $125 as promised in the letter dated Aug 18, 2023. Now not only have they cheated her out of the $25 but the whole $150 deposit has not been refunded. I reached out to the company on Sept 25th via email inquiring about her refund check that never showed, her roommate had already received theirs a week or two earlier. I emailed again on Oct 6th, Oct 11th and again today Oct 24, 2023. I have called their office twice in Oct and the young lady that answers the phone keeps saying the financial people have to sit down together and work this out?!?!? I don't believe they have any intention of doing the right thing and returning her security deposit, I believe they regularly rip off these college kids that rent from them. Most would have given up by now, but I refuse to stand by and let them take this money from my daughter. She needs every penny as she continues to work towards her college degree at **. I appreciate your help in resolving this matter.
