Hi,I contacted this person through his page on ******** (now defunct as he must have deleted it for the huge crowd of customers scammed) after seeing someone talking about his job. His reviews , like 4-5 , were good enough, but with the hindsight, they were probably left by relatives or friends. So I contacted him by messenger on FB and emails in May 2022. Long story short , I needed to have my porch remodeled , as I have an old mother who needs safe hand rails and steps. He came at the beginning of June to take measures and such , and later he sent me an email with a pdf of a contract where he asked me a total of $2875.60 for the full project. Weird fact was that he asked me half of the amount in advance and I wasnt so comfortable with that, but he said that he needed it to buy materials and that the project would start in mid - end of August. He came to my home with his wife , witnessed by my mother and other people in my home, to pick my check up and I signed the contract in June 15, 2022.I waited impatiently the month of August , but nothing happened . I contacted him by email and thru Messenger on ********, sent him a text on his mobile , to have an update , and after a few days, he answered me on August 30th (last time that I got his answer after weeks of silence) that due to his huge schedule of projects , he had to postpone to some weeks. I said that I was ok.Then I contacted him again ,starting from the end of September , 1 email each week and he never replied back to me I surfed on FB , in a Saint ****** ***** of ****** members, and I was shocked to read various posts about this person and his malpractice. One posted by ***********************, a victim of his scams, was later deleted by the admins (probably under his pressure or maybe for some sort of friendship) He scammed many people in this area, asking for 1/2 of the amount for the projects, not completing the job at all , asking for more money or making bad jobs .I want a refund immediately.

We hired this company for a renovation on our house. 6/6/22 - Email request from Johnson gmail for signed contract and payment to order materials, including custom shower due to 6 week lead for delivery.6/6/22 - Check Paid ($18,280)7/18/22 - Start date of project (No Materials Delivered on site)9/1/22 - Second payment made at Dave Johnsons request $13,710 9/6/22 - Check cashed through ********************* 9/29/22 - Total paid $31,990. No Materials on site. The contractor left our house in an unsafe and unlivable state. No water, no heat to half our house. Projects not completed, and work not done correctly. 9/30/22 - We requested ALL materials be delivered to our house due to the agreed completion date not being met. 10/3/22 - Dave Johnson emailed us to inform us he will not be returning and he will have some materials delivered by 10/4 but will be missing some. He also stated that he is filing bankruptcy and can't afford to take on anymore debt at this time. We've tried multiple times via email and phone to contact him, all of which have been unsuccessful. We've had new contractors check the work that was left unfinished and have been told it isn't done right and will need to be redone. This is now going to cost us additional time and money after we paid Dave Johnson a significant amount to have this done.

We refinanced our house and entered into a contract with the Johnsons for them to complete an accessibility project for our son who is a wheelchair user, including poured cement patio, large gated deck, ramp, and pavilion for shade. They were paid $18,836 in November of 2021. In June of 2022 they finally began work. They moved a propane tank that was in the way, with the help of our propane company. They did ground prep work, framed out the patio, laid down gravel and rebar. On August 6, 2022, they poured part of the patio, but it was done improperly so on August 9th they had to demolish part of it. On August 10th they poured concrete again and we paid them an additional $9,100 for a sidewalk add-on. On August 12th they did one coat of sealant on the patio. They verbally told us they would be back in a couple days to seal again and bring fill. They have not returned to the site since. They will not respond to any communication, have deleted their online business page, and have supposedly dissolved their business. To date, they have received $27,936 from us, part of which was intended for decking and ramp materials that have not been purchased. The site has not been cleaned, there is no fill, no grading completed, and large pieces of cement are piled, which renders it unsafe for our kids and family.

Johnson and Family installed flooring in our home. The flooring is chipping. Boards are lifting and gaps are between boards. It sounds like we are walking on ice through the house because he did not check if the subfloor was flat. Johnson and Family claimed it was a warranty issue. We did a warranty claim through Pergo and they determined it was an installation issue. He also repaired our soffits/fascia and installed gutters. The gutters leaked terribly, the water pooled in the middle because the pitch was way off, and our home smelled like a very dirty lake from stagnant water. He placed one downspout in a corner of our foundation and we have negative grading so the water just pooled right up against the foundation. We had another company assess the gutters and they determined they were not salvageable and we had to replace them. We had one spot on the corner of our deck that he did a very strange 'fix' to as you will see in photos. It never stopped leaking and we asked him to fix it three times, but he was never successful. He also cut the gutters short in two areas. We would like our money back for the floor, and the money we paid to have the gutters redone. When the gutters were redone we discovered one area where the fascia metal wrap was done in two pieces and overlapped as the pieces he had were not large enough.

A contract with ******************************* and his company was signed in July of 2021 for numerous Renovation projects on our home. He started working on them in October and sporadically throughout the winter. Communication was poor at best with ****. There are an overwhelming amount of issues to be dealt with in the work that was completed by **** and his crew. The two major things we are seeking reimbursement on are due to the vinyl siding ($9,921) that has been inappropriately installed. They used inappropriate materials in most places having to nail and use silicone to unsuccessfully keep the siding from falling off our home. All cuts were made uneven and seams to do not align correctly. We have had contractors come out and look at repairing this job and all have said this would require it to be 100% taken off the home and the majority replaced. The ******** brand windows that were replaced in the home by ******************************* are certified for only the North central united states. When **** was questioned about this multiple times he kept telling me he would look into this. These windows leak more cold air in than the preexisting windows taken out. There are also cuts in the new screens that were noted and never repaired by ****. ($6,975)Although these are the two major things we seek compensation for to correct there have been countless of other problems found that we have slowly corrected with other hired contractors including hot electrical wires left open in the walls of the home twice, support post to elevated ******* that was renovated by **** was cut and inappropriate material used to jack ******* up (hardware, used old ill wood for beam), LVP flooring ruined due to improper install, door sealed shut in ******* due to not plumbing correctly, areas of no insulation found in ******* floor and more. This has been an extremely overwhelming and taxing time for our family dealing with these problems. We keep finding hidden problems that could indeed cause huge safety issues.
