Lewis Creek Builders was asked to diagnose the reason for, and fix, a crack in the living room wall. The issue was diagnosed as a lack of structural support in the attic and I spent thousands of dollars ( I have all of the invoices from Lewis Creek with the charges broken out) to add beams in the attic to fix the problem. Several weeks after the repair was made, the wall cracked again in the same spot and they fixed it under warranty. I do not know what the second fix involved. It cracked again this winter in the same spot, and this time they have refused to repair it under warranty or refund any money. They would like to try fixing it again for another fee and claim that they now know what the problem is. Lewis Creek also built bookshelves in an existing closet, two of which are sagging in the middle after roughly a year. They are not filled with heavy books. In fact, one of them doesn't have any books on it at all. There were many other problems with their work in the time they did renovations on the house, including failure to supervise a subcontracted insulation company that was working in the attic while I was on vacation who came through the kitchen ceiling in two places, fried a perennial bed by laying plastic over it, and left construction ******************. They did fix the kitchen ceiling under warranty. They installed a brand new bathroom vanity and glued on the granite top crooked and off center and then claimed they couldn't get the top off again. I had to pay a skilled ********* to cut the top off, repair the vanity, and install a new piece of granite. I was not reimbursed for this work. The money for the structural work done in the attic needs to be refunded. I will use it to hire a reputable structural engineer to evaluate the problem. I am not interested in allowing Lewis Creek to try again. I will get an estimate to rebuild the sagging bookshelves and would like to be refunded the money to pay for that work.
