I graduated from American National University in *********, ** over 4 years ago in 2018. The main office is in *****, ** but, I never attended that location. I had signed many documents for my student loan and financial aid. I NEVER, EVER received a single phone call, email, or mail stating I owe anything that was not financed in my student loan. I got a call last week stating I have a past due balance of $241.00 and I have until the end of the week to pay or it will go to collections. Still, no physical bill or anything giving explanations of what I owe or why they have NEVER billed me until threatening collections over 4 YEARS. I still have not received any invoice in any form. This is highly unethical to wait over 4 years and inform me that not everything was covered and I need to pay within a week. I was given my loan documents and financial aid and there was no mention of anything I would have to pay to the college. Everything was financed. Again, it is highly unethical for a business to never send any form of communication of any balances due for over 4 years and then try to collect. I still have not received a bill. There should be some statute of limitations on a business waiting years to suddenly decide they want to bill someone. If they didn't need the funds for over 4 years, then it's a write off. I have my student loan that is in good standing. It isn't like they have been sending me bills, calling, emailing etc to collect this. I had no idea as I was told everything was covered and I NEVER got any form of bill from them. This is wrong on so many levels.
