Virginia Green has no process for training technicians properly. It's either that or technicians just don't care about work. Partially applied 6 applications for weeding and fertilizing and every time they miss large sections of my yard. This is the 3rd season at two different properties that they have done this. They over spray and kill your plants and garden due to lack of attention to detail. I lost all of my Squash and Cucumber plants due to their carelessness. I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM USING THIS OVERPRICED SERVICE FROM A BROKEN COMPANY.Business Response

This formal complaint is to officially document and communicate the fact that I no longer wish to do business with Virginia Green, its affiliates, or subsidiaries effective immediately or in the future. Virginia Green has caused fertilizer burn to my front yard and deciduous tree that is in my front yard. I have emailed your company's representative (***********************) on 8-20-2024 and 8-21-2024 informing him of the termination of my service with Virginia Green. Unfortunately, **************** has elected not to respond to my emails and instead has chosen to ignore them.Please update your records and inform your Virginia Green technicians to take me off their service route for any subsequent lawn applications for the service address listed in this complaint.In closing, I need an acknowledgement from your company within two weeks from the date of this formal complaint citing the date I was removed from Virginia Green's future service for lawn applications? Your offer is being rejected because we have not talked and the issue has not been handled, which amounts to your recent BBB response being an irrefutable lie.
*************************** (hereinafter "Staff") decided to send me an email/call only after I filed a BBB complaint, which is only further underscored by the lie ("talking to this customer and handled the issue".) provided by this business yesterday. An email from your staff dictating terms on the resolution of this matter is not an acceptable and or professional way to handle an issue when my property has been damaged by Virginia Green employee(s).That said, here are the revised terms that I have for Virginia Green going forward in order to resolve this matter:
1.) Any person representing Virginia Green regardless of their title is not welcome on my property/service address and any attempt to step foot on my property/service address will be considered trespassing even if it is to render a Virginia Green self-interested assessment on the damage Virginia Green caused to my front lawn and deciduous tree.
2.) Virginia Green forfeited their opportunity to handle this matter with me directly via phone and email when it chose to ignore me until I filed a BBB complaint. Effective immediately, Virginia Green and it's staff will discontinue emailing or calling me directly. Instead Virginia Green will direct all communication intended for me through this BBB platform until this matter is resolved. Failure to comply will be considered a form of harassment and addressed accordingly.
3.) The amount of money ($149.97) in total that I am seeking to recoup for damages caused by Virginia Green to my front lawn and deciduous tree is not worth my time if it requires a non-independent, self-interested party paid by Virginia Green to visit my service address to provided their biased opinion about the root cause being everything except the obvious of fertilizer burn/negligence on the part of Virginia Green to my front lawn/deciduous tree.
4.) Please keep the money ($149.97) in total and invest it in training employees on the proper application of fertilizer, responding to customer emails, and customer service.
5.) As the person filing this BBB complaint, this matter can only be honestly considered "handled" or resolved when Virginia Green responds through this BBB platform confirming that they have removed my property/service address from all future lawn service applications because the absence of Virginia Green on my property will greatly improve my trees and grass health/prospect for survival.Please confirm receipt and that my service address has been removed from future lawn service applications for Virginia Green.

I signed a contract with Virginia Green in advance for 1 year of service. Finding the service average and the prices higher than i was willing to continue to pay I did not renew the contract or my service. After the contract expired, and without my knowledge or consent, my lawn was serviced by Virginia Green and I was sent a bill at full price (approx. $135) for the "extra service" they provided (again without my knowledge or consent). The $135 bill was for one treatment service. When I contracted customer service about the above issue, I was told that there was nobody else that I could talk to and that I had to pay the bill. They were very rude and told me that I would be charged interest for every month that I was late paying. I have received three bills. The last two bills charged me additional interest for a service that I did not authorize. I would not recommend their services. I do not believe them to be an above-board company. After speaking with our branch manager in **************, we have decided to write off the balance due and **** the acct as a Do ******************* in the future.
After numerous attempts to contact the customer for resolution, we have cancelled the acct, no refund is due, the balance owed was never paid, that balance is written off.
As we do not have contracts, service is agreed upon and is continuous until we are notified to cancel, we have no record of this customer cancelling service prior to the first treatment of 2024. All communications sent upon engagement of service as well as all emails sent after each service, indicate service is continuous year over year, any changes to the acct or service should be called into our office. I am happy to provide any of those communications as needed.
The first service of 2024 was completed on 1/26/24, we were notified by email on 2/12/24 "Im not renewing my service". Our Agronomist called and spoke to customer and it was indicated to cancel service for financial reason, maybe next year finances would allow for service. the balance for the service was due at that time. Our Agronomist called again on 3/12, 3/13, and 3/21 to discuss balance due. In addition, the acct is a call ahead notice prior to service to inform a service is scheduled, this notice provides the customer with date of service and the option to notify us to not perform treatment. ************** left message on 1/25 and a text message was sent as well in advance of treatment scheduled. below is the text message sent on 1/25

I cancelled my contract back in the fall with an agent. I was told my account was closed and contract terminated. They serviced my yard in January,(1/26) due to their rolling renewals. I called today and ask that the $60 charge be removed. The man on the phone said, "It will go to collections." very poor customer service in my opinion. They have been less than professional to deal with each time I call. finally, the grass has shown minimal improvement since service began.Business Response

