We contracted the services of Xterior Plus Inc to remodel two rooms in our home. The contract was executed in September 2022, accompanied by a deposit payment of $8,100 as per the business's request. The check was cashed quickly and without issue. However, work on the project did not commence until January 16, 2023. Regrettably, the finished product did not meet acceptable standards and resulted in several issues. As a result, we filed a complaint with the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR) and an insurance claim due to significant damages inflicted upon our home. It has come to our attention that the business subcontracted every aspect of the work, including falsely representing a credentialed certified electrician. The business was given a 2nd chance to make repairs. This attempt left our home in a further state of disrepair than the initial unprofessional, subpar work. Furthermore, we sent a certified written request to Barry Catron, the owner, seeking a full refund of the deposited amount. Despite repeated requests, Mr. Catron has failed to provide the requested refund to date. We reasonably believe the company is in violation of 18VAC50-22-260. We have repeatedly asked the owner to provide current surety bonding information, which has also been ignored. The business appears to be under insured for the damages to our home. We find this situation highly distressing and believe it is essential to bring these matters to the attention of the Better Business Bureau for resolution and appropriate action. Before and after photos along with supporting documentation, proof of payment, contract and scope of work attached.

I am attaching a signed copy of the Contract--the invoice and contract were essentially the same document used by the company. One annotates payment of the deposit in the amount of $8100.00, the other is signed by my husband, ******* ******. I was present when the deposit was paid in the offices of Xterior Plus Inc and also when this contract was signed. I requested to also sign it however, they said they only needed one signature.  We were not provided with a copy of this until much later (March 2023) and we had to demand it repeatedly. These two documents are what was provided at that time.
