Do not use Pennington Construction! I wish I had researched and read reviews about this company before I signed the quote. The only reason I elected to use them was b/c they were on the list of companies my insurance company supports for this type of water damage repair work + they were the 2nd lowest of 3 quotes. I didn't even select the lowest quoted contractor. Selecting Pennington turned out to be a very costly mistake. From the minute Nick walked into the house, I felt like he was hunting down change orders. Every conversation I had with him centered around him needing to check the quote and confirm he had that covered. Most of the time, he came back and said, "that is not what we quoted and that will be a change order." At the end of the day, Nick and I argued over the cost of his super inflated change orders so he quit the job having only completed 1/4 of the scope. He told me he was terminating the contract agreement for convenience. ***! He only terminated the agreement b/c he was he knew he wasn't going to recoup his direct costs thru his highly inflated change orders. I wasn't going to tolerate his ** . Pennington took the easy way out b/c they knew I was not going to authorize change orders that were inflated **%. I ended up having to hire another contractor to finish what they started b/c they walked off the job. I wish I could give Pennington and Nick a 0 b/c that's the type of service they provided me. Finally- if you get a quote from this company and decide to use them, do not check the box that allows them to directly collect payment from the insurance company when the work is completed. You want to be the person that pays them directly when the work is completed 100% to your satisfaction. Had I selected that option, they would have scammed me out of more than just my deposit.