Virginia Green has written off the balance due and acct is flagged as do not restart service in the future. After research of our call recordings and call logs from July 1, 2023 - current, we have no record of a call requesting cancellation of service based on the dates provided by the customer. the only calls we have documented are the recent calls (last week) with several agents and our Agronomist regarding the balance due and payment reminders. Our records do show on Jan 5th, 2024, the credit card used for automatic payment was removed thru the customer online portal, this is not a cancellation of service, it is a cancellation of automatic payment.
the phone number search was based on the number attached to the acct, no other number to search was provided.
No further action needed on our part, the acct balance is $0

We had a sales/ tech rep from this company come out to our home to discuss services. We never signed any contracts or paperwork. After review of the acct, our records indicate the customer called in for an estimate for lawn care service. Our Inside Sales team was not able to complete the estimate as the customer requested a rep to meet and discuss the lawn. Our Service Leader met on the property, quoted and sold service for this property. He returned to the office and turned in the sales sheet/estimate/quote to the admin for setup. We do not require signed contracts, this was a verbal agreement to start service.
Virginia Green has written off the balance leaving the acct with a $0 due, the acct is flagged as a Do ************************** for the future, our office will follow up with customer to inform him of the resolution.

04 Mar 2023 I mailed a letter to Virginia Green ************ along with a final payment for services rendered canceling all future services. They cashed the check. 23 Jun 2023 they emailed me an invoice for a service conducted on 23 Jun 2023 that I did not ask for. I have no contract with them. I have asked them to stop again rendering services in the email replying to theirs. I have threatened legal action if they continue.Business Response

Virginia Green lacks professionalism and communication. Back in October, I spoke to a rep about POSSIBLY applying an organic soil conditioner treatment, but never made a firm commitment. In December, I noticed $904 taken out of our account without authorization. I called and was of course very unhappy, because we did not ever agree to that service. I spoke to a manager who did investigate, and my money was refunded immediately. On 2/2/2023, $837 was once again deducted from my account, without any prior written notice. After my phone call this morning, I was informed by the customer service manager that we OWED for a service and it was now in collections. Again, we never gave authorization for this service, and this manager implied that I was a liar. .I was told that all calls are recorded and there was no record of our conversation, which is completely untrue. I am alerting my five neighbors to immediately cancel their accounts, and contacting an attorney. I asked to speak to the owner of the company or another manager, the response "there is no one else you can talk to" and actually laughed. I, ***************************, initiated a phone call to Virginia Green Lawn Care services in August of 2022 to Perform job of FALL over seeding aeration only. No other services, and was told the program they had going on when I called I was NOT going to be in as it was too late in season, so ONLY the FALL professional equipment and seeding to aerate and seed was only what they were to do. I provided them with a credit card. I had reservations as in my Industry of *********** there has been dis-satistfied customers who complained about this company poor performance rip off, etc... however: the salesman I spoke with assured me that the company could be counted on to do a professional job and I would get the beautiful lawn and could count on them to continue in sprring 2023 etc. I was looking for a permanent company. Again this was only for a 1 time FALL over seeding and aeration. I received a tag at the front door after a phone call they would be out a month earlier? only to find the lawn did not show any evidence marks or seed in the front the backyard definitely was not done as the grandkids toys were everywhere the bare hill was dirt only. I know what professional jobs look like and this service was not done satisfactorily. Additionally there has been no following evidence that perhaps the seed took longer to germinate what have you, it rained all season, had plenty of time to do SOMETHING. I called immediately in Fall reported there was a No Show the lawn was not done the Defensive Supervisor argued that his workers came out, they have GPS, I responded they may have BUT they did not do their job. There is still no evidence in the back yard toys/trampoline/ toy castle that did not move is more evidence, the backyard was to be included. I have pictures immediately and later you can actually see stripes/ little patches fine new grass in front, little patches. This work is shoddy at best not done properly, REDO. If they cant then stop harassing me, and get out of the business.Business Response

This spring (late March, early April) Virginia Green will perform a spring seeding follow-up (as this is our normal process for fall aeration/seeding services when there is a concern regarding germination). pictures will be taken during the process to show results and sent to ******************* She agreed to pay the other half of the balance and to be placed on a maintenance program after the follow-up is completed.

I received an email from Virginia Green Lawn care regarding my 2023 season and the ability to saving 5% and prepay on 1/4/23. The amount quoted on the email was $1221.70 which is valid until 2/28/23. I received another email 5 days ago with a different prepay quote of $1142.85. I called 1/23/23 to customer services asking about the discrepancy in price. The representative told me he would look into the quotes and get back with me. When he called several hours later, the bill had gone to $1300.00! I called back and spoke to a representative and they told me I was quoted incorrectly on their emails and would not honor either price I was quoted for services. In the meantime, they have been out twice putting applications down. I then received a letter in the mail this evening with the prepay voucher coupon to pay by mail for the $1221.70. This is the third communication I have received from them and yet, they will not honor the price quoted, instead they raised the price!Business Response
