1 starI purchased overpriced sherpa suede slippers about two and a half years ago. I initially loved them. However, 18 months into wearing them (lightly), they broke. My toes slid forward separating the top of the slipper from the sole leaving a gaping hole. I called the Vermont Country Store and was instructed to send them back-that I would get my postage returned along with a new pair of slippers. Silence ensued. I called. I sent email. Nothing. Finally I connected to customer service (****) saying that my request was denied but that she would take my complaint to the panel. The panel rejected my complaint. I sent a letter to ***** (the folksy guy on the answering machine) and got nothing in return. I called again and **** referred me to ******* who offered no help and left me feeling unheard and dissatisfied. I told her I would be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. "Go Right Ahead", she challenged. The amount of time the Vermont Country Store spent denying my legitimate claim is astounding. I have been a customer of theirs for thirty years. I returned the slippers so they could send them to the manufacturer. Instead, they sent them back to me in even worse shape. The slippers were close to $100. They were my treat. I felt betrayed, dissatisfied and embarrassed by my treatment. The slippers were costly, inferior and the Vermont Country Store does not stand behind their products. 2 starsI am most certainly a fan of this store. They have a great selection of products, which I love. In the past, I have purchased cotton camisoles/tank tops. The cotton quality was robust and soft on the skin, a real treat in the winter. However, as in everything these days, the quality of the material the new camisoles are manufactured with is quite flimsy and most certainly not worth the same price. Unfortunately, the store brand is watered down. Also, word to the wise: when looking at food items that are on sale, ask or look closely at the expiration date. I bought some biscuits yesterday, and now I am stuck with 4 packs that I cant possibly consume before the end of April!Review fromKristen H

I ordered a Halloween ghost bubble light and it was $60 and it was junk. So I returned it and I lost $20 for the shipping fees, buyer be aware! Amazon doesnt do that to you. ??The Vermont Country Store, Inc.

When you returned the item, you used our prepaid return label which is a $7.95 charge. Your refund was issued for the cost of the item and the state sales tax, less the return label fee.

I recently placed an order with the Vermont Country Store and never received the order. When I reached out to them, they offered me a 50% refund. I explained to them that I paid 100% and expected 100% refund. Since then we have gone back and forth via email and they raise the percentage they are willing to give me every time; but they are never willing to give me a full refund. I can't believe I am going through this. If you pay for an item and never receive it, you should get a full refund; not a run around. This is one of the WORST online retail experiences I have ever had. I will NEVER order from them again, and I would advise anyone to avoid them at all costs. 2 starsI recently ordered an item of clothing from the Vermont Country Store. The clothing in question is a cargo coat which I ordered from this company and purchased on or about 1 February 2024. The Vermont Country Store supposedly used the ********************* to send me the cargo coat. It was supposed to have arrived within about a week or so, but it never arrived. I finally called the Vermont Country Store a week ago. The employees of this company could not account for the whereabouts of the cargo coat. I reordered the cargo coat last week, but it still has not arrived. At this rate, I have no idea when or if the cargo coat will ever arrive. This is the first time that I have ever purchased a product from this particular company. I have absolutely no idea whether or not I will ever receive the cargo coat in question via a *** delivery from the Vermont Country Store. This company should bolster it's quality control protocols. Perhaps I should have bought a cargo coat from Amazon. I would rather not use a Chinese-owned company like Amazon to buy products. However, if the Vermont Country Store is going to be this inefficient, then I will never again purchase anything from this company which thus far has had a dubious quality control record in its dealings with me. When I finally received the cargo coat, the zipper malfunctioned. I had to try numerous times to zip up the cargo coat. It is a great coat, but it is difficult to use. 1 starI placed an order online, I received it a couple days later. It definitely was not what I expected. I wanted to return the bedspread immediately, printed a prepaid label directly from the Vermont store website. Mailed it on 1/29/24 and still have not been refunded. I also sent 3 emails regarding this issue, no one ever responded to any of the emails. Beware of their online catalog as it's very deceiving. I will NEVER consider shopping at the Vermont store ever again. Wish I read the horrible reviews before making a purchase.Review fromANN R

I ordered from this company for the first time and the Stadium Butter Toffee Peanuts was so nasty and not to mentioned bitter. I contacted them and received and email back from them stating i would get a full refund which would take ***** hours. As of 12-31-23 they have gone in my account and took another $26.09 payment. I am so FURIOUS WITH ABOUT ME EVER ORDERING FROM THIS COMPANY. I purchased and was charged for an item on November 6. When it arrived on November 8, the products were bad. I called customer service and they sent me a prepaid return label. The items were returned by **** on November 13 and I was given a tracking number by the Vermont Country Store. The items went from **** to *** almost 2 weeks ago according to their customer service. I was told it would be 2-3 weeks before I received my almost $100 credit after I handed it off to the ****. It has now been over a month and I still don't have a credit. I have called and spoken to a "live" person 3 times and called today as well. I was told that they couldn't help me and they would pass my message onto someone and that it would be ***** hours before someone would call me back. I was disconnected twice from their online chat after demanding my money be credited back. I have had to dispute the charge on my credit card because I don't have the product and they will not credit my account.The Vermont Country Store, Inc.

We sent our tree back to them because it was faulty just want to exchange it for a working tree. we call to inquire about where it is? They claim it has a hold on it cause the price went up and they want a form of payment? this is not what we agreed upon when we spoke to rep for return of tree ****** ******* THAT DIDNT HELP US SHOULD BE ASHAMED ITS LIKE MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE VERMONT COUNTRY STORE WOW IS ALL WE CAN SAY SO AT THIS POINT WE DONT KNOW WHAT WE WILL BE USING AS A TREE BUT WE WILL FIGURE IT OUT WE WILL NOT GO THRU CHRISTMAS WITH OUT A TREE....The Vermont Country Store, Inc.
