I really have enjoyed being a member of Virginia Credit Union for 23 years now. They have really helped me to grow with my dreams and in providing financial education and resources when I was ready for my BIG purchases. I love the fact that they know be by name when I visit a couple of the branches that are in my normal routes. The contact center has also been helpful in answering questions and unlocking my password when I forget. I love the enhancements on the app where I can set it up for different alerts. With all the fraud that is taking place, It gives me a peace of mind to accept a charge or deny it. I do appreciate my credit union as it feels like family.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with Virginia Credit Union, which I feel compelled to share. Recently, I encountered an issue with my account and reached out to customer service several times for assistance. I spoke with representatives named **** and ****, who assured me that they would return my calls with an explanation. However, despite their promises, I never received any follow-up communication.I made multiple attempts to contact them again, but each time I was met with the same lack of response. This poor customer service and blatant negligence left me with no resolution, and ultimately, Virginia Credit Union reported incorrect information to the credit bureaus. This mistake severely impacted my credit score. The lack of accountability and follow-through was extremely frustrating, and Im deeply dissatisfied with how this situation was handled. As a customer, I expected far better communication and resolution, especially when it comes to matters affecting my financial standing. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Virginia Credit Union, as their customer service and handling of critical issues were unacceptable.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

**** has the worst customer service of any company I have to deal with. I absolutely dread having to call, and have the most frustrating conversations when I do. They're worse than ***************** *************, or any other. I've never had anyone associated with VACU be helpful in any way, in any form of communication thus far, and I completely dread having to interact. It's just flat-out dog s*** Even their contact email form is programmed to time-out and reset mid-message. Like every detail is engineered to be as frustrating as possible.Secondly and more importantly, They're scamming con-artists:Personal property taxes increased this year from $2,652.00 to $2,844.00: An increase of $192 ***************************** for this property changed from one with a premium of $1183.00 to one with a cost of $899.00: A savings of $284 284 - 192 = 92 With simple math, it's easy to determine the property incurs $92 LESS THAN the previous year in cost to VACU.Despite this simple and obvious truth, I was repeatedly lied to and told the account had a shortage of $151.63, and despite this being mathematically impossible, paid $151.63 for the fabricated ************, I'm told despite having reduced the annual expense of the property by $92.00 AND having paid an additional arbitrary $151.63, the payment will increase by $17/month.I saved VACU $242.63 compared to the previous year.they are collecting $204.00 additional dollars compared to the previous year.Basic mathematics proves they're collecting an unnecessary $446.33 over last year. This is a transparent scam, for which no one that I've talked to via customer service is able to refute or explain. Mortgage at the property should decrease by $20.30 per ******** summary, They're unethical thieves. They're scamming con-artists. They're blatantly stealing in a mathematically provable way. Employees should be ashamed to be associated with a predatory, dishonest, and morally bankrupt company.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

I am very disappointed with Virginia Credit Union (VCU) due to their recent actions. They sent me a letter stating they would take me to court over an unpaid balance, yet they offered no feasible solutions when I called and even though their letter they sent stated they would like to work with me (they led me to believe they were actually willing to make some kind of arrangement) . In February, I started a debt settlement program with ****************** which I was told included all my creditors, including VCU. Unfortunately, I was laid off from work shortly after, which led me to put the program on hold. I informed ***************** of my situation, and they assured me the program would be paused and I would be protected. Despite this, I received a letter from *** threatening legal action. I called to explain my situation and discuss options, but VCU showed no interest in resolving the matter. They failed to uphold their agreement with ***************** and did not offer any resolution. I have always been a loyal customer, paying my balances on time, except during the period I was unemployed and misled into thinking my account was in forbearance. I recently secured a new job and resumed the debt consolidation program, but *** still refused to honor the previous agreement. Given the lack of resolution and their deceitful practices, I found the means to pay off the balance with the help from family and would never consider doing business with *** in the future again.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

The service is terrible. They have no clear process for replacing a debit card. The website says a government-issued ID is acceptable, yet they refused to accept my government-issued passport card. It's absurd. You can call and answer some security questions to have a debit card mailed to you, but if you visit the bank, they won't take your passport card. The manager on duty was unhelpful and kept repeating the same thing. She insisted that my US passport card wasn't a valid ID, even though I can use it with *** for travel across the **. She claimed it was against their guidelines. I'm closing this account immediately. I wouldn't recommend this bank to anyone. I would give them a zero if I could. They don't deserve any rating at all.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

This Bank refuses to do a proper investigation into identity thief through my online account. I reported my card lost , 3 days later this Bank honors a fake check for ******** to process through my online banking even though I've never had a check deposited for more than $950. The next day VACU approves a cash app for $1000.Instead of them looking at this as suspicious activity, identity thief, VACU locks me out of my account, accusing me of some wrong doing and waits until my next work deposit hit and takes my entire check to satisfy the account. This bank is absolutely horrible. I have since closed my account and filed a police report. PLEASE DO NOT put your trust and money into this bank.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

VACU is "free" but clearly you get what you pay for. they let transactions pend for days so they can squeeze insufficient funds fees out of you. It also was a hassle getting a new card because there is no communication between branches or "member services." this bank is a wanna be ***** ***** and they don't deserve your money or consideration for opening an account.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

Virginia credit union operates in a shady manner.Even though it states that direct deposit transactions take 1 business day to clear, my paycheck will show as a pending transactions for 2 full business days before it clears. The outgoing transactions that are pending on your account do not reflect on your available balance. This is leads you to believe you have more money than what you really do. In the past 2 weeks because of this, 6 over draft fees at $35 a piece. That's $215 dollars they made off me. Now comes today's. 7/03. I wake up to see they've added 3 "continued overdraft fees" at $5 a piece. This bank has absolutely horrible business practices.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.

Avoid at all costs, or it could COST YOU BIG. Horrible "bank". Will take 2-3 weeks to clear your check you deposit, even if its from the same place you've been employed for 10 years. They'll give no explanation other than something like "oh our fraud department picked it up for any number of reasons" and "there's nothing we can do". What's worse is, during this time period they'll happily charge you unlimited number of overdraft or insufficient funds fees for trying to use the hard earned money you deposited into your trusted "bank" to try and pay your bills earlier than the aforementioned "bank" has randomly decided you should have access to your money. Then, after your money eventually clears, you call back to get some help with the fees they charged, maybe they'll reimburse one of the SEVERAL overdraft charges if you're lucky and they haven't done this to you before to where you've already used your "good faith reimbursement".Unbelievable. You'd be better off letting a toddler handle your money.Virginia Credit Union, Inc.
