Polli came out and provided an estimate for nailing down a few boards of decking. Estimate was done on 3/27. Verbally communicated to me that the job would be less than 8 hours work and so it would be billed hourly but with a minimum of 2 man hours and expected to take about that amount of time. They came out 3/28 and performed 29 minutes of work and the deck looked the same. I called the initial person who did the initial quote advising i did not want to be charged for the visit. I knew i would be charged a 2 hour minimum and the workers stayed less than half an hour and accomplished nothing. I was under the impression a supervisor was coming out to check the work. I had indicated i did not want a $500 bill for what they had done. The men came out, worked on the house without getting any authorization to do more work. I was then charged additional hours totaling over $1500. I was satisfied with the corrective measures that were taken on that second visit but was blown away by the bill. If i had known the men were coming out to work that day and billing hours, then I would have declined future work and asked for a refund from the first visit as it was terrible. If they had knocked on the door to talk to me i would have turned them away or put a do not exceed on the contract. There was absolutely no communication until the job was done. I reached out to the company regarding this bill. They removed the charge from the first visit. They still want $1491.
