I placed a work order with ********************* at dominion energy back in May to have my meter box moved because we were having an addition put on the backside of our home and the meter would no longer be accessible. The back gutter on my home was removed while the work was being done. My contractor sent me pictures of the gutter the day they removed it. It was full of pine needles from the trees on my property and it shows that there was no damage to the gutter at that time. It was placed in the backyard away from my home and it was laying straight from side to side. My brother went by my home daily to check on things since the home was vacant and I lived out of state. I came up at the end of April and the gutter was still sitting in the exact same place as it was when removed. Still full of pine needles. We had some permit issues due to getting the windows on time so work came to a halt for a few weeks. My brother stopped by my home on the morning of 5/12 and there was a ditch witch truck and trailer parked in front of my home along with a ***** civic. My brother did go inside the home like always and states that the gutter was still laying in the same place. My brother stopped by again the morning of Saturday 5/13 and noticed from the addition windows that the gutter had been moved. He didnt go out and inspect it because he didnt have any reason to believe it was damaged. He assumed the Fishel workers needed to move it to complete the job. Three days later on Tuesday 5/16, my contractor was able to resume work on my home. He reached out to me by text stating he noticed that one end of the gutter had been moved. He decided to go out in the yard to move it back where it was and noticed one end of the gutter was crushed and was also dented in one spot. He forwarded pictures to me and I reached out to ********************* at dominion to report what had happened immediately. She had me forward the pictures to her so she could discuss the situation with her supervisor and Fishels supervisor. She got back to me the next day and says that the Fishel supervisor, *********************** stated that the wind was so bad that day that it was lifting the gutter off the ground. They claim they moved it to keep it from being further damaged. She told me that the workers are very good about reporting anything that happens while on the job. Yet I wasnt contacted about the situation at the time it happened and they didnt call to have us move the gutter either. Nothing was communicated to me prior to me calling to report the damage. I find it very convenient that dominion isnt responsible for acts of nature and thats the story Im getting about the situation. I dont buy the story I was given so I went online and researched the weather for the day this happened. The wind speeds didnt exceed 11 miles per hour and there was no wind gusts at all that day. I went back as far as April 23rd to research the weather each day. There were multiple days prior to that date where winds and gusts were 30mph+. Coincidentally none of those days caused my gutter to move. Not to mention this is on the back side of my home, with a neighbors home on one side and ***** behind my home and on the other side of my home. That area was blocked in giving the gutter protection from the wind plus had the weight of the pine needles that were packed in it. You can clearly tell that the end was stepped on because its crushed. The wind wouldnt do that. During the last 2 months *** made numerous attempts to try to get this issue resolved and Im at my **** end. My claim is being handled by ************************* at Fishel. He has only reached out to me twice. Both times he just says he is working to make sure Im taken care of but nothing has been done. I shouldnt be out another $550 to replace the gutter that I just had placed on the home new 9 months ago.
