    Date June 24,2022. Called Tech Around Appliance for a diagnosis and repair of a Roper Washer. The washer casing was removed by owner so the tech would have better visual of the washing machine. The problem explained to the tech that the washer would not agitate but would spin and drain. The owner had purchase the agitator coupling housed to the motor/transmission. The tech could not remove the necessary bolt in that location and decided to cut the bolts with a hacksaw. The part he installed was a purchase through the homeowner and not the tech. He reassembled the washer and charged ****** and explained that the part did not work and that the part I needed would cost over ****** and letft after been paid for absolutely nothing. He did not diagnosed the problem under the arrangement beforehand and I wonder how many other customers this has happened to. Not only that, transmission fluid leaked all over my basement floor and still is as I have to disassemble this unit in order to remove it from my home. I would not reccommed this company as being reputable. I repeat, he used the owner purchase part, did not diagnosed the problem or part that was needed, and left transmission fluid leaking from under the washer on basement floor of owner home. If this is not resolved ,I have no choice but to seek the City Attorneys General Office.

    Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/07/12) */ Contact Name and Title: ***** Key Owner Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ********@techaroundappliance.com Within the complaint the customer describes accurately that the technician did replace the motor coupling that was previously purchased by the customer. The customer also accurately describes that the technician explained that the motor coupling did not fix the issue and that she would need an additional part. The company was hired to send a technician to the customers home to diagnose the issue and install parts if necessary. The technician did exactly that (as the customer explains in her complaint). What was left out is that the customer could not be present while the technician was there so her 18 year old daughter was left in charge by the customer to handle any issues that may arise during the time the technician was in home. Once the technician finished installing the customers part he and the customers daughter tried to call and inform the customer of the diagnostic and what she would further need to finish the job. Beyond that, the technician also directly called the customer to inform her after he left the home but could not get ahold of the customer. We did not receive a phone call from the customer after we tried to explain to her the diagnosis. The estimate that was provided to the customer totaled ******* with the **** service charge included. The customer was made fully aware of the cost of our service charge prior to us entering her home. In terms of the transmission fluid leaking from under the washer on the basement floor we were not aware of prior to this complaint. We are happy to refund the customer the full **** to aid in the replacement of the old machine. We will no longer offer our services to this customer following this transaction.
