My latest issue with this credit union revolves around closing my accounts with them. I paid all loans and the credit card in December and January timeframe. The credit card was paid (at the branch in **********) on 1/26/22 at 14:48:02 EST. Today (3/22) I received a letter that they need to speak with me regarding a balance on my credit card. Interest was charged after it was paid in full as well as late fees. No statement was sent. I could not access my online account after the accounts were closed as this was shut down. I had requested copies of my statements for 2021 so I could do my taxes which I never received. I went into the bank and closed all my accounts in full and was not told more interest would be charged after the account was closed and paid. I should not be charged interest when the account balance was $0 as well as late fees for an amount they did not notify me of until months after the account was closed. I spoke with them on 1/28 and 3/3 regarding my accounts and was not made aware of any balances remaining. I was closing my accounts after I was charged (without notification) a fee for insurance because they claimed they didn't have proof of insurance which was emailed twice. On another loan which I took out in March of last year, the escalated the interest rate from 4% to 12% in December because the didn't have the title. This was all done online and apparently the business I bought it from never sent it to them and they realized it 9 months later. Again, no notice just an increase in the interest rate. I found another credit union. It took several calls and visits to the bank to close my accounts. When I paid the credit card, I had to leave my checking account open until the payoff cleared. I closed all accounts and received the balance remaining in my accounts again with no mention of any interest to be charged on closed accounts. I don't believe I owe them any more on these accounts. I would like copies of 2021 statements too.

STAY AWAY FROM NCFCU. I received a text alert on a Sunday night that there was possible fraudulent activity on our account. I saw several transactions that neither of us did. I called the Fraud Alert number and reported all of them. I asked that individual if I needed to fill out any paper work and was told that I didn't have to. The transactions were "pending" and I expected that they wouldn't be allowed to go through. They were allowed to go through. I called the credit union on Tuesday and discovered that I had to sign off on the dispute (the individual I spoke with Sunday night told me that I didn't need to fill out any paperwork)). Paperwork was emailed and I signed off on it. Then I find out that it will take "***** business days" to get a "provisional credit" and 90 days for the fraudster to show that we actually performed these transactions. This policy on the part of NCFCU caused us to be overdrawn. We are seniors on a fixed income (one of us is a 70-yeaar-old ******* veteran) and this is causing us major financial hardship. STAY AWAY. This credit union will intentionally steal your money and doesn't care.
