11/15 we dropped our ****** Sienna for Interior Detailing We picked the car up same day just around 5 pm. The driver-side sliding door would not open when using the automatic button, but operated by door handle manually. We pulled out to drop kids off at practice and called the shop at the same time, the detail shop was closed but ************** was open and took a message of the issue to follow up with detail shop the next day. When we arrived home, we realized the door cable hanging out and had clearly been broken from forced entry of some kind. The following day from pickup when we didn't get a returned call, we called back to seek resolution. They claimed all doors functioned as they should when it left and that we should have called the service department the night prior (which we did) and they denied it. They were unwilling to review the matter further - they didn't even offer to take a look at it. Now we are left with an expensive to repair broken door and a local dealership who used to be a very trusted/honorable dealership before it changed owners. I'm extremely disappointed with the treatment. Attached picture of broken cable as we found it.
The dealership claimed they know they didn't break the door during the interior detailing because when they parked the vehicle, they did a thorough inspection, including testing all automatic door buttons.
However, the attached is a photo of a mouse nest left over in the glove box after the detail was completed.
If they actually did a post detail inspection, I would think this would have been at the top of the list, over testing door switches...which proves it was never inspected.
I think this is a critical detail needed to be added to the complaint and would like it published; also reflecting the quality of the detail work. This is why we need to have the repair completed at a different facility.
